Chapter 25
{Reader's POV}
Waiting inside the white room was beginning to drive me insane. Everywhere I looked there was always white, nothing but white. The chairs, bed, lamp, and the dresser were ALL white.
The seemed to be no end of it. At some point, I couldn't even distinguish when one thing started and the next ended. All the furniture had been chosen so wisely that nothing seemed to have a lighter or darker shade of white.
The only thing this room had for color, was me.
I seemed to stick out like a sore thumb with my modest clothes and nude colors.
I let out a sigh and glanced at my silver watch. The hands ticked by and with every minute that passed, my nerves began to escalate. It had been precisely two hours since Gabriel left me alone in the white room and I was beginning to worry.
My confidence was always with Jack and I knew Gabriel could never stand a chance against him but...
Gabriel wasn't like his father. They had many of the same attributes and habits sure, but Gabriel is more devious than his father.
Stan was the Chief of Police, he valued justice over anything else and never let his ambitions waver—even if that meant sacrificing a few people here and there, like he had done with me for instance.
While, on the other hand, Gabriel wasn't alleged with the police. He could care less about justice or morals when he deeply cared about something.
And revenge was the first on his list of ambitions.
"Hey lady! You're foods here!", a masculine voice echoed through the room as a man stood behind the metal door. I frowned and watched as he slid my plate of food through a small opening.
He waved goodbye and left me alone for the second time today. For some reason they believed I get hungry easily.
I huffed and looked away from the food as I went back to brooding about Jack.
I was leaning against the wall as I hugged my legs closer to my chest for warmth. Not only were the bodyguards bad at telling when a woman became famished, they also couldn't tell when she'd get cold.
They were a bunch of morons if you asked me.
"Hey lady!"
I knitted my eyebrows and grumbled curses under my breath as the bodyguard returned. His voice struck annoyance and I half-wished I had a pair of earbuds with me.
"The boss is back and wants to talk to you."
My heart stopped and my breath hitched as the guard's voiced carried itself throughout the room.
My face turned pale and I clenched my hands into fists, "Leave me alone! Tell him to go away!", I protested and dug my head in between my thighs with my elbows crossed on top.
The guard grunted and opened the door anyway to let the young man walk in. I tightened my jaw and pouted as the sound of his footsteps came closer.
However, this time there was another pair of footsteps along with Gabriel's. I knitted my eyebrows and raised my head to see who else he had brought to see me.
As I stared up at the sight of dark, malicious eyes, my heart began racing again. My eyes widened and I gawked at the monochrome clown that stood before me. I quickly hauled myself off the ground and smiled warmly at him, "Jack! God, I'm so happy—",
"Don't get up."
I tensed up and immediately froze on the spot. I frowned and stared at Jack with worry in my eyes, "...What?", I asked, my voice shaky and barely audible.
"I said stay back. Don't come anywhere near me", he scowled aggressively towards me. I flinched where I stood and felt a tight pressure on my chest.
"Jack... What are you talking about—"
"Can't you understand?! I said stay the hell away from me!!", he bellowed and glared daggers at me.
"DON'T EVER SPEAK TO ME AGAIN. I'LL RIP YOUR VICAL CHORDS OUT AND KILL YOU IF I HAVE TO. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!," he snarled and clenched his claws into fists. He trembled with so much anger and sent a menacing stare towards me that I felt my heart sink.
His face showed no signs of warmth or affection and he appeared to only possess a deep hatred for me.
A lump in my throat formed and I felt tears trickling down my hots cheeks. Embarrassment and remorse surged though me and my knees began to tremble.
"...Jack...B..But I love you", I whispered unconsciously and shocked myself once I realized what I said.
But it was true.
I had fallen for the monochrome clown and felt pain to have him reject me.
I clenched my eyes shut and covered my face with my hands as I sunk to the ground. The tears stormed down my face and left me as a sobbing mess of grief.
My shoulders trembled and my body felt weak as I cried through my cold hands. The sound of Jack's footsteps echoed though my red ears and sent a piercing pain through my body. I lost all my composure and slumped entirely on the floor.
My body shivered on the cold tiles and I sobbed and cried as the last of the footsteps left the room...

{Narrator's POV}
Jack stepped out of the room and gritted his teeth in brittle anger. His claws trembled and the grief he felt for hurting (Y/N) like that slowly began to kill him from the inside. His heart ached to see her lying on the ground weeping from the rejection, but he couldn't go back and change that.
"She'll recover. All woman recover from a breakup, it's only natural to move on", Gabriel muttered impassively under his breath and sparked rage into Jack. The monochrome clown growled and thrusted the young man against the wall.
Gabriel gasped and winced from the impact as blood trickled down his back. He slammed his eyes shut and hung his head forward to shiver from the striking pain of his ribs cracking.
"And that was only an ounce of pain compared to what I caused to (Y/N)!! Enlighten me Gabriel, do you think you could recover from that?!", Jack mocked the young man and grinned evilly as he puked up blood.
"Ah..! At least...at least she won't...e..end up..in p..prison..!", Gabriel retaliated and frowned at Jack as he clutched his chest with a shaky hand. The monochrome clown grunted in return and gazed back at the metal door (Y/N) was behind.
Guilt and anger coursed through his mind and he angrily punched the wall in front of him. He left a giant dent in it and the wall almost crumbled and toppled over Gabriel. The young man however darted away and missed the fatal blow.
Jack huffed and leaned against the wall as he gazed at the zombie children. They looked down at their feet and timidly remained a few feet away from their master, frightened to have him take his anger out on them too. Jack let out a sigh and turned his attention back to the man as he wheezed on the ground.
"Say, what did you do with my music box?", Jack muttered as he gazed at Gabriel's bloody figure. The young man winced as he clutched his chest and frowned at the clown. "My men h..have it. We'll ship it to the...the Task Force...and have them all t..touch it. Then, we'll re..reveal you to..to them", Gabriel panted as he slowly got off the ground.
Jack glared at the young man and felt disgust by just hearing him refer to the police. But he had to remember this was all for (Y/N)'s sake.
Although, Jack still wasn't completely on board with the idea of being in someone else's custody. He'd only humor Gabriel for a while before making his grand escape. Jack would slaughter all the men that came in between him and his freedom.
Besides, all he wanted was to be out of (Y/N)'s life forever. And as much as he hated the idea of not being abled to see her beautiful smile again, he had to accept it. It was for the best anyway.
"B...But first...! I need..y..you to get rid..of the children...they're too..too..much of a thr..threat..", Gabriel wheezed as he pointed toward the children and frowned with disgust and horror.
Jack sighed and snapped his fingers.
A black portal appeared in the middle of the hallway and the children immediately looked at it. Jack pointed his thumb towards it and glared at the zombie kids, "Go", he ordered and they quickly obeyed.
Wind swirled around the portal as the last of the kids entered and left the human world. Gabriel closed his eyes and sighed in relief to see the hellish children leave his sight.
Everything was going as planned. Gabriel reveled in the thought of finally killing Jack once he'd imprison him in front of the whole world. Nothing would stand in his way and Jack would never know about the set up between him and (Y/N).
Gabriel chuckled to himself as he thought of (Y/N)'s crying features appearing in an asylum. Sure he promised the clown that she'd return to her normal life, but there was still justice to be uphold. She needed to pay for her crimes like any other normal person.
But little did Gabriel know, that Jack didn't exactly send all the children away.
No, one stayed and lurked in the shadows—watching Gabriel's every move...
