7; Almost Kiss
"Jungkook if you don't concentrate on your research, I will actually smack the back of your head with this book."
"Bitch, I will not hesitate to throw my book at you."
"No one will be hitting or throwing books at anyone. Both of you need to focus." Hoseok said as he looked back and forth between Taehyung and Jungkook.
"We've been doing research for two days now and we haven't found anything," Jungkook complained. "I'm tired."
"Hoseok, I don't care what you say, I am this close to throwing my book at this little shit," Taehyung said while holding a tight grip on his book while glaring at Jungkook. "My family has been turned to stone for two days now, I don't care how tired you are, you have to figure out a way to change them back. You are the reason they are turned to stone."
"Are we seriously going to argue again?" Jungkook narrowed his eyes at Taehyung. "Do I really have to explain myself that it wasn't my fault? How was I supposed to know that I sold you a cursed object."
"I don't know, you're the son of the goddess who owns this shop."
"And? You know that I am only here as a punishment."
"Yeah, a very light punishment if you ask me. Your brother was right. It's your fault that your friend has a human that is sexually attracted to him."
"Don't even bring my brother into this! And I didn't even know that Yoongi would be the first person that human would see."
"You shouldn't even have shot that arrow in the first place!"
"Um...guys can we focus?" Hoseok tried to calm the two males who were burning daggers into each other's eyes as they argued.
"You should of put the effort into buying your sister a proper gift, not a cursed artifact!" Jungkook argued back.
"Don't you even dare bring my sister up!" Taehyung threatened.
"Why not? You wanted to bring up my brother. Besides you know that it's not my fault, it's yours. You're the one who turned your family into stone, not me. I was just an innocent employee. I don't even know why I'm even helping you try to find a way to turn them back when it should be you. You are the one who bought the cursed object."
Taehyung slammed his book shut and instead of hitting Jungkook on the back of his head with it, he aggressively pushed the younger against the wall behind them.
It was a good thing that there was no one in the store at the moment as both Taehyung and Jungkook seemed to be pretty mad at the moment and Hoseok wasn't sure what to do.
Taehyung put both his hands on each side of Jungkook's head, his angry eyes burning with such intensity. "Do I have to remind you that you are the one who didn't want anyone else finding out about this?" He spoke in such a low and raspy deep voice. "What would happen if I suddenly told people? What would your brother say? What would your mom do? Would she punish you far worse?"
"Guys..." Hoseok attempted, but once again failed.
"My family has no business with you." Jungkook glared at the older's dark eyes, not noticing Taehyung's close proximity as their faces were inches away.
"Your mother does. This is her store and the cursed artifact you sold me is hers too. Maybe I should of went to her for help instead of you. You said it yourself, you don't even know why you're helping me."
"Now hold on just a minute-"
"In fact," Taehyung said interrupting the younger. "...what if I go ask for her help right now."
"I will hit you with my book that I was reading." Jungkook threatened.
"Why? You don't want to help, so I'm going to get someone else to help me."
"I changed my mind!"
"No, I'm still going to tell your mom. It's been two days and my family is still turned to stone. Hoseok is the one who has been pitching in the most when he doesn't even have nothing to do with this and you are always complaining about the many words on the page."
"Taehyung, I will punch you in the esophagus just so that you won't be able to speak."
"Please don't punch him in the esophagus," Hoseok said as he looked worriedly between the two, but he once again went ignored.
"I will smack the back of your head with the thickest book I can find to knock some sense into you since you clearly don't have none."
"Excuse me? I'm just tired of sitting and looking through books for two days now."
"You don't think I'm not tired either!" Taehyung yelled. "I've read the most words I've ever had in the past two days than I have ever read in my whole life, but just because I'm tired doesn't mean I will stop. I want my family back as soon as possible and if you don't want to help, I won't hesitate to tell your mother."
"Tell mother what?" Seokjin asked as he walked in through the door, catching the three males in the store by surprise, mainly Jungkook though. He hoped Seokjin hadn't heard him.
"Nothing!" He quickly blurted out before Taehyung could say anything.
"Why are you two pressed against the wall?"
It was then that Taehyung and Jungkook finally noticed their close proximity. Their argument had been completely forgotten now as they now stared into each other's eyes with shock and embarrassment.
"They were about to kiss."
Both Taehyung and Jungkook's heads whipped to Hoseok who was shyly smiling at Seokjin, a rosy color tinting his cheeks.
"Oh?" Was all he said. Seokjin clearly wasn't expecting that answer and neither did Taehyung and Jungkook. "Then carry on." Seokjin suddenly smirked.
Jungkook's eyes were wide and filled with panic as he turned back to Taehyung, hoping that the other wouldn't kiss him.
To his luck, Taehyung moved away from and cleared his throat. "Jungkook and I...we aren't like that." He said as he turned his attention to Seokjin.
"Like what?" Seokjin asked as he looked back and forth between a nervous Taehyung who was nervously tapping his foot and Jungkook who was still pressed against the wall.
"We're just...shy," Jungkook said as he nervously smiled at Seokjin.
Seokjin raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What kind of people who are dating, don't kiss?"
"We aren't dating," Jungkook and Taehyung quickly spoke at the same time. Their eyes flickered to each other but the moment they made eye contact they quickly looked away.
"But Hoseok just said you two were about to kiss?"
"As Jungkook said, they're just shy. They are dating and they were about to kiss, but they don't want anyone to know about their relationship yet." Hoseok said. His tinted rosy cheeks seemed to turn even rosier the longer he looked at Seokjin.
"I see," Seokjin said as his eyes once again flickered back and forth between the two nervous males were avoiding eye contact with each other. "Anyways, I came in here to say something to Jungkook, but I forgot so, I'll just leave."
Hoseok shyly waved goodbye at Seokjin who walked out of the store after waving goodbye as well.
Jungkook let out of the longest sigh he'd ever had and finally moved away from the wall. He felt like he was still being pressed against the wall with Seokjin in the store.
"Out of all the lies you could have said, you just had to say that Jungkook-" Taehyung pointed at the said male. "-And I..." He pointed to himself. "Were about to kiss and that we're dating?"
"Yeah, Hoseok, why out of all the possible lies you could have made up, why did you say those?" Jungkook asked in disbelief as he looked at the Taehyung out of the corner of his eye, still too shy and nervous to look at him.
Hoseok shrugged. "What else was I supposed to say when Taehyung was pinning you to the wall and when both your faces were so close to each other? It really looked like you two were about to kiss."
Jungkook let out a cry. "What am I supposed to do now? Seokjin thinks Taehyung and I are dating."
"You two could pretend like you are dating," Hoseok said.
Taehyung immediately spoke up. "There's is no way that I'm going to pretend like I'm dating him."
"I'm not going to pretend that I'm dating you either, let alone, kiss you." Jungkook turned to Taehyung made a disgusted face as he finally had the confidence to look at him.
"Who said I would kiss you?" Taehyung said as he made a gagging noise.
"Eww, stop faking gagging. That's why I would never even consider kissing you or dating you."
"I wouldn't even consider kissing or dating the guy who turned my family into stone."
"Guys?" Hoseok asked as he looked at the two males who were ready to argue again.
"Back to this again?"
"Yeah, so unless you don't want me to tell your mother what you did, you better help out and not complain," Taehyung warned.
"I will, so there's no need to tell my mom," Jungkook said as he huffed in annoyance.
"You better," Taehyung said as he took a step forward towards the younger to try to intimidate him, but it only made Jungkook nervous as he recalled their almost kiss scene as Hoseok has described it.
He pushed Taehyung away and went back to behind the counter. He opened the book he was reading and went back to doing research all while pretending not to be fazed by how close he had been to Taehyung.
