Chapter 68- a day together
(Y/N) POV:
It's one of those rare days- where there aren't any lessons for some of us and none for the other, where I don't have a work shift and none of the guys are holed up in their studios. There's no work that needs to be done, no assignments due, nothing except time. Time to spend with my soulmates.
And I can see that the free time as we all lounge around makes all of confused with what to do with it. We wile away the day going for a long walk around the park, Hobi oppa pulling me away to take me to the place where we'd first met.
I flush as I remember how oppa had pressed my back against the tree before kissing me, trapping me within the solid warmth of his body as he kissed his way across my face- stealing a private moment that was filled with giggles and gasps of breaths between pauses when our lips separate.
"What are you looking so pleased about?" a nudge brings me out of my reverie, Kookie shooting me a suspicious look though I have no doubt he can feel how flustered I am through the bond.
I don't answer, choosing to duck my face away from him to be trapped into the captivating eyes of Seokie- his eyes filled with a similar warmth and a smile curves across his lips, even as he leans forward with a sparkling glint, head ducking down to come closer and closer to my face, my breath hitching in my throat.
"Hey! I'm bored." Kookie huffs, tugging my arm to draw my attention back to him, snapping me out of the trance any one of them always manage to capture me in.
I hear a chuckle from behind me, everyone's eyes drawn to the three of us as we sit on the carpet.
"What do you want to do then Kook?" Jinnie oppa asks, leaning forward and giving him his attention, face propped up by his hand.
I see Kookie dither as he wonders, see his eyes fill with confusion as he chooses what it is that he wants to do.
"Let's play a game!" he pipes up, his eagerness and excitement evoking a similar response in us, bringing us to sit upright with the prospect of something fun and light on the horizon.
"Hide and seek!" Tae chirps, leaning forward and almost unbalancing himself off Joonie oppa's lap had it not been for the fact he'd somehow managed to snag an arm around his waist.
Everyone agrees to the idea but the innocently voiced question of 'who's going to be the seeker?' foolishly tumbles out of my mouth and sparks off competitive gleams and passionate and intense rounds of rock-paper-scissors to decide who it'll be. Never have I played this game so frantically or competitively but I find myself affected by the strong desire to win that sears through the bond and I laugh victoriously when I win the second round- snuggling into Tae's arms as he reclines on the couch as the first victor.
His low chuckle brushes across my ear as he leans forward.
"Who do you think will lose?" he asks.
I turn to face him.
"Rock-paper-scissors? Or hide and seek?" I reply.
His face takes on a thoughtful expression.
"Let's make a bet. Whoever from the two of us wins has to grant the other a wish." He bargains, eyes capturing mine.
A wish. Why does it sound like something both tempting and dangerous? God knows what Tae will make me do if I lose.
"Beyond reason." I state, twisting to face him properly.
"Deal." He breathes before leaning forward to capture my lips in a kiss, short but sweet and full of yearning and desire- bubbling upto the surface and intoxicating me with the feeling and sensation that is only him.
"Yah!" an indignant voice interrupts, causing the two of us to separate.
Jinnie oppa is standing there, looking put-out as he stands over the two of us.
But it's only there momentarily before it gives away to fondness.
"Yoongi lost- he's counting." He informs, and my eyes snag onto him- but can't help but coo at the pout that graces his lip, looking adorably annoyed- but the twinkle in his eyes tell me that maybe he doesn't mind anyways.
Before Yoongi oppa starts counting, I turn to Tae.
"Koo will win!" I say proudly, seeing said boy turn on hearing his name and shoot me a bunny smile, fist pumping in the air.
Tae looks slightly put-out by the fact- maybe he'd intended to say Kookie's name too.
Then the familiar gleam of challenge in his eyes.
"I'll win." He says, practically purring with the way his voice takes on a huskier tone.
But it only stirs up a rising feeling of competitiveness. When it comes to this- if I have to dirty my hands to win, so be it Tae...I think.
But it'll be my wish that's getting granted.
----
Playing hide and seek could seem like an awful disadvantage to me maybe, perhaps because I haven't lived here long enough, don't know what hiding places are favoured, where it is that they often look first, but I'll take it into my stride. And maybe...where I hide will be enough.
The others scatter, feet treading with different measures of carefulness- I see Minnie slide somehow into one of the cabinets in the living room- curling around himself with a dexterity of a cat as he settles down- eyes shining with triumph as he gently pulls the door shut.
Hobi oppa bounds over to the passage before the front door, Jinnie oppa dashes upstairs, Tae and Kookie not too far behind. I see Joonie oppa freeze, eyes desperately scanning the room as he tries to decide what is the best place to hide.
I tiptoe outwards to where there are some storage cupboards, climbing upwards to one of the higher shelves and tucking myself behind some of the extra supplies oppa keeps here- hiding behind some extra cushions. I shift myself carefully around the items hoping none of them clatter to the ground and reveal my hiding place. I carefully lean forward to close the doors- enveloped in darkness as I wait with bated breath.
My ears prick to hear any sounds and then I can hear Yoongi oppa's monotone 'ready or not, here I come' resonate through the house. Then his feet pattering along the floor as he slowly makes his way through the living room trying to find anyone. But then there's a sudden crash that comes from the kitchen and the muffled sound of a low groan and then oppa's feet hurrying forward. There's a chuckle that fills the air- warm, fond and slightly exasperated. And then Joonie oppa's voice morosely filtering through.
"I didn't mean to...and now I'm out." And he sounds so downcast that I'm almost tempted to crawl out and just hug him. But then I can hear feet entering back into the living room, growing closer and closer to the edge of the room.
And then a triumphant 'ha' and a disappointed whine.
"Hyung! It took me ages to fit in there!" Minnie's voice says and I can imagine the sad pout and downward droop of his mouth.
I can then hear padding of footsteps head up- loud and light as they run and an albeit slower walk behind.
"Jimin-ah that's not how the game works. You're out." Oppa huffs but does nothing to deter the giggles bubbling from Minnie's mouth.
A little while later I can hear huffing and loudly voiced complaints as the others make their way down- having been caught but the sound of running has grown louder- more than one set of feet rushing down.
Then oh-so-silently I can hear the barely present tread of feet slinking into the passageway- like a cat slowly prowling on a hunt. And then—
A high-pitched shriek.
"Hyung don't scare me!" a slightly out-of-breath voice yells. Seokie oppa.
And then the doors are flung open and light fills the storage cupboard. I tentatively peek out from behind the mound of cushions I've hid my face behind to come across two amused faces. Yoongi oppa and Seokie oppa.
They're looking up at me before Yoongi oppa's face breaks into a gummy smile and Hobi oppa's radiates with a joyous energy.
"Kit!" Hobi oppa crows.
I edge closer to the side to climb off but then there's a pair of arms that wrap around my waist, gently guiding me down. Yoongi oppa. His arms are careful and strong in their grip and I look into his dark eyes that are glinting with something unknown.
As he sets me down, he leans to whisper against my ear.
"You're welcome. Make a wish sweetheart." The words run across my ear before he presses a soft kiss onto my shoulder which had become exposed during my hiding, his lips soft and plush against my skin, warmth staying long after his lips.
And I realise that he knew where we had been all along, and no doubt heard the bet that me and Tae had made. And he purposely found me last.
"Thank you oppa." I whisper back to be rewarded with the full powerful impact of his gummy smile before he turns around to set chase to Kookie, Minnie and Tae who've been waiting for oppa to turn and give chase.
He does so gladly, but his running movement is so unbearably cute I find, as I join Joonie oppa on the sofa and cuddle him to make up for the fact he lost, the way he moves slowly and in such a unique way, but I see the laughter that lights up his face as the three stop and giggle, leaning on each other for support. It's endearing to see how he does it to make them smile and laugh with amusement, even as he exaggeratedly huffs and puffs after them, eventually flopping down 'exhausted' next to me, cuddling into my side.
Going through everything I have, to have suffered and endured, but seeing this makes it all worth it. And I would go through it again to find them at the end waiting for me with their arms open.
So as the three join us, draping over each other, as Jinnie oppa emerges from the kitchen with yet another pot broken because of Joonie oppa, the scolding that fills the air, it's comfortable. It's home. And it's everything.
And my wish is...to be like this always.
QUESTION OF TODAY! THE CUTEST THING YOU'VE WITNESSED LATELY?
FOR ME...SEEING MY PARENTS ABOUT TO ARGUE BUT THEN BURST INTO GIGGLES ONCE THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER.
Stay safe! Borahae! 💜💜💜
