Defective
"You are such a moron." "Oh shut up, I got this." "Are you kidding me? This was supposed to be a clean getaway, in and out with the girl, without leaving a trace." "What are you talking about, I didn't leave any traces." "You BLEW UP the freaking DOOR to get over here!" "So?" I said innocently.
"It was UNLOCKED!" he yelled. Obviously, he wasn't over it. "How would you know?" "Because I had just opened it when you almost KILLED ME!" "That doesn't count, at least I didn't leave any fingerprints." "Because you BLEW IT UP!"
The wires sparked, I had shorted the keypad out. "Done! How's that for I got this?" Aiven rolled his eyes at me and blasted opened the door."HYPOCRITE!" "It's already been done once you idiot, this won't make a difference, the alarms already blaring."
We both stepped inside, our eyes adjusting to the dark. "Dude, it's freezing in here." "It shouldn't be, if she's who we think she is." "Maybe this is the wrong cell?" "WHAT?" "No chill dude, I was just kidding, she's probably just asleep."
Suddenly, bright violet eyes appeared in the back corner of the room. "Whoa, dude, where did those come from?" I asked stupidly. The room was suddenly filled with light, and a girl stood in front of us, her hands ablaze with white flame. "Stay away from me, unless you want a nice burn to go with that outfit," she hissed. I don't think she was talking about the savage 'ohhh you got burned' kind. She meant the injury caused by immense amounts of heat and pain.
Aiven raised his hands, and after a slight pause, he stepped forward and said, "It's okay, we won't hurt you." The girl's eyes narrowed and she yelled, "LIAR! That's what they always say, before sticking needles in me!"
With that, she raised her arms, her eyes blazed, and the sparks flew, enveloping Aiven. It's a good thing he's fireproof. But when the flames dispersed, he was lying on the ground. Blue frost was spreading from his chest outwards. "What did you do!?" I yelled at the girl.
Her eyes were cold and she responded, "You are always hurting me, doing experiments, burning me, seeing how much heat I can withstand. It's only fair I get my revenge. Besides, he's only one guard. I'm pretty sure you have at least 5000 more."
"No, you don't understand! We're not with them! We were here to rescue you!" I don't care how valuable she was, she had hurt my best bud. No one hurts my friends. I was about to give her a piece of my mind when Aiven groaned. I quickly knelt over him. "Is it bad? What did she do to you? I thought you were fireproof!" I touched the expanding blue wound, and he winced. "That's no fire," he said, "I think she is a Defective."
The girl looked angry now. "I'm a what?" I saw my chance, and I quickly butt in, saying, "Come with us, and you'll find out." Suddenly, I heard yells behind me. Of course this place had guards, I mean, it's a top secret facility with Aytigin prisoners, and the girl just said so, so what do you expect? "Come on, we have to go, now."
I turned around and bent the gravity around the advancing men behind us, and they blasted up toward the ceiling . Her eyes widened. "You have it too?" "Yeah, but if we don't go now, we'll be dead before we can even have a proper chitchat."
Aiven cleared his throat down on the ground. His voice was scratchy and I could tell he was trying not to cry out in pain, as he said "Um, hello? Dying here, are we friends with the Defective or not?" The girl stepped closer to Aiven, and touched the blue frost that was almost covering his entire body.
It immediately melted, then she leaned closer to his face, and said, "Call me the Defective again, and I'll let you die. My name is Vaia." Aiven's mouth twitched in a smile. "Alrighty then, friend."
The girl, Vaia apparently responded, "Who said we were friends? I'm just trying to get out of here." Then she paused for a second, and reluctantly helped Aiven up. "Now, I say we get our butts out of here." "Ditto," I said, "where's the door?" Vaia looked at me questioningly.
"Didn't you come in through it? It's on the other side of the building." "Well crap," I said, "and no, we didn't come through the door, we came through the vents, and have no way of getting back through them."
Aiven smirked and said, "Good thing I know the saying "when there isn't a door, just make one." "Who says that?" asked Vaia, "Me, just now." He turned to the wall of the cell and blasted it with heat, and it pretty much exploded.
"How fortunate," I laughed, and jumped through the giant hole in the building, and gently floated down to the ground, 15 feet below, and then lowered Aiven and Vaia down too, bending the gravity around their bodies.
It may or may not have been an accident, but I flipped Aiven over onto his head when he was 3 feet just above the ground. He landed with a thump and yelled "OW! WHAT THE HECK?!" Snickering, I said "Oops." Aiven is my best friend, so I can...throw him around a little when I feel like it. Best friend benefits, oh yeah.
