Repetitive loud knocks from the door had Jungkook groaning. As he stirred, his listless body immediately felt the warmth of the morning sun which tells him he's slept for more than he's allowed.

"Chief!"

Few more banging from the door almost made him jump out of bed in anger.

"Make him shut up."

Jungkook stiffened, finally realizing that he's not alone in his bed. He glanced on his side and saw the brunet lying next to him in his birthday suit.

Flashbacks of last night elicited a grunt from his dry lips. He felt so thirsty, most probably because of how intense the two of them were until 3 am.

"Fuck my life." Jungkook sighed, removing the sheets off him as he walked around the room in search for his clothes.

He did not mind the hot gaze directed to his nakedness as he slipped in his boxers and pants before heading for the door.

"Will you calm down?" Jungkook asked as soon as he came face to face with an agitated-looking Seokjin.

"Are you okay, chief? Did the vampire try to do anything inappropriate?"

Jungkook brushed a hand over his disheveled hair before carefully closing the door behind. He noticed Jin's eyes raking up and down his appearance as a glint of embarrassment flashed his eyes before looking away.

"Ehem... chief, you should probably cover those..." Jin mumbled.

Only then did Jungkook realize that he's covered in marks from his chest down to his abdomen and even lower if not for his pants hanging by his waist.

"Fuck..." He murmured, blood rushing to his head in utter humiliation. There's no denying what went down with him and the brunet that night.

"I guess my worries are for nothing." Jin commented as he tried to hide the grin off his face.

"Cut the crap. What brings you here?" Jungkook asked.

"Oh right. Yoongi asked me to fetch you. He's been calling you, but you're not answering."

"Why?"

Jin shrugged, "Maybe he's just worried. Anyway, call him."

A simple nod was Jungkook's response before having Jin walk out of his house.

"I'll be at the station in 30 minutes."

"Copy, Chief."

Jungkook went back inside his room to take a quick shower before heading to the office. As he entered, he saw the brunet walking towards the bathroom in all his nakedness.

There were marks on his honey skin as well, too many to count which only proved how Jungkook ravished him last night.

"Let's bathe together." Taehyung invited.

"I need to be at the station in 30 minutes." Jungkook informed which had the brunet smirking.

"We're just going to bathe together. We won't take long." Taehyung insisted.

Doubtful, Jungkook dragged his feet inside the bathroom where Taehyung waited for him. His eyes followed the water from the shower that trailed down the brunet's skin.

"I thought you're in a hurry?" Taehyung smirked, noticing how the officer kept on staring at his nakedness.

He heard him clear his throat before joining him under the cascading water. A naughty idea popped in his head as he pushed his body closer to Jungkook's own, his palms pressed on his wide chest.

"Are you sure you're in a hurry, hm?" Taehyung whispered seductively. He could feel Jungkook's growing erection pressed on his belly as he traced with his fingers the mark adorning his neck.

"Want me to calm you down?" He continued, gliding his fingers down Jungkook's abdomen and even lower until he reached his target.

He's so stiff and huge for him.

Before the brunet could go down on his knees and suck him, Jungkook turned his body around, chest now pressed on the tiled wall of his bathroom.

"I'll need more than your mouth."

Taehyung groaned when he felt Jungkook's hard shaft entering his still swollen hole.

"Fuck!" He hissed, body slamming on the wall as Jungkook began his carnal thrusts.

His eyes rolled in ecstasy every time Jungkook slammed himself inside, stirring everything in him and blinding him with desire.

A pile of reports welcomed Jungkook upon arriving in his office. There were series of criminalities recorded last night when he was not on duty.

With the briefing of Yoongi, Jungkook was made aware of another unresolved case that involved two vendors from the marketplace just a few blocks from the police station.

No trace of evidence was left on the scene nor witness to support their investigation just like the previous cases.

They were in the middle of a discussion when the two vampires joined.

"You won't catch them by relying on evidence. They work perfectly without a trace." Jimin said, glancing over Yoongi who was wearing a turtle neck shirt to cover his mark.

"What should we do, then?" Mark asked.

All eyes were directed on the two who were knowledgeable about their own kind.

"Nothing." Jimin responded.

"What do you mean nothing?" Jin repeated with a knotted forehead.

"We're not going to do anything unless we're the ones being targeted." Jimin answered without hesitation.

"You're not making any sense. We agreed to form a bond so we could work together to catch those vampires." Yoongi interrupted with the same disbelief as Jin had on his face.

"Correction, I promised to protect you with everything I could while you promised to be my blood source. Other people's concerns are not mine nor yours." Jimin uttered in all seriousness.

"What the fuck? Are you hearing yourself?" Yoongi cursed, rage visible in his eyes.

Jimin just shrugged his shoulders before slumping on the couch as if he did not hear any of Yoongi's remarks.

"This is the reason why I don't want to trust any of you." Yoongi said every word with emphasis.

"I don't need you to trust me. I need you to stay alive for me." Jimin retorted.

"That's enough." Jungkook finally intervened.

"You need to keep your word, both of you." Jungkook uttered, eyes darting from Taehyung to Jimin.

"We can deploy our men around the area where the recent killings occurred to gather evidence just like how we'd usually do, but we all know it's going to be a waste of time." He continued in serious tone.

"If you really don't want to help, just tell us where they're hiding, and let our men handle them." He added, earning a mocking laugh from Jimin.

"What could your men do aside from dying on the spot?" Jimin snorted.

"You really think this is funny?" Jin asked, alarmed.

Jimin shrugged him off.

"Taehyung and I are the only ones who can face them."

"Then why won't you?" Jin asked, exasperated.

"Because that's suicide!"

"You have Yoongi. Didn't you say forming a bond makes you invincible?" Jungkook asked suspiciously.

He's starting to see a gap in the vampires' stories.

"Yes... but that doesn't mean I'll risk our lives just because of that." Jimin answered.

"All you have to do is stay on guard for possible attacks. As long as you're not directly being targeted, just ignore them." He added, making Jungkook's brows furrow in both anger and disbelief.

"You mean to say, you only form bonds with us so we can defend ourselves?" Jungkook asked, finally putting the pieces together.

Jimin was silent. His eyes drifted to Taehyung who was silent the whole time.

"What are you hiding from us?" Jungkook intensely stared at the brunet who finally met his gaze.

"Why are you so sure that they will come to us sooner or later?" He continued to interrogate.

"Because they will." Jimin answered.

"They have always been after the two of you." He added, sighing.

"What?"

"Ever since the incident a year ago, those vampires were set to kill you and Yoongi." Jimin said.

"All those killings... they were made to catch your attention." He continued.

"When they found out that we let the two of you live after drinking your blood, they became curious about your existence. More so when our existence became known to the world because of you, they became eager to kill you."

"But why now? It's been a fucking year." Yoongi asked in disbelief.

"They only found you recently from a newspaper which featured this town for its clean criminal history since you took office." Taehyung answered.

"We had been going to different places for a year to lure them away from this town, but when we realized they finally found you, we had to act."

Taehyung did not want Jungkook to know this truth. He did not want to give him another reason to hate him.

He's dragging Jungkook in his world, putting him in danger even though he does not like to be involved with him again.

Protecting him is his only way as a consolation to all the pain he had caused him. However, it is as clear as the day that his mere presence in Jungkook's life is the sole reason for his sufferings.

After all, being a vampire is a curse.

He is cursed, and Jungkook is his atonement.
