"Hahahaha this'll be fun," the Citali girl said as she patted my shoulder and turned away. That couldn't mean anything good. I just stared blankly at her back, then looked to the sky, which was getting increasingly darker, sure to be pitch black in a minute or so.

Citali turned around again to face me, noticing that I hadn't moved. Nudging me, she advised that I should sit down. Are you serious!? No thank you, I barely know these people and they expect me to drop my guard? I don't think so.

I shook my head at her and said "I would rather stand." "Are you sure?" She said, raising an eyebrow, "I've done this like a thousand times and I still get nauseous standing." "Done what?" I said cautiously.

She waved Zeno and the others over, glancing up at the sky, which was now shining with stars. Everyone huddled close together, almost in a perfect circle. That idiot Torren also seemed to notice that I was standing and just grinned at me.

Zeno moved back a step, glanced at me and said "Last chance princess, you gonna sit down or not?" "Excuse me I am not a princess so don't call me that, and also yes I am going to stand, why do you people care?" I said. Zeno just looked at me and said "Ok your majesty," then all the stars went out, and the people around me disappeared.

I got a little panicky and tried to say something, but stopped as a sturdy hand grabbed onto my shoulder. Suddenly, my heart jumped into my throat as I was wrenched backwards and darkness consumed my vision.

"Well Vaia, are you regretting standing now?" My eyes were blinded as a bright light was held in front of my face. I swatted at it, but it burned my hand. "OW!!" I yelled as I kicked whoever was holding the burny light. Someone else yelled in pain as my foot made contact with soft flesh, and I sat up, looking around.

Then an overwhelming feeling of sickness flooded my senses and I threw up for the second time that day, completely emptying my stomach of everything I had eaten in the last 24 hours.

"Yeesh," Someone said, "you are not very good at keeping your food down, are you?" My vision clearing from the bright light directly in front of my face, I saw Torren standing over me, and Aiven behind him, holding his stomach. Oops.

"What happened, and where are we?" I growled at Torren. A pair of hands grabbed my shoulders and pulled me up. I turned to face them, and it was Citali, grinning sheepishly as she said " I probably should have told you what was gonna happen, but it's always so funny to watch the surprise on people's faces when they shade step."

"When they what?" I said, now annoyed at both Citali and my stupid stomach for throwing up in front of the one person who would make fun of me for doing it. "Shade step," Citali explained, "it's when Zeno pulls through the darkness from one place to another, but it really only works at night when it's dark almost everywhere."

Carefully turning my head around the room (to avoid puking again) I saw that we were in a cave looking thing. Such a common hiding spot I swear. Aside from Aiven Torren and Citali, everyone else was huddled around a fire in the back corner of the room- I mean cave.

"What was that bright light that literally almost blinded me?" Aiven blushed, and muttered an apology. Torren grabbed his head and turned it towards him. "Why are you being so weird just because you think Vaia's cute??" That made Aiven turn even redder and he hit kicked Torren in the shin, groaning "Shut up you idiot."

Wow, I'm starting to like him. Anyone who thinks Torren is an idiot is my friend.
