Chapter 1
Flashback-
Nandini: Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen I want your attention here
Present-
“As today is Siddh and Vrinda's engagement, I want to give all of you and the couple a gift... some memories I’d like to show in the form of photos,” Nandini said, standing behind the display as the photos began to appear.
The first photo showed Siddh with Raashi, where Siddh was playfully messing with her. The next one was with Ashish, with Siddh looking at Ashish as though he had committed a crime. Another photo featured Siddh with Akshita, where Siddh was pulling her hair, and Akshita was retaliating. There was also a photo of Siddh and Vishal playing cricket together. In the following picture, Siddh and Ashwini were dancing. Another photo showed Siddh and Niharika working on their projects. The next image was of Vardaan sleeping while Siddh had thrown water on him. Then, there was a picture of Siddh and Tanish eating together.
Suddenly, a video clip started playing. It featured Vrinda’s voice and showed Vrinda in Nandini’s room.
In the clip, Vrinda said, “You think you’re so clever, don’t you? What did you think? That you would come to my house and I wouldn’t know? Siddh and I will get married, and after that, I’ll push you out of this house and show Siddh his place.”
Nandini’s voice responded in the clip, “But you love him!”
Vrinda's voice continued, “What love? I don’t love him. I’m taking revenge. I can’t forget the day he rejected me in college. Just as he made me feel inferior, I’ll make his life a living hell.”
“But Siddh loves you... that night, he was with you in the hotel room,” Nandini said.
“That was all part of my plan,” Vrinda replied. “I spiked his juice with a drug, made him drink it, and then took him to the room. After that, I took photos with him to make it look like we had a relationship, knowing he wasn’t in his senses... and look, the plan worked. Tonight, he’ll be mine,” Vrinda said with a sly smile.
“But why did you do this? Why such a big betrayal, such a huge lie?” Nandini asked, her voice trembling.
“Sorry, sweetheart, but Vrinda has one rule: if you like something, get it. And if you can’t, then destroy it,” Vrinda said coldly. “I’m not interested in Siddh at all, but I am interested in his multi-crore property. That’s why I want to marry him. He wasn’t going to agree willingly, so I had to send those photos to his father. And see? His foolish father believed those pictures more than his own son. Do you know why I’m telling you all this? Because you’re Siddh’s favorite! And I wanted to see how much pain you’d feel after knowing the truth. You can’t do anything about it because I’m the bad queen, sweetheart! Oh, and if Raj Uncle and Indravati Aunty find out, well, I’ve already arranged for an 'accident'... and today, poof! They’re gone,” Vrinda said with a sinister laugh.
“I hate Siddh... I hate his family, and especially you! THE GAME IS ON!” Vrinda declared with a chilling finality.
The clip ended, and all the lights came back on. Vrinda’s truth was now out in the open. Standing beside Siddh, she began to shiver.
“This girl Nandini is lying... she got someone to dub my voice!” Vrinda exclaimed, trying to defend herself.
A loud slap echoed through the room, landing hard on Vrinda’s face. It was her father who had struck her.
Vrinda, shocked, ran toward her mother. “Mom, look! Dad slapped me!”
Her mother, with a stern expression, replied, “I wish he had slapped you sooner.”
The other family members were relieved, but Ashish was silently questioning himself. How could he have believed Vrinda? How did he fall into her trap? Even Siddh was in shock.
“This is all a lie! Nandini is trying to frame me!” Vrinda shouted desperately.
“The truth is out in the open, Vrinda,” Nandini said firmly.
“You bloody bitch!” Vrinda screamed, raising her hand to slap Nandini.
But before she could strike, Nandini grabbed Vrinda’s wrist. In a swift motion, Nandini slapped Vrinda across the face with her other hand.
"This first slap is for your misbehavior,” Nandini said coldly.
Nandini then slapped Vrinda on the other cheek. “This second slap is for taking advantage of Siddh and breaking his heart,” she added, her voice filled with anger.
Finally, Nandini slapped Vrinda once more, her eyes blazing with fury. “And this last slap is FOR THE MURDER YOU COMMITTED OF RAJ UNCLE AND INDRAVATI AUNTY,” she declared with a fierce glare.
Tanish spoke up from the other side of the room, drawing everyone's attention toward him.
"Miss Nandini, here's your order," he said, stepping aside to reveal the police standing behind him.
Nandini gave a subtle signal, and the officers moved forward to arrest Vrinda. Vrinda’s eyes burned with anger as she was taken away, but before the police could lead her out, Niharika, who had just learned that Vrinda had murdered her parents, stepped forward. Without hesitation, Niharika slapped Vrinda hard across the face.
"You are a fucking bastard... you can’t be loved by anyone... You stole my parents from me! How could you?! I know they weren’t perfect, but they still cared for me, Vishal Bhaiya, Siddh, and Akshu. You’re a demon! Just get out of my sight, I don’t want to see your face ever again!" she shouted, her voice breaking as she cried uncontrollably.
Watching all of this, Siddh felt tears well up in his eyes. He had known that Vrinda was responsible for his uncle and aunt’s deaths but had been unable to speak out under her pressure. Now, his gaze turned to Nandini, and he found that she was already looking at him.
Siddh's eyes silently conveyed, “You did all this for me and my family?”
Nandini's eyes responded, “Yes.”
Siddh’s eyes expressed, “Thank you isn’t enough for what you did.”
Nandini's eyes replied gently, “Your presence is enough to say thank you. Now go be with your sister; she needs you.”
Siddh walked over to Niharika, who collapsed into his arms, sobbing. He held her close, trying to stay strong for her. The guests began to leave, and soon only family members remained in the house. Everyone eventually went inside, but Nandini lingered outside, captivated by the beauty of the moon. She sat on a bench, gazing up at the sky, lost in thought.
Akshita quietly approached from behind and sat down beside her.
"Thank you... I know 'thank you' isn't enough bu—" Akshita began.
"Don’t say thank you and make me a stranger. I’m one of your own," Nandini interrupted with a smile.
Akshita’s eyes filled with tears, overwhelmed by the realization that Nandini had done something for her family that they themselves couldn’t do. Nandini had secured a special place in everyone’s heart with her actions.
But as the night grew quieter, one question lingered in the air: Will Nandini ever discover her past? And if she does, will she be able to handle it? Will it become an obstacle between her and Siddh?
