2. Parasites

From the little knowledge Miyo had about Jujutsu sorcerers, she knew they were selfish. They saw everyone as a means to an end. The higher authorities pretended to save the world and set out to destroy curses. They raised young people with cursed energy and trained them to fight for the rest of their lives.

Miyo's mother hadn't specified what ulterior motives they had. Something about absolute power over the Jujutsu world. She said it was a competition between curses and the senior Jujutsu sorcerers. Young people were pawns they used to attain their goals.

"Don't get caught by Jujutsu sorcerers. They will kill you or use you as a piece in their sick game."

Miyo was, let's just say, not cut out for fighting. She had no cursed energy or just any sort of energy to stand her ground against anyone. She looked up at Gojo Satoru and let out a deep sigh. "Fine, I'll tell you everything."

Yuji shifted his gaze between Gojo Satoru and Miyo. "Don't feel intimidated. I have a cursed object inside me as well, if that's any consolation." He said sheepishly. "I'll be executed at some point though." He added. "B-But that doesn't mean you will as well!"

Miyo didn't care.

Gojo Satoru was patiently waiting for her to elaborate. Miyo looked at the time on her wrist watch and her eyes widened. "I only have five minutes before my work starts. Can we discuss this after?" She gave them a hopeful look.

"Sure, we can just come back-"

"No." Gojo Satoru's response was firm, leaving no room for argument.

"Please? I don't want to lose my internship, the management is very strict. I promise, I'll explain it to you. This is a mistake, I don't actually have a cursed object with me." She explained.

Gojo still had his suspicions, but he let her go. Technically, Miyo hadn't lied. She didn't have a cursed object with her because it was really inside of her body. She didn't control that.

While Yuji and Gojo Satoru waited for Miyo, she took the fire exit and used the back gate of the building to escape. Miyo took the next train home. She planned to stay in for the next few days to prevent an encounter with another Jujutsu sorcerer. The fact that she was now on their radar made her stomach churn.

A week later, Miyo was still at home, worried they would find her. She carried her mother's dagger everywhere, in the shower, while cooking food, even beside her pillow when she slept.

On an unfortunate evening, Miyo decided to order food in because she couldn't bother with cooking. As she waited for the pizza to arrive, her phone rang. It was her mentor from college. "Miyo, have you been sick? I'm worried since you've missed classes for a week straight. You know this will affect your attendance score right?"

"Sensei, I'm so sorry I couldn't submit my leave application. I've been in the hospital this past week." She lied. A shadow-like figure moved across the street. She stood on her heels to see what it was, but the sound of her doorbell distracted her. "I'm really okay, so please don't worry about me. I'll come back to classes starting from next week." She reassured her teacher and rushed to open the door.

She happily took her pizza from the deliveryman and locked the door behind her. As she turned around, she saw two people seated on her couch. While Gojo Satoru gave her a cheerful smile, Yuji was surprised to see her.

"You've been in here all this time. I've been waiting for you to return home all week. Do you never turn on the lights or leave the house?" Yuji asked.

"The curses will leave if I turn on the lights." Miyo answered.

"Huh?" Yuji was confused.

"Oh I see." Gojo Satoru nodded. "This house is filled with low grade curses, isn't it?" He looked around and many disfigured entities started emerging from under furnitures and appliances.

Yuji raised his legs from the floor when a curse slithered towards him. "Ew, why do you live like this? They're feeding on your cursed energy!"

"They hide you from the higher grade curses, isn't it?" Gojo Satoru asked. "They're insignificant enough to go unnoticed by higher grade curses as well Jujutsu sorcerers. Did you make them?" He raised an eyebrow at her.

Miyo shook her head. Her mother had made them to keep her hidden from all dangers in the outside world. She just had to stay in there and wait for her mother to return and everything would be taken care of.

"Tell us everything here as you enjoy your dinner," Gojo Satoru started kindly. "Or you can come to Jujutsu High with me and I'll draw information out of you." He offered. The smile on Gojo Satoru's face was sickening. He enjoyed making people suffer.

Miyo didn't waste another second before drawing out the dagger. She wasn't skilled in the art of stabbing, so instead of Gojo Satoru's chest, the blade ripped through the fabric of her couch. He didn't even need to use his Infinity, all he did was move a little to the side. Miyo's aim was poor and her fingers were shaky. There was no way she could win.

"Sensei, are you making fun of her?" Yuji asked in disbelief.

Gojo Satoru ignored him and observed the dagger that Miyo was struggling to remove from the couch. "Isn't that Yui-san's weapon? This just keeps getting interesting." He said in amusement. In one swift movement, he drew the weapon out of the couch and examined its handle. The golden snake carvings confirmed it for him.

"Give it back!" Miyo reached out to snatch it from his hand, but Gojo Satoru drew it further away.

"Did you steal this?" He asked, then with one quick glance at Miyo, changed his mind. "No, someone like you wouldn't dare. Where'd you pick it up?" Gojo Satoru was the king of condescending words.

Yuji was visibly uncomfortable with the choice of words.

"Ah, this is so boring. She won't talk." Gojo Satoru lazily stretched his arms upward, then lifted his foot to crush one of the curses under his shoe.

"What do you think you're doing?!" For the first time that day, Miyo raised her voice and glared at Gojo.

"Killing your beloved pets. I can't believe there's someone weak enough to develop an attachment to curses." Gojo mocked as he picked up a low grade curse. "They're parasites, feeding on your cursed energy and you're letting them. You think they're protecting you. It's hilarious."

"Your cursed energy, your cursed energy," Miyo mumbled, then her voice instantly raised higher. "Don't you understand when I say I don't have any?! I would have killed the two of you if I knew how!"

Gojo Satoru was throwing the bait and Miyo kept biting them. Every single time.

Yuji felt sorry for her. She looked like she had only partial knowledge about the situation. Any Jujutsu sorcerer could tell that the girl was a storehouse of cursed energy, only, it was dormant. Not much of it emanated from her and she easily blended into a crowd of normal people. The only one mistaken here was her.

Gojo Satoru raised another foot to trample a curse and Miyo screamed for him to stop. "Don't kill them! I'll tell you!" She cried.

Jujutsu sorcerers were exactly like what her mother had described them. Heartless, brutal, selfish. Miyo knew there would come a day when she'd be absorbed by a larger curse or captured by the Jujutsu sorcerers. Only, she didn't expect it to be so sudden. So soon.

"Why don't we start from this pretty dagger? Why do you have it?" Gojo Satoru asked as he crossed one leg over the other.

"It belongs to my mother." Miyo gave up.

"That was one of my guesses." He nodded. "I'm sure you don't know where Yui-san is now, do you?"

"Yui-san?" Yuji turned to look at Gojo.

"Zenin Yui. She was a Grade 1 Jujutsu sorcerer back when I was in middle school. She was quite popular for her abilities, if you ask me." Gojo Satoru explained. "Then, she had a fall out with one of the higher ups, so she left. I was quite young, so I'm not sure about the details either."

Somehow, when Gojo Satoru said words like, I don't know or I'm not sure, it was hard to believe him.

"So, what's this cursed object you're carrying around?" Gojo Satoru asked.

Miyo averted her gaze and her throat moved visibly as she gulped. Her heart was beating erratically. What would these people do if they found out? Knowing Jujutsu sorcerers, they were cowards and wouldn't hesitate to kill her.

Suddenly, a mouth appeared on Yuji's cheek. "Brat, are you really that dense? Place your hand on her chest." Sukuna's crude words caused blood to rise up Yuji's neck. His ears and cheeks turned a shade of pink.

"Sh-Shut up! What are you-"

"Oh? I get it!" Gojo Satoru grinned. "Its her heart."

"Huh?" Yuji looked at him in confusion.

"Its a cursed organ, just like Sukuna's finger. Her heart is the cursed object."
