4; Meeing Taehyung's Stone Family
Jungkook woke up in a coughing fit. His eyes were glossy due to his eyes having water in them, so he couldn't see very well. He also couldn't hear anything, but a ringing sound in his ears.
Jungkook laid still for a few moments, trying to catch his breath and regain his hearing and vision. As his eyes adjusted, he blinked a few times before finally noticing a figure over him. Then the ringing in his ears stopped and he was finally able to see and hear Taehyung calling his name.
"Wake up!" Taehyung harshly shook his arms.
"Stop shaking me so hard. I literally just woke up from an unconscious nap." Jungkook complained. "I could have drowned."
"You're a god, you can't just die by drowning," Taehyung said. "Now come on, my family is still turned to stoned."
Jungkook slowly sat up and attempted to stand up, but failed. He fell back down with a thud. "I have three questions," Jungkook said. "One, I can't walk, two, are we underwater and three, if so, how the fuck am I breathing underwater?"
"That was two questions, not one," Taehyung said as he helped Jungkook to his feet. He held an arm around his waist so that he wouldn't fall. "You're underwater right now and you're breathing because I let you breathe underwater."
"My clothes are dry." Jungkook suddenly realized when he felt Taehyung's arm around him. "And your clothes are dry too!"
"Yeah, yeah, just underwater things, now let's go," Taehyung said with a roll of his eyes.
Taehyung helped Jungkook walk as they headed to the main room. Upon entering, Jungkook gasped.
"What happened to them?" He asked.
"Can't you see?" Taehyung asked as he tried to help Jungkook sit on a chair. "They turned to stone."
"How?"
"I don't know. My father was helping Jennie unclasp the artifact you chose which seemed to be a bracelet when this bright light appeared and I shielded my eyes because of how bright it was and when the light was finally gone and I was able to see again, they were turned to stone." Taehyung explained.
Jungkook slowly stood up from the chair. He struggled a bit to maintain his balance but was finally able to stand. He took small steps and realized he could walk again. Making his way to Taehyung's stone family, Jungkook reached out about to touch the artifact, when Taehyung suddenly grabbed his hand.
"Don't touch it." He warned. "We don't know what will happen."
Jungkook nodded as Taehyung let go of his hand and stared at the artifact instead, trying to figure out what it was. "In order to turn your family back to normal, I'll have to do some research first on the artifact."
"Can't you just tell your mom? It is from her store." Taehyung said.
Jungkook shook his head. "I already got in trouble for causing mischief, I don't want to get into more trouble and get a harsh punishment after already being punished by working at the store."
"You're going to end up cursing more customers."
Jungkook sighed. "Come by the store tomorrow and we can do some research together that way we can possibly find a way for me to turn your family back much faster."
Taehyung nodded. He reached up to touch the necklace around his neck while staring lovingly at his sister and the now stone necklace around her neck.
"Is it your birthday today? Is that why you came in asking for a gift for your twin sister?" Jungkook asked while looking around the room as well. It was littered with gift wrappers.
"Yeah, it's mine and Jennie's birthday. She bought me some sentimental gifts." Taehyung said while spotting the picture frame his sister had gifted him on the ground. He picked it while still clutching onto the necklace with his other hand. "I feel bad for buying her a random gift that you chose that also happened to be cursed."
Jungkook wanted to wish him a happy birthday but he didn't think it was the right moment. "In my defense, I didn't know it was cursed."
"My father had bought me some nice gifts too." Taehyung continued. "I feel bad as well. He was helping Jennie trying to unclasp that bracelet, artifact, cursed object, or whatever it is and now he's turned to stone because of me."
"It's not your fault." Jungkook tried to reassure. "None of us knew the artifact would be cursed."
"I was worried about getting to dinner late that I didn't bother taking the time to buy a proper gift. I simply walked into your mom's artifact store since it's right beside my home."
"When I fix this, you can buy her a proper gift, one with a sentimental meaning." Jungkook patted Taehyung's back.
"I hate you."
"What?"
"I hate you," Taehyung repeated. "What you said was right, it's not my fault that Jennie and my dad are turned to stone, it's yours."
"My fault?" Jungkook scoffed. "I just told you that I didn't know that the artifact was cursed. I didn't even think my mother would have cursed artifacts in the store."
"You sold it to me."
"You asked me to choose something for you."
"And you did, you chose a cursed object."
"Hey, I said I would fix this."
"And you better," Taehyung warned.
Jungkook walked away from Taehyung and let a water nymph guide him up to the surface of the water again. The cloud had been where he had last been before jumping off.
After he got on, the cloud took him back to the top of Mount Olympus where he trudged up to Yoongi's room and collapsed on his nephew's bed.
"What's up?" Yoongi asked.
"My first day at work and I sold a cursed object to a customer."
Yoongi's eyes widened. "What? Who?"
"Taehyung came into the store during the day asking for a gift for his twin sister," Jungkook said. "It's their birthday today, but Jennie is spending her birthday as a stone as well as her father."
"Wait, the gift that Taehyung bought for his sister happened to be a cursed object that turned not only her, but their father into stone as well?" Yoongi asked.
Jungkook nodded. "My mom has some cursed artifacts in the store that I didn't even know about. I just hope none of the customers today bought them and that they never buy them because I don't know which ones are cursed."
"Did you tell your mom?"
Jungkook immediately sat up and shook his head no. "I'm not going to tell her. She'll probably give me harsh punishment like helping you babysit a horny human."
"You shot the horny human."
"The horny human is sexually attracted to you, but anyways, as I was saying," Jungkook said. "I don't want to get in trouble with mom. As much as I love to cause mischief, I prefer to mess with humans and their love lives, not cursed artifacts and an angry Taehyung."
"Is Taehyung going to help you?" Yoongi asked.
"I asked him to since he says that it's my fault. How was I supposed to know that I sold him a cursed artifact?"
"You should ask Athena's daughter, Jeongyeon for some help. She's the daughter of the goddess of wisdom, after all, I'm sure she'll be a great help."
Jungkook pondered for a second. "If I do ask her for help, I have to be discreet and not mention Taehyung's cursed family. I don't want Jeongyeon to tell Athena and Athena to tell mom. Why don't you help me too?" Jungkook asked as he looked at the older with big doe eyes and gave his best innocent look.
"As much as I would love to," Yoongi said. "I have to remind you that I am babysitting a human that is sexually attracted to me."
"Ugh, humans, and their hormones," Jungkook said with a roll of his eyes.
Yoongi chucked before noticing Jungkook's attire. "Hey, didn't you just come from underwater?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Your clothes are dry. I would think they would have been wet."
"Taehyung said that it's an underwater thing."
