1. Playing innocent

Miyo observed dark clouds in the sky through the window. It looked like it would start raining soon and bring the cool, moisture-laden breeze she enjoyed.

The teacher in the classroom knew most students weren't paying attention. It was the weather, but also because this was their last class before the weekend.

It started pouring heavily and Miyo watched as the rain droplets merged with each other and gained volume before sliding down. The sight was pretty until a large purple eye engraved on a disfigured body stared back into Miyo's eyes. She immediately looked down and pretended to not notice the curse outside the window. Her heartbeat sped up and hands balled into fists.

She gathered some courage and looked back up. The energy emanating from the curse revealed that it was a Grade 4. Miyo exhaled in relief. It wasn't dangerous and she could just swing a baseball bat to end its life.

Being able to see curses alone was hell. Miyo was never able to ignore them because of their grotesque appearances. There was also the danger of a curse of Grade 3 or above. Unlike her mother, Miyo was not a Jujutsu sorcerer, so fighting a curse was out of the question.

"Protect yourself from curses. You can't let them get you. And if you encounter Jujutsu sorcerers, run. Don't believe anything they tell you. They're deceptive and will use you to their benefit. Don't trust anybody."

This was the last thing her mother had told her before she frantically left the house two years ago. Back then, Miyo was still in high school and on an unlucky Thursday evening, her mother gave her some strange warnings and left the house.

Miyo had been seeing curses for as long as she could remember. Her mother gave her enough education on curse types and how dangerous they could be. However, she was never taught to confront or fight them. She never had any cursed energy to begin with.

The bell rang and the teacher smiled in contentment. Some of the students stretched while others put their head on the desk and closed their eyes. Finally, the weekend was here.

Miyo worked as an intern at an office near her home after her classes ended. It helped her kill time instead of going back to an empty home.

On her way out of the building, Miyo noticed the Grade 4 curse from earlier. It jumped off the window and landed a few feet away from her. Now that she looked closely, it looked strangely lonely.

A few streets away from her workplace, Miyo noticed as the curse followed her around. She stopped on an empty street and faced the curse. "You don't have a family too. Its okay, I'll end this for you. Just wait." Miyo lifted a huge rock, but before she could haul it over the curse, her eyes landed on a strange box lying on the side of the street.

The curse was trying to get closer to the box, but Miyo killed it and then headed to pick up the box. She unsealed it to reveal an equally disgusting and terrifying object. It slipped off her hands as she gasped. "Sukuna's finger." She covered her mouth.

Miyo knew higher grade curses went around looking for objects like this, so she took a few steps back in caution. Her back collided against somebody's chest and she lost her balance. Rough hands gripped her arms and kept her in place to prevent her from falling.

"Are you okay?"

Miyo turned around to reveal a man with platinum blonde hair and a blindfold covering his eyes. She didn't respond, only took a few steps to the side to walk past him.

Footsteps were heard as a boy with pink hair came into sight. "Gojo-sensei" He panted. "Did you find it?"

The man nodded and directed him towards the finger now lying on the ground. As the pink-haired boy bent down to pick up Sukuna's finger, her eyes widened. If they were going to take Sukuna's finger with them, they'd have all sorts of curses follow them home.

"That," She pointed at the disgusting finger. "is a cursed object. Don't take it home or you'll die." Miyo's duty was done, she had warned them. She was no longer responsible for their lives.

The two boys stared at her as she made her way towards the next lane. It happened too quickly and they didn't have the time to react or ask her how she knew of cursed objects.

Gojo Satoru had something else on his mind. As the girl walked past him, he had sensed something he couldn't allow unchecked.

As Miyo walked on the next lane, she observed two red coloured feet facing the direction opposite of its body. The distorted figure came into vision and she realised, it was another curse, a Grade 2 this time. She froze in her spot, her legs refused to move as she stared at the curse in horror.

"If its anything beyond Grade 3, don't try to confront them at any cost. You must keep yourself safe until I come back for you."

Miyo remembered her mother's words. She had to escape, but the curse had already noticed her. She took shaky steps back and the curse took large, monster-like steps in her direction. She thought it was time to use her key weapon, the cursed dagger her mother used back when she was a Jujutsu sorcerer.

Miyo reached for her bag and fumbled around for the weapon, until a short laugh sounded from behind her. "Itadori, look we have a Grade 2 here." He grinned cheekily. "This is perfect for practice, come here. I'll time you and you need to finish this within ten minutes."

"Ehhh why are we adding a timer on this. Gojo-sensei don't be so-" The pink-haired boy followed as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He stopped when he noticed Miyo. "Oh? You're still here?" .

"I was going to leave." Miyo immediately headed in the opposite direction. She had made sense of the situation. The conversations and actions of the two boys gave away their identity as Jujutsu sorcerers.

A hand wrapped around Miyo's wrist to stop her from leaving. She turned around to see Gojo Satoru who gently pulled her back towards him. "You can see curses?" It wasn't a question. He was amused by the situation, while Miyo wanted to leave as soon as possible.

"I'm not sure what you're talking about. I have work soon, so let go of me." Miyo said politely, but Gojo Satoru didn't need to confirm things a second time.

"Gojo-sensei," Yuji was running out of breath as he struggled to hold a fight against the curse. "Are you holding her hand?" With one last slash from his blade, Yuji destroyed the curse.

Yuji looked beat as he headed in their direction. There were cuts and burn marks all over his face and body, his clothes ripped in places and blood running down his nose. Miyo reached into her bag and offered him a tissue paper.

"Will you be okay?" Miyo asked in concern.

Yuji nodded cheerfully. "Of course, a Grade 2 curse is nothing. I've fought far worse." He said proudly. It was after really long that Yuji met a girl so cute and a little bit of bragging was justified.

Miyo tugged her wrist away from Gojo Satoru who refused to let go. She had to get the hell away from Jujutsu sorcerers before they detected anything that could spell doom for her. However, she had no idea about Gojo's skills and sharp senses.

It was when Miyo walked past him, Gojo had identified who or what they had encountered. "I'm not sure why you're not letting go of me." Miyo stuttered, afraid that they now knew her identity.

"You're so good at playing innocent. Its almost deceiving." Gojo Satoru said with a knowing smile. Yuji looked at him in confusion. "She's trying to fool us. There's a cursed object that she's holding on to."
