Mia's pov

I sat in the back of the classroom as always minding my own business and staring out of the window with my pen in my mouth and a bored expression plastered across my face when I notice a girl in the distance, she was standing outside under a tree in the school yard looking at me while using her finger to twirl her hair.

I held my head up then she lifted her right hand and waved at me then winked.

"Miss millers". The teacher called out making me look away from the window and look at him.

He gave me a glare then continued his class. I looked back out the window and the girl wasn't there anymore.

" sir can I use the bathroom " I said while raising my hand.

He nod then proceeded with his class. I took up my bag  then walk out of the classroom.

I held my head down while pulling my phone from my packet when I suddenly bumped into someone and fell to the floor.

"Ouch". I said while looking up. It was Sam he quickly grab my hand and pull me from the floor.

" sorry about that". He said while taking my bag up from off the floor.

I smile then took my bag "thank you". I said then walked away.

"hey mia wait up where are you heading and school isn't over". He said running towards me.

I scratched my head then look at him trying to think of a lie.

"I'm feeling sick so I'm going home". I Said then smile.

Sam just stood there looking at me.

" let me take you". He said while grabbing my bag and running down the corridor, I  had no choice but to let him come, it was either that or walk.

I hurried behind him down to the car then  got in.

"I hope this doesn't go on my permanent record". Sam said as he drove away.

He turned the music on as we drove to my house. Sam wasn't very talkative when it came to me, he always fines some kind of distraction to prevent us from making conversation.

It was a long and silent drive home Sam parked in front of the house and I got out, he also exited the car then shut the door.

" it's been so long since I've been here ". He whispered not knowing that I heard what he said.

" what do you mean by that I asked". Walking  up to him.

He looked away then began walking back to his car. I grabbed him by the shirt then pull him back.

"What the hell did you mean?" I yelled once more.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." He replied looking up at the house.

"Can we go inside" he asked while putting his car keys in his shirt packet.

I agreed then walk up to the door and was about to open it flew open. I jumped back in fright causing Sam to look up at me.

"What was that". He asked.

I gave him a I don't know look then walk inside.

Nobody was home the house was empty even Tim seemed to be out. Sam looked around then started walking up the stairs as if he knew where he was going.

He walked pass the rooms then paused when he saw mine.

" hey what are you doing ". I shouted at him causing him to stop and look at me.

" you want me to explain why I've been acting like this around you right?" He said then entered my room, I ran in after him.

  He walked around the room then over to the bed.

"This is where she first kiss me" he said while touching my bed.

"Who" I asked walking over to him when out of nowhere a voice answered from behind saying "me".

I turned around to fine the same girl that  had fallowed me to the haunted cemetery.

Sam quickly walked over to her and was about to touch her but she step back, preventing him from making contact with her.

" I'm sorry I couldn't save you". He said while tears ran down  his face.

The girl looked up at him with her black eyes then walk over to me.

"Leave now please". She said then turned back around to Sam.

" nobody can save me now nor the one's living here, leave or she'll take you. " she said once more before turning and disappearing.

"Maya". Sam yelled when suddenly the room became smelly.

" we of to leave ". Sam shouted out while whipping his eyes and grabbing me by the arm. He pulled me out of the room and began running down the stairs when we noticed a guy standing at the bottom of the stairs. He held his head up then started walking up the stairs.

" this way " I yelled while pulling Sam towards the attic. I was very sure that Sam was the reason why this happened. He seemed to know a lot about this house and maya seemed to have been  his girlfriend, I thought to myself while running.

We ran up to the attic then shut the door.

"I taught this had stopped". He said walking in circles and holding his head.

" what are you talking about ". I asked while holding his hands.

He looked at me then turned away and walk over to a corner of the wall.

" why are you being such a ass". I yell walking over to where he was and grabbing his shirt.

Sam look at me then pushed my hand off him.

"Maya died for this place and I taught the curse was lifted. I was sure that this place was free." He said looking at me.

I shook my head then walk over to the door and place my ears against it to listen, then I took my time to open the door.

I turned around to call Sam but was frozen by the sight in front of me.

The presence of Sam has awoken something dark that has been hiding in the shadows.
