10. Binding Pact

Miyo hadn't visited too many hospitals in her life before. However, now it was clear to her. Hospitals smelled really weird. When her eyes opened, Miyo was greeted by warm orange light that filled the room. It was late in the evening and Miyo could see the sunset from her window. A few steps away from her bed, Gojo Satoru was seated on the couch, his arms folded against his chest and his head hung forward like he was sleeping. His blindfold prevented her from seeing if his eyes were closed.

Miyo shifted a little to sit up on the bed and Gojo Satoru was immediately alerted. He raised his head to look at her. "You woke up? I thought you died or something." Gojo Satoru sounded so cheerful that it was starting to irritate her. "If you went into a coma what would the Jujutsu society do." He laughed.

Miyo paused for a few seconds, then started to get out of the bed. She pulled out the IV that was inserted and taped to the back of her hand. Some blood pooled up, but Miyo didn't care. The most important thing to her was to leave that place. Her feet touched the cold floor and Miyo tried to stand upright.

"Oi oi, calm down," Gojo Satoru stood up to approach her.

"Get lost, you fucking sorcerer." Miyo scowled, then immediately felt light-headed. Gojo Satoru held Miyo's arms to steady her, but he frowned when she was still trying to struggle out of his grip. "...as you wish." Gojo Satoru let go of her arms and Miyo immediately fell back to her bed. "You've been asleep for three days." He informed.

Miyo looked up in surprise. Memories of two horrifying Special Grade curses attacking her in the hospital flashed through her mind. She remembered the excruciating pain that shot through her shoulders and ribs.

"Ah, looks like you remember." Gojo Satoru said upon looking at her fearful expression. "We found you heavily injured, your left shoulder was contorted so badly, you'd never be able to use your entire left arm without Shoko's Reverse Cursed technique." He added.

"Gojo Satoru, you can take a break now." A deep voice sounded from outside the hospital room. Miyo watched as a tall man with blonde hair walked through the door. "Oh, she's awake." He said.

"Nanami! You're so kind to-" Gojo was cut off when Nanami pushed him aside and reached for Miyo's hand. He checked her hand, then raised an eyebrow.

"Who removed the IV?" Nanami asked as he looked Miyo in the eyes. His expressionless face and intimidating build made Miyo reconsider her response. She visibly gulped and looked back at him innocently. Then, she pointed at Gojo Satoru.

"Me? I didn't remove it, you liar!" Gojo Satoru defended.

"This is not right, Miyo-san. We've been here for three days, keeping guard to ensure that you don't get attacked a second time. Yet, here you are disregarding our efforts." Nanami said coldly, yet there was disappointment in his voice.

"I'm sorry?" She wasn't sure why she was apologizing. "I'll be more careful with my health."

"No, I don't actually care about your health, but please make sure you don't die or else 12 hours worth of my overtime work would be in vain." Nanami replied. Miyo was at a loss for words. She realised how interacting with Gojo Satoru wasn't so bad in comparison to this man.

"Okay," Gojo Satoru clapped his hands to intervene. "We had plans to take you to Jujutsu High anyway today, irrespective of whether you woke up or not. Shoko said your vitals are all stable now, so its okay to take you out of the hospital." He explained.

"I want to go home." Miyo protested.

"No." Gojo Satoru smiled. "I'm not rushing to save you from a burning apartment next. Stop making all of us take care of you repeatedly." He added. Miyo's throat filled up, but she didn't dare let any tears spill. She just wanted to go back to her normal life, for whatever she knew it to be normal. It was lonely, but at least she felt secure. She didn't have to worry about being chased down or killed anytime soon. Her body felt weak and right now, Miyo didn't have much option but to listen to the man who had saved her life.

It was decided that Gojo Satoru would bring her back to Jujutsu High with him and Nanami left to go back to his apartment. Oddly enough, Gojo insisted on driving and directed Ijichi to call it a day and head back home. Miyo got into the passenger seat and quietly sat there facing outside the window.

Should I thank him for saving me?

From her peripheral vision, Miyo saw Gojo Satoru's face. His blindfold prevented her from determining his true expression. She didn't know if she was being a bother to him. It was already dark and cold breeze entered the car from Gojo Satoru's open window. Miyo wasn't dressed very warmly, so when she shivered, without another word, Gojo Satoru closed all the windows and turned on the heater.

It was uncomfortably silent.

"How do you feel now?" Gojo Satoru asked.

"I'm not in pain or anything, but I feel really weak. You know, like after a fever." Miyo said.

"Ah, I see."

It was quiet again.

Is it my turn to talk now?

"Thank you for saving me and... bringing me back to the hospital. Please tell me the cost, I will pay you back." Miyo said sincerely, but Gojo Satoru's expression remained unchanged.

"Okay, I'll tell you."

The silence relapsed again. Miyo just rested her head back on the seat and closed her eyes. She wasn't feeling very sleepy, so she just remained like that. The car ride felt very long. She didn't know how much time had passed.

"How far is it?" Miyo asked and Gojo Satoru didn't respond. When she looked outside the window, the buildings had disappeared, only trees were visible at a long distance. The road seemed endless and the only light was the headlights of their car. There were no streetlights either. "Gojo Satoru?" She asked, but there was no response.

It always felt safe around Gojo Satoru and he didn't seem like a bad guy at all, but the situation was so suspicious. It was almost like he was up to something. He didn't look like the type of person who took people into the woods and butchered them, but who could eliminate the possibility by a hundred percent. Then there was also the chance of him being a rap-

"Miyo-san." He suddenly spoke up and Miyo jerked back as the car came to a sudden halt. "You're indebted to me. You realise that, right?" Gojo Satoru asked as he removed his seat belt and turned his body to face Miyo.

"I- I'll pay you back." Miyo stuttered. Her eyes shifted to their surroundings outside the car and no human or building was in sight. Her stomach was churning as she shifted as far away from him as possible and buried her back into the car door behind her.

"I don't accept money."

This man was undoubtedly a psycho rapist killer. Miyo decided that she had to remain calm and talk to him carefully. "Y-you're such a handsome young man. You could have any girl you wanted even without trying."  Miyo's fingers were shaking and her head was spinning. Why this? Why now? Why did she ever wake up?

"I know that, thank you." Gojo Satoru replied. "So, I want you to pay me back with your body-"

Miyo's hands moved automatically and she pulled the door handle back and forth repeatedly. The periodic clicking sound made her realise the door was locked. "Please let me go, I'll disappear and not tell anybody I saw you." Miyo paused to join her hands and closed her eyes.

"No, that's not an option." Gojo Satoru replied. "You will make a binding pact with me today in return for having me save your life."

"Oh?" Miyo's expression changed.

"Yes, what were you expecting?" Gojo Satoru asked, then without giving her an opportunity to respond, he went on. "Your cursed object is nothing ordinary. Its the Catastrophic Relic. If you don't learn how to protect the relic, it can fall into the wrong hands." He explained.

"You want me to learn sorcery?" Miyo asked innocently.

Gojo Satoru ran his hands through his platinum blonde hair. "Yes, you can't sit around relying on others to protect you."

"What's this pact you speak of?" Miyo asked curiously.

"A permission to exchange power, basically. You can't control the cursed energy in the relic yet and activating it again could cause your death. You lost a lot of blood because the cursed energy overpowered your body. So," Gojo Satoru hesitated. "You make a pact with me to allow me to control the relic for you."

"Why the hell would I do that? You want me to let you take control of my cursed energy? You're a stranger to me." Miyo glared at Gojo Satoru for even suggesting something so ridiculous.

"In exchange, I'll lend you my sight during a battle. I saw that your eyes don't work when your cursed energy is activated and you're temporarily blind, aren't you?" He asked, but Miyo didn't even remember the battle clearly. However, Gojo's memory was very fresh. He saw how Miyo aimlessly attacked Jogo with her cursed energy due to her lack of vision.

"Why would you give up your sight, even if temporarily, for some cursed energy?" Miyo's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He was being so stupid to suggest something like that.

"You're so cute." Gojo Satoru chuckled. "I wouldn't be giving up my sight." He slipped a finger under his black-coloured blindfold and swiftly pulled it off, revealing the brightest blue eyes Miyo had ever seen. His eyelashes were white and Miyo couldn't help but stare. Gojo Satoru was so cruelly beautiful. "I could lend you two eyes and still have four left for myself." He smiled.

"Oh, okay." Miyo wasn't impressed. He had six eyes and limitless, he was from the famous Gojo clan, he was regarded the strongest sorcerer, okay, so what? Miyo admitted he was strong, but the strongest should've definitely been an overstatement.

Gojo Satoru wouldn't stand a chance against Mama.

"If I say no?" Miyo asked, to test the waters. She looked at him curiously, wondering what he had in mind or if she could bargain for a better deal.

Gojo Satoru let out a disappointed sigh. "No problem then." He reached to open the glove compartment in front of the passenger seat. Miyo shifted backwards when his arm brushed against her leg.

When Gojo Satoru removed a butcher knife from the glove compartment, Miyo stared at him in horror. Her hands automatically reached to aggressively pull the door handle again.

"I want the Catastrophic Relic before any curse gets it, Miyo-san. I hope you understand?" Gojo Satoru said kindly. "I'll make it quick, so-"

"This is a threat! I will call the police, Gojo Satoru, you can't do this! I will get a restraining order against you!" Miyo warned, the clicking of the car door serving as background noise as she didn't stop trying to pull the door open.

"Ah, yes, a restraining order." Gojo Satoru nodded. "Imagine if that worked. We'd all get restraining orders against Special Grade curses and they'd just say aw not agaaiiinn before slithering back into the sewer." He mocked.

Miyo looked at the weapon, then her eyes shifted to Gojo Satoru accusingly. "So if I don't comply, you'll kill me and take the relic out? Your conscience will allow you to do that?!"

"Yes."

"Please, at least give me time to think?" Miyo asked hopefully.

Suddenly, the headlights of their car exploded and all their surroundings outside the car went pitch black. "Time... is what we don't have, Miyo-san." Gojo Satoru's lips curved up into a smile as two unregistered Grade 2 curses stood before their car.

Bro I literally have an exam tomorrow, what am I doing.
