Chapter 28
{Reader's POV}
The crimson lights flashed and dimmed the room to an eerie shade. The sirens were still ringing in the background and alerting the rest of the building of a possible threat.
Jamie and I stood only a few feet away from the numerous guards that pointed their guns at us. I bit down hard on my lip as I tried to control my trembling figure.
"(Y/N)?", Jamie whispered as his black orbs carefully scanned over the guards. I hummed in reply and instinctively clutched his shoulders as the guards began shooting at us.
I ducked behind the small, frail boy and waited patiently for the men to stop firing.
Much to their horror, Jamie wasn't affected at all by the bullets.
I let out a heavy sigh and watched as the bullets slid out of Jamie's body as his wounds instantly healed from the attack.
"Do you know your way around the building?", he asked without looking back at me. I shook my head and tightened my grip on Jamie's shoulders as the guards slowly began to creep towards us. Jamie let out a sigh and muttered, "Guess it can't be helped...", then he turned around and smiled, "Wait here for a sec!", he chirped.
One of the guards took advantage of Jamie's distracted form and decided to pounce on us. However, Jamie chuckled and turned back to stab his claws inside of the guard's chest.
I gasped at the scene and my eyes widened as Jamie's claws glinted in the red light.
The small, cute boy I rescued from Jack was no longer a vulnerable being anymore. His form was changing drastically and his once normal appearance turned grotesque and vile.
His eyes pitch-black, oozing with blood, mouth full of jagged, sharp teeth, rotting arms leading to lethal claws, and a new found love for bloodlust.
I quietly watched as the small child sunk his canines into the flesh of one of the guards. He bellowed in pain as Jamie chewed and tore off his skin. The other guards crowded around Jamie and tried to aim their guns once more to see if they could have the finishing blow.
But seeing as how they didn't learn from the first time, Jamie still trudged towards the guards as their bullets momentarily made him stagger in his path.
With one quick wave of his hand, Jamie beheaded one man and chewed off another's hand with his teeth. One by one, each man suffered from the intense pain the boy was inflicting on them or howled with disgust and horror as they stared at their missing limbs.
I gritted my teeth and forced my eyes shut as the screams of agony and fear echoed through the hallway. The strong smell of blood clung to the air and flooded my nostrils. I recoiled from the scene and briskly turned around as I hugged myself for comfort.
Death was everywhere.
In every corner, in every room, and in every person. Be it Jamie or not, there was always someone brutally murdering someone else. That's how my life has come to be, nothing more than gory instances of death.
"(Y/N)! Come on! We have to leave now before their reinforcements show up!", Jamie yelled over the cries of pain from the dying guards and I hesitantly stared back. With much reluctance, I glanced over all the bodies and carefully ran through them so as to not step on any bloody remains.
Once I made it to Jamie, he quickly grasped my wrist and started leading me down a corridor. We ran with impeccable speed and past several rooms along the way.
Many of the rooms held metal doors, like mine, but they all seemed to be empty. With curiosity, I cocked my head in confusion as I wondered why Gabriel would require such a heavily armed and secured building for so many inmates. Who could possibly be more dangerous than Jack?
I shook my head and dismissed the odd speculation as I returned my attention back to Jamie. He was hurriedly scanning over all the doors and seemed to be concentrating on finding a certain number plate.
As we began to slow down, Jamie looked over a plate and his eyes widened. I frowned and stared at the plate, "What wrong?", I asked. Jamie shook his head and forcefully pulled on my wrist as we changed direction and sped off to somewhere else.
"Master isn't in his cell!", Jamie yelled over the loud sirens and gritted his teeth angrily, "Gabriel either presented him to the Task Force already, or...", Jamie's expression suddenly became conflicted with worry and I frowned.
"Or what?", I peered into Jamie's face and asked sternly.
"Or... They're probably getting ready to transfer him now!"
My eyes widened and I felt anxiety welling up inside of me. Worry and desperation were beginning to overcome me and the chance of me being able to reunite myself with Jack seemed distant and untrue.
"We shouldn't doubt Master, (Y/N)! I know you're worried and scared of what might happen, but I'm sure everything will work out in the end! Just bare with me for a while longer, okay?", Jamie grinned brightly and his smile brought warmth and courage to my heart.
I nodded my head and he giggled before returning his attention back on the matter at hand.

{Narrator's POV}
"Well Jack, it seems our paths separate from here. I have to say, I enjoyed our little 'quarrel'. I'd even say it was the most riveting part of my life so far", the sandy brunette exclaimed as he glanced one last time at the clown before turning towards the door.
Jack raised his head and stared at the chains restraining him to the wall. He didn't exactly feel any emotion at the moment, he felt quiet empty without a certain (H/C)-haired woman beside him.
However, every time he did think of her, his mind wondered off to the times he'd kissed her or drowned in her sweet warmth.
"Wait. How is (Y/N)? Is she alright?", Jack mumbled as he stared down at the floor, his mind recalling the last time he saw her beautiful, dazzling smile. Yes, that adorable smile; the one that made him fall in love with her.
"Oh, she's where I promised she'd be... Living her life as any ordinary person would. Why do you ask?", Gabriel muttered uninterestingly as he looked at the clown from over his shoulder, his hand hovering over the doorknob.
Jack's malicious, dark, eyes lit up and he raised his head to stare at the man. A grin nudged on his face and he soon smiled creepily.
"No reason... But Gabriel, you're right! I have also enjoyed our time together...and I say why should it end like this? Don't you think it deserves a better finale? Hehe...Hahaha..", Jack's insanity was beginning to burst from his seams as thoughts of Gabriel's body spread out on the floor, bloody and dissembled, filled the clown with utter joy and amusement.
The sandy brunette shook his head and smirked at the clown, "A better finale you say? Hasn't this gone long enough? Look..", Gabriel paused and began to contemplate about something. Jack tilted his head as he watched the man brood over whatever he was deciding in his head.
Then, with a light chuckle, Gabriel turned his attention back to the clown and stepped closer to him. "If you want to know what'll happen when you're gone, it's simple. You see, thanks to you I have gained an interest in law enforcement. And now that I've more than proven myself handy to the police, I hope to continue my work", the sandy brunette beamed.
Jack, unnerved by Gabriel's response, frowned and felt his claws twitch, "Work?", he asked suspiciously.
Gabriel nodded his head and stretched out his arms pridefully, "Yes! I plan on capturing ALL the criminals that seem to sneak past the police! I know they're out there! Ones just like you! And soon, I'll have them here, imprisoned and embarrassed for the rest of their lives!"
Silence filled the room.
Jack stared at Gabriel's expression again and pondered whether he was speaking the truth or not. But now, as he noticed the ambition and insanity in his eyes, Jack knew that Gabriel would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.
Knowing that, Jack shook his head and chuckled to himself.
"'Round and round the cobbler's bench, the monkey chased the weasel... The monkey thought 'twas all in fun..."
Gabriel furrowed his eyebrow and raised his hands defensively as the monochrome clown began singing a nursery rhyme.
Jack fixated his gaze on Gabriel and his devilish grin slowly widened with utter delight as he reached the climax.
"POP! Goes the weasel!"

{Reader's POV}
Jamie and I relentless searched through every hall and scanned over every number plate, but as time began to tick by faster than we'd liked, anxiety began to overcome us.
Then, after another attempt of searching for the monochrome clown, Jamie suddenly tripped as he gazed at a window. I hurriedly grabbed him and helped regain his balance.
Jamie's eyes widened and his smile grew bigger as his eyes stared at the window in front of us.
"He's in there!", Jamie shouted excitedly as he pointed at the metal door and window. I smiled and quickly pushed the door open.
But as I stepped inside the room, blood splattered onto the wall beside me and my eyes widened in horror.
I stared into the room and witnessed as Jack struck his claw through Gabriel's chest and impaled him with his entire arm. The sandy brunette's eyes were wide as he began to gurgle up blood. His body jolted and spas uncontrollably as he dangled in the air.
Jack gazed at the bloody body in front of him with morbid fascination and grinned as he ripped out Gabriel's organs.
Shoving him to the ground, he dug his claws inside Gabriel and gleefully placed his palms inside the gaping hole in his victim. A light flashed inside the dying brunette and soon piles of candy slid down the edges of his wounds as they became too numerous to fit all inside him.
Jack howled with laughter and reveled in Gabriel's pathetic form.
I, however, dropped to my knees and stared at the horrific scene in front of me. Tears trickled down my cheeks and I felt my lips quivering from the sobs I was trying to hold back.
As much as I hated Gabriel with every ounce of my being, what I've seen today will never be erased from my mind.
