Random fact: This was inspired by frozen cause it just made sense along with the empires series.

Just know that I'm not a doctor or anything so if something about Scott's injuries are wrong I don't know anything about it :)

This chapter is also very long so that's why it took days to write it- this is also the longest chapter I have ever written so you better enjoy.

Third Person POV

Scott stared at the ground in shock.

The crystal was broken in half.

He dropped to the floor and took each part of the crystal in his hands.

He felt a presence behind him and looked back only to see a black flash.

He swiftly stood up and ran up the stairs and out of the mountain.

He scanned the area as his eyes landed on a black figure standing in front of his castle.

Xornoth stood in front of his brother's ice palace smirking.

The younger grit his teeth, "Xornoth..." He started saying his older brother's name with venom.

"Hello dear brother~" Xornoth spoke, his devilish smirk still plastered on his face.

"Your new empire would be boring to corrupt. Luckily I can corrupt the empires of your friend's~" The demon let out a chuckle and disappeared. Scott cursed to himself as he let his brother get away.

He couldn't let Xornoth bring chaos to the world anymore, him and his friends had already suffered for way too long.

Fighting and killing him would be the best option, Gem isn't here to help contain him. Scott would've been way too scared to ask her anyway, he didn't want to hurt her again.

He could maybe kill him with his weapons and powers but he had left his Rivendell sword in Rivendell, the one place he swore to never come back to. He had to do it, for his friends.

So with one last sigh, he shot into the sky and headed for his empire.

After flying through many different biomes, he had finally reached Rivendell. It was a lot colder then he remembered, maybe its just his powers. The ice spikes were still here though.

He landed gracefully on his stone path, after a quick glance around Rivendell he walked towards his secret meeting room.

Once arriving, he pressed a stone button and watched as the stone opened revealing a hallway to his meeting room.

He slowly walked inside the hallway and into his meeting room, it was still the same. He walked down the stairs and turned left to see his table sitting under the stairs.

On the table was his golden antlers and his sword, he carefully picked up the antlers and placed them on his head. Still a perfect fit.

He then picked up his sword, carefully caressing the shiny silver blade. Calming himself, he left his meeting room.

Maybe he could grab something from his house, to remind him of something he loved or from Rivendell.

He carefully placed his sword in his sheath and headed for his house. Upon arriving, he slowly opened the door. Luckily, no one was there.

He silently closed the door and walked upstairs, a golden shine caught his eye. It was his ring.

He walked up to it and carefully picked it up, it wasn't dusty meaning someone had been taking care of his stuff. Most likely Jimmy.

A small smile was plastered on his face, he slipped the ring on his ring finger and smiled. He glanced at his crown, it was still clean and shiny.

He smiled and left back down the stairs, as he reached downstairs, he was met with a white staircase leading down. The stairs were in the place where the carpet was supposed to be.

Scott hesitated but went down the stairs, he could see a faint glow from the bottom of the stairs.

He reached the bottom and saw a huge cave with glowing cyan carvings written in galactic on the wall. There were vines over the carvings making it hard to read the carvings.

He kept on walking admiring the carvings on the wall, he reached the end of the cave to be met with a beautiful sword floating above a white pedestal that was littered with glowing cyan carvings.

He carefully took the sword in his hands and admired it. The grip was made of dark oak wood, the pommel was made out of gold and had a blue crystal in the middle, on top of the grip was a golden owl with its wings spread, the blade was a shiny silver with glowing cyan carvings written in galactic.

On top of the pedestal was a carving written in gold. 

'The Rune Blade'

A thud was heard above him, his house was right above this cave meaning someone had to be here. Whoever that person is they haven't seen the staircase, maybe they were outside? 

Scott took out his Rivendell sword and placed the rune blade in his sheath, he ran out of the cave to see the staircase still there. He walked up the staircase and tightened his grip on his sword. He finally got to his house, it was still the same. 

Then what was that thud? He glanced around his house before walking outside, the glow on his mark shows how much he's nervous. He walked out of his home and scanned the area around his empire, his eyes landed on a black figure with giant horns standing on Aeor's church. 

Scott's POV

I stared at my brother, he stared back at me. He looked away and jumped off of the roof slowly falling down before landing on the ground. 

"Hello again, brother..." He said, "How did you get out?! We traped you!" I yelled, "Not very well, that pathetic excuse of a wizard has a lot to learn if she thinks that's magic. But she won't get trying to learn anything once I'm done with her." He chuckled, I grit my teeth. 

"Don't hurt them! I'm not going to let you!" I yelled, "Oh? You care for them? You couldn't even help them when I wasn't here, you just hurt them~" He said walking towards me, I start to back up. I can't let him get to my head, he's just trying to manipulate me. But, what he said was true, I did hurt them.. 

"I might have hurt them, but I can control my powers now. I'm not letting you hurt them." I say, "What are you gonna do? Fire melts ice brother, I gave you that curse and I know what it can do. You can't stop me." He said, a red corrupted tentacle appeared behind him, "I can easily kill you, maybe I'll kill that fish boy you're so fond of as well." He added. 

My eyes widened, "LEAVE JIMMY ALONE!" I snapped, Xornoth's smirk just became wider. "Maybe I will, once I deal with you first."  Xornoth lifted his arm in the air and dropped it, a bright red light blinded my vision. 

Once the light faded, I open my eyes. There was fire and lava everywhere, all of the ice spikes were replaced with red corrupted tentacles, the crystals in the sky were now covered in lava, the stag statue was completely broken. 

Xornoth had a red and black scythe in his hand, there were glowing marks that looked like veins on his left arm, and there were red marks under his eyes. "Look at your empire, gone and broken." He chuckled walking towards me, "You're next." He said running to me at full speed, I put my sword in front of me just as he was about to hit me. 

The sound of our weapons clashing was all you could hear. I managed to cut Xornoth's cheek but I felt mine starting to hurt, I backed away and touched my cheek. I pulled my hand back to see it covered in blood. 

Xornoth was about to swing his scythe at me making me snap out of my shock, I quickly made an ice spike so he cut through the iec spike instead of me.

He jumped back and ran back to me at full speed, his left hand had a ball of dark magic. I stomped my foot on the ground and 3 ice spikes sprouted out of the ground right in front of me.

An ice spike managed to scrape Xornoth's shoulder, I felt a stinging pain in my shoulder. My jacket had a red stain meaning my shoulder was bleeding.

How could I forget, me and Xornoth are connected so if he gets killed I will die. But then there's only one way to defeat him...

I snapped out of my thoughts when I realized that Xornoth had another ball of dark magic in his hand, the magic nearly hit me but I managed to make another ice spike, It sprouted from under me and carried me up to the sky.

There's only one way to defeat him, I can't get Gem here in time to trap him again. Plus, if I did defeat him everyone would be happy, but I-

"Follow your heart..."

"Do it..."

I heard the voices of Aeor and Exor, seems like Xornoth was thinking the same thing.

I stared at him dead in the eyes, not once breaking the eye contact. I could see Xornoth making another ball of dark magic, I started to make a bunch of little ice crystals behind me.

Xornoth's red marks were glowing, I'm guessing mine was glowing too. Xornoth leaped upwards towards me as I leaped down towards him. My crystals were following behind me getting ready to hit Xornoth's magic.

"This is your end brother." Xornoth laughed, I sworn I could see Exor behind him doing the same pose as him, judging by Xornoth's face I'm guessing Aeor's behind me. I sighed, "Its yours as well brother." Xornoth lunged his magic filled arm towards me, I aimed my crystals right for his magic.

"Goodbye brother~"  Was the last thing I heard before his magic and my crystals collided, a white light blinded my vision.

BOOM

Gem's POV

"Relax Jimmy, he's probably fine. He can take care of himself." I explained, I was with Jimmy at my empire trying to comfort him. He hasn't been the best since the incident with Scott and since Xornoth escaped.

Jimmy was rambling about all sorts of things that could have happened to Scott. I was trying to get him to calm down, "What if he needs our help, what if he's cold there, what if Xornoth hurt him?!-" Jimmy rambled getting cut off by me shushing him.

I placed both my hands on his shoulder, "Listen, he's fine out there. He can take care and fend for himself, we should also give him space." I started, Jimmy nodded, slowly calming down.

"He's fine, plus, if Scott needed help he-" I said getting cut off by hearing a huge explosion which Jimmy flinched at. "W-What was that?!" He stuttered curling up into a ball on my couch.

I curiously and nervously walked to my balcony, I looked out to see a huge explosion at Rivendell. Rivendell and the Crystal Cliffs were pretty close so we could see a bit of a silhouette of each others empires.

"Looks like I spoke too soon." I sighed, "What is it?" Jimmy asks, getting off of the couch, "It could most likely be Xornoth's doing but we have to check." I said pointing towards the huge explosion.

Jimmy looked to where I was pointing and his jaw dropped, "T-THAT'S SCOTT'S- WE- XORNOTH-" He stuttered in panic, "We could go there to check it out if you want to." I offered knowing Jimmy cares a lot about Scott, he's been taking care of his empire while he's been gone.

Jimmy nodded frantically, he equipped his elytra and I gave him extra rockets just in case. Me and Jimmy jumped off my balcony and shot into the sky, we glided over to Rivendell.

When we got there we were met with a sight we were definitely not ready to see, Scott was on his knee's and there was a huge stab wound in his stomach, the left side of his hip looked like it was sliced by something and he was bleeding badly. He had wounds and cuts all over his body, his shoulder was bleeding, there was a huge cut on his eye, there was blood spilling out of his mouth, and the side of his forehead was bleeding.

Rivendell was in ruins, there was fire, lava, ice, red corruption, and red corrupted tentacles everywhere.

My eyes landed on Xornoth who had a scythe in his hand, he was on one knee and also bleeding.

Xornoth managed to get up so I grabbed my staff and ran in front of Scott making a protective barrier around us before Xornoth shot a laser of dark magic at us.

Third Person POV

As Scott's crystals and Xornoth's magic collided, it created a huge explosion big enough to knock back both brothers.

Scott got knocked back into a wall, he hit the side of his forehead making it bleed badly. All he could feel was pain, being knocked back to a wall didn't make it any better. He slid down on the grass, his blood coating the green grass red.

As the white light faded, Scott opened his eyes. He looked around, his house was on fire, there was ice and corruption everywhere.

Xornoth laid against a mountain, his forehead was bleeding like Scott's, his back hurt like hell from hitting the mountain, his shoulder was still bleeding, and one of Scott's crystals managed to graze his eye so that was bleeding too.

Xornoth stood up ignoring the pain in his body and grabbed his scythe, somehow he couldn't easily heal his wounds. He charged at Scott with full speed. Scott noticed and stood up, the pain in his body told him to stay put but he ignored it. He grabbed his sword and placed it in front of him ready to clash with Xornoth's scythe.

As expected, Xornoth's scythe clashed with his sword but with so much power his sword flew out of his hands and landed on a rock.

Scott stumbled and fell down, he groaned and grit his teeth in pain. "This is your end brother~" the older smirked, the Rivendell king just chuckled. "I have other plans."

He swiftly stood up and kicked Xornoth in the stomach, he then felt a sharp pain in his stomach but ignored it. He pulled out the Rune Blade from his sheath and got in a fighting stance.

Xornoth who had just recovered from being knocked back had his eyes wide, "T-The Rune Blade!? How did you get it?!" He yelled, "So, you know what it is. You know what it does." The younger spoke.

"Of course I do! That's the Rune Blade! Your so called mentor made it and killed Exor!" The demon yelled, Scott smirked. 'So it can kill him huh?' He thought.

Scott's POV

I took off running and clashing my blade with Xornoth's.

There's only one way to kill him.

That was to kill me.

We're connected, so if one of us dies then the other dies too.

I'm sure Gem, Jimmy, and everyone else will be heart broken but...

I have to do what's right.

If I die then, everyone will be safe. Safe from Xornoth and myself. That's all I wanted, for all my friends to be safe.

I jumped back and ran at him again clashing my sword with his scythe. I made ice spikes in front off him catching him off guard making him jump back and groan in pain.

I took this chance to run towards him and stab him, I lunged my sword at his chest and prepared myself for the pain I was about to feel.

"It's not my end..." I trailed off, "It's ours." I whispered before stabbing him in the chest, Xornoth screamed in pain and sliced my left hip with his scythe. He stumbled back and fell to the floor.

I dropped on my knees as pain shot through my body, Xornoth's hip was also bleeding.

I felt a sharp pain on my stomach, it felt like a thousand needles going through my body. I clutched in pain as I coughed up blood.

Even though only one of my eyes were open, I could see Xornoth slowly getting up, all I felt was pain and the blood in my mouth. I didn't have any strength to stand up and fight him again.

My shoulder is bleeding, I have a huge stab wound, my hip is sliced, there was blood spilling out of my mouth, countless wounds all over my body, and my other eye was grazed and covered with blood from my wound on my forehead. There was no way I could fight him.

The rune blade sat beside me, the blade was covered in blood. I had to grab it, but my body wouldn't grab it.

Xornoth had a ball of dark magic in his hands, he was somehow walking, the blood still dripping off of his body. I closed my eyes and prepared myself for the blast that was about to hit me.

But...

It never came.

All I heard was two pair of footsteps running our way, then I felt Xornoth's magic near me but it never hit me.

I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around me. "SCOTT!" They yelled.

Wait...

I know that voice...

"J-Jimmy?"

Jimmy's POV

"SCOTT!" I ran to Scott right after Gem ran and wrapped my arms around him, he was still breathing which was good.

He opened his eyes and stared at me, shocked. "J-Jimmy?" He mumbled, coughing up blood after which made my grip on him tighten. I nuzzled my head in his shoulder and cried.

Seeing my husband like this broke my heart, he went through so much. Gem was taking care of Xornoth so we'll be fine for now. He was bleeding badly so that's a problem.

Scott's eyes started to close making me panic, I couldn't loose him, I cried even harder but didn't panic as much since he still has a pulse. I held onto him tight as Gem ran over to us after Xornoth fell limp on the floor. "SCOTT!!" I loosened my grip on Scott so Gem could check his injuries.

"What happened here?!" A voice yelled.

Gem's POV

I ran in front of Scott and made a protective barrier around us, Jimmy ran over to Scott and checked on him. My eyes were staring right into Xornoth's eyes. He seemed surprised that we were here but blasted a laser of black magic at us anyways.

The magic hit the barrier making me stumbled back a bit since I was holding the barrier up with my staff. He stopped blasting the laser and stared at me. I let the barrier down signalling that I was willing to fight him.

I shot my magic at him but he dodged, I shot my magic at hin again but he dodged again. I was trying to get him to faint so I can deal with Scott. He shot his magic at me but I made another barrier so it didn't hit me.

I let down the barrier and he shot his magic at me again catching me off guard. His magic managed to graze my cheek but I shot my magic at him again, it finally hit him. I watched as Xornoth froze and fell limp to the ground.

I ran over to Scott who was passed out, "SCOTT!!" I yelled, Jimmy loosened his grip on him so I can check him. He had a lot of wounds and he was bleeding badly.

"What happened here?!" A voice yelled.

I look up to see Katherine slowly landing a few feet from me, "I heard an explosion and came here, what happe- OH MY GOD SCOTT!!" She explained yelling once seeing Scott's condition. She ran over to him and checked his wounds.

Scott was leaning on a very worried and crying Jimmy, once Katherine finished checking his wounds she pulled out a  healing potion and poured it on some of his wounds.

"What happened to you guys?!" She asked worriedly noticing my cheek covered in blood, she pulled out another healing potion and poured a little bit on my cheek. Soon enough I felt no more pain in my cheek.

"Thank you Katherine, and to answer your question..." I trailed off looking at Jimmy who was still crying. I turned back to her, "We heard an explosion here too and came to check. Then we just found Scott and Xornoth like this."

"I-Is Scott gonna be okay?..." Jimmy asks, Katherine sighed. "The healing potions wont work on his wound, but he might survive." She said giving Jimmy a bit of hope.

I heard a groan coming from Scott, "SCOTT!" We yelled in unison, Scott started to cough up blood. Katherine took out a potion of healing and put it against Scott's lips, he immediately drank it and stopped coughing.

Thank god he was alive.

Scott's POV

I stood in a dark room.

I didn't feel any pain, I must have passed out.

I could hear talking, I could hear Gem and Jimmy. But there was someone else.

I could tell they were a female, but who?

I could feel myself start to wake up, the feeling of pain coming back to me.

I groaned, I heard people yelling my name and I started coughing up blood. I felt a bottle of something on my lips, I wasted no time and drank whatever was in the bottle.

The pain was a bit better, I leaned against who I think was Jimmy and stared at the new person in front of me.

Katherine.

I'm guessing she was the one who gave me the potion.

"Scott! What happened to you?!" Katherine asked, "I-I fought with Xornoth-" I managed to say before coughing up more blood. "Stop talking! You'll loose more blood!" I heard Jimmy say.

I nodded, "So you were in a fight with Xornoth?" Gem spoke, I nodded again. "Why Scott?" Jimmy mumbled.

"I had too." I mumbled loud enough for them to hear, "You had too? Why?" Katherine spoke, "It was for your own good." I whispered.

Everyone went silent.

The quiet had never been so loud, I decided to break it. "I-I had to make sure y-you were s-safe." I started, nearly coughing up more blood.

"Even after I'm gone..." I whispered, I heard Katherine gasp. Sobs escaped Gem's lips as she looked at the ground, Katherine started crying too and Jimmy was crying again.

I knew I wouldn't survive, I always knew. I had to do it, I had to ensure the safety of my friends. If I didn't sacrifice myself then, my friends won't be able to live in peace.

That's not what I wanted, I wanted them to be safe and happy. Looking at them crying now broke my heart, but I knew what I did was right.

I used the strength I had left to place my hand on Jimmy's tear stained cheek, he opened his teary eyes and stared into mine.

Third Person POV

"S-Scott..." he mumbled catching Gem's and Katherine's attention.

He placed his hand on top of Scott's, "Jimmy, I'm sorry for what I had to do." He weakly said, "No...You can't leave me!" Jimmy cried, Scott smiled, "I have to, take care of everyone for me love." He whispered.

Jimmy nodded knowing he couldn't stop what was about to happen. He noticed something golden shining on Scott's hand.

It was his ring.

Scott pulled Jimmy's face down and kissed him catching Jimmy off guard. Jimmy was surpised but kissed back knowing this was the last time he would ever feel his lips on his own.

He could feel the blood in his mouth but that didn't break their kiss, Jimmy and Scitt eventually pulled away and stared into each others eyes.

"I'm sorry, Jimmy." Scott said, his eyes drooping. Jimmy started crying even more.

Jimmy could feel Scott's pulse weakening, "I love you..." he mumbled before slowly closing his eyes with a smile, his mark stopped glowing and it slowly started to fade.

Everyone's eyes widened, Jimmy held onto Scott's lifeless body yelling for him to come back, he knew he was never going to come back yet he still screamed for him.

Gem and Katherine cried silently while Jimmy cried on Scott's lifeless body. Gem looked over to the side and saw that Xornoth's body was gone.

Scott had did it, he defeated Xornoth. By sacrificing himself.

Jimmy could feel Scott's body slowly turning colder and colder, an ice spike appeared behind Scott making Jimmy yelp and stumble back, he backs away slowly not noticing he had let go off Scott.

Gem and Katherine ran to his side and helped him up, more ice spikes appeared around Scott's body. An ice spike appeared under him and lifte him up so he was sort of standing.

Scott's mark was now fully gone, his wounds were all healed yet he didn't wake up, he was covered and surrounded by ice. Jimmy slowly walked over to the ice spike and placed his hand on it.

He dropped on his knees and silently cried, Katherine and Gem walked over to his side and comforted him.

After hours of comforting they managed to get Jimmy away from Rivendell and took him to Lizzie. Lizzie upon hearing the news was heartbroken, her and Scott were close and it was heartbreaking to hear that her brother-in-law was dead.

Joel was also very sad, he and Scott shared a brotherly bond together. It took days to get Jimmy to let go of Lizzie and stop crying, news spread quick and everyone was sad upon hearing Scott's death.

Joey was extremely sad about the fact that his husband was dead, everyone was happy that Xornoth is gone forever but no one was happy about Scott.

This was it.

The end.

The end of evil.

This is the end of them.

Scott floated in a black void, he didn't know how he got there.

He just woke up there.

He didn't feel any pain.

He wasn't cold anymore.

He was dead.

He still looked the same but a bit more faded, he could see right through his body.

He blinked and now he was in an endless field of flowers.

He looked around, it was beautiful. It reminded him of him and Jimmy back in 3rd life.

He sat down and picked a flower, a bright light appeared in front of him.

"My champion." It started.

"Aeor?" Scott spoke, his voice had an echo and it was quieter.

"Yes, you have done well." He added.

"Thank you, Aeor." Scott whispered.

"Thank you for forever banishing my brother, it was sad you had to sacrifice yourself, but it was for the better." Aeor said, Scott smiled.

Aeor smiled, "I'm proud of you, Scott. I really have chosed an amazing sucessor."

Scott was shocked, but smiled. "I'm honored, Aeor." He said bowing.

Aeor smiled, then disappeared into thin air.

Scott smiled as well, guess he will be here for the rest of his days.

Watching over his friends as a new generation is born.

Patiently waiting for his friends and his beloved husband to join him.

Waiting years and years just to meet his friends again, to be happy again.

With his friends and his husband.
