Chapter Three: A sense of Vu

"Are you ready for a nap, my miracle?"

"Mmm.... I want to make my dreams come true."

"Well now, that's a very nice goal, but it's time for dinner."

"Will it be roast Mama?"

"Of course love."
-----

Chaos paused in the middle of preparing the roast that she was making... Recently, she had been having these weird feelings..

"Chaos?" Grey asked in concern, looking up from where he was entertaining baby Palette.

"... What's wrong Grey?"

"You seemed a million miles away, and you're crying." He said, worriedly.

Chaos's eyelights widened, and she touched her cheeks... Grey was right... She was crying... And she didn't know why.

"Hey... do you want to rest, I can finish dinner?" Grey asked his spouse, concerned.

"Maybe... I..." Chaos looked at the ground. "I don't know... This isn't the first time that I have felt like this... These feelings of Deja Vu... I had them during my first life, but it's only recently that I started to hear voices..."

"Chaos, have you ever considered... that this wasn't the first time that you reincarnated?"

"What?!" She looked at Grey. "But I remember my life before this one... I don't remember a life before that one!"

"That's how reincarnation is supposed to work Chaos, but being a god is a different thing, than being a mortal, so our memories are different." Grey explained to her.

"Are you saying that when I became a God... It flipped a switch in my memories, and it triggered something important?"

"Most likely, we really don't forget anything love. We can lock away memories, which happened when my soul was sealed." Grey explained, he still had no idea how it was unsealed.

A white boned hand, with strange gold markings on it, gently braiding ghostly ecto hair, carefully inserting a pretty flower into the hair.

"Well now, with the new dress, you're all decked out for your father child day, with your Papa, and your siblings."

"What will mama do while we're gone?"

"Mama will be busy, working on a task that the Fates asked me to do, so long ago."

Chaos frowned... Why did Grey talking about his Sealed Soul trigger one of those moments? "If I was reincarnated into my Original Multiverse, it would explain a curious ability that I had, when I was a human... An ability that I still had when I was reincarnated as a Swap Sans..."

"Ability?" Grey asked her, curiously.

"Auras don't work on me.. Never have... Never will." Chaos shrugged her shoulders. "It was part of the reason why I was never affected by Night's, and The Bird's, Auras, when we grew up together, and back in the Crash, it allowed me to withstand your Aura, when you got angry at the Eaters."

"That's rare, I've never heard of mortals, or gods, having that ability, maybe an elder god..." Grey mused.

"An Elder God?" Chaos asked him... There was something familiar about that title...

"They vanished long ago, you could say that there are levels of Gods. Elder Gods are the first, they represent parts of existence, such as the seasons. Then there are gods, like the gods of Reapertale. We fall between gods and elder gods, if they still exist then they'd be able to kick our butts, and then, still have time to make breakfast and eat it." Grey said, with a short laugh.

Chaos giggled, as she turned back to her roast. "Actually, I think that Mama and Papa would invite all of us to breakfast."

"Pardon?" Grey said, blinking, and confused, unable to understand part of what she had said.

Chaos looked at him. "What's wrong Grey? I said that they would invite us to breakfast."

"Chaos... who would invite us?" Grey said, wide eyed.

"Mama and Papa..." Chaos froze. "But... My parents, in this life... They're dead..."

"Your mother struggled against weakness and illness to give birth to you, we knew that we were lucky for you to be born, but you were blessed that you lived."

"Mama's Soul loves us all."

"...Mama and Papa stayed at your side as you fought to live from your first breath, they didn't want to leave you, and learn that you died, on your own, without anyone by your side."

"Is that why Mama and Papa call me a miracle?"

Chaos's hands were shaking... Whoever these voices were... They called her a miracle...

"My little miracle, my little chaos child... promise me, that even when you're an adult, that you will call me if there is no choice, and I will always come, even if I must go against the Fates."

"Okay Mama, but Mama... wouldn't I need to call you by name, and not Mama?"

"Hmmm.. that's right and not my normal name, you'd have to call me __."

"Okay dokey Mama,"

Warm arms, surrounded by dark sleeves ,hugged her, the soul beat of her Mother was soothing to her ears.

Chaos frowned... If Grey was right... Then this was the voice of her 'Mama'... Someone who would go against the Fates to help her. "Grey... One of the voices that I remember... I called it Mama..."

"What were they like?" Grey asked, curiously, after all his own mother, Fate, could only interact so much with him.

"Warm... Loving... Kind... I think that I got my roast recipe from them... They struggled against weakness and illness to give birth to me, and stayed by my side as I fought to live from my first breath.."

"They must have loved you terribly." Grey whispered, a bit jealous that his wife had such a loving mother that she could remember, when he barely remembered anything of his own mother.

"They did... They called me their miracle child..."

She watched as two figures danced under the moonlight, somehow above the water. Her Papa's hiori was so majestic, and her Mama was wearing the splendid white kimono that they wore now and then. They moved as if one, every moment showing their endless love.

She gasped as her Mama summoned great shadowed wings that were veined with beautiful gold, the same gold as their eyes.

She crawled out of her sleeping bag, careful not to wake her sleeping siblings.

She continued to watch the most special pairing of the multiverse, and she knew, that one day, she wanted something just like that.

Her own soulmate.

"You should have seen Mama with Papa... Grey, they were perfect together..." Her eyelights were shining. "I think that I wanted something like that... And I found it... With you."

"I'm glad to have you Chaos." Grey said, stealing a kiss.

"I'm glad to have you too Grey." She blushed, when he stole a kiss from her. "And Canvas, and Palette... They're going to be spoiled rotten, if I ever see them again, by Mama and Papa, and my siblings... I think that I had siblings."

"Then let's do our best, you may not be the same person as you were in that life, but one day, we'll find them." Grey promised, leaning his skull against hers.

"I know that we will find them." She leaned her skull against his. "I think that I remember that some of them were older than me..."

"I hope so, other than our little family, and your adopted family, it would be nice to have more family." Grey told her.

"Yeah... It would be.." She smiled at him. "You know... I don't think that the story that Retconned told me, about Fresh, and the way that he spoke, weren't the only things that Fresh reminds me of... Something else is bugging me, when I think about Fresh..."

"Really?"

"Yeah..." Chaos frowned. "He kinda reminds me of someone..."

"Like who?"

"I think that he reminds me of one of my brothers... Or a friend of a sibling... I don't know..."

"Huh, weird. Fresh is very... original." Grey said, surprised.

"I know..." Chaos muttered.

"Papa.. is now a mama?"

Mama giggled, with amusement in their golden eye lights, as a gentle hand ruffled her hair.

"Papa always was a bit sad that I was always the carrier, as it's hard to switch who is a carrier, well he got his wish... just when he didn't expect it."

"Silly Papa." The white garbed figure of big brother giggled.

"Wait.. do I have to call Papa mama now?"

Mama laughed, hard.

Chaos started to blush. There was some memories that she had a feeling that she wanted to bury in her head.

".... Oh God... I did not want to remember that..."

"Eh?" Grey said, confused.

"I remembered my reaction to Mama knocking up Papa." Chaos told him.

Canvas giggled, he had been quietly listening to his Mama and Papa talking about Mama's parents, who sounded really nice. He hoped that he could meet them, and thank them for being Mama's parents.

"Ahhh..." Grey said, blushing rainbow.

"Yeah..." Chaos was blushing.

"It didn't help that Papa was a magnet for Lust Flowers."

Grey blinked, and he couldn't help but to laugh, even he had seen other's.. interesting reactions to the flowers, before they went extinct. And no, he didn't create them, and Fate only got smug when he asked her about them.

He did not want to know what his mother's version of a romance smut novel was.

Sadly, she told him anyway.

"Papa had a burn on sight order for them."

Far away, and in some senses, another story, a dark garbed figure stared deep into the Void.

They were, in fact, floating in the void, with a long black jacket that was fluttering in a breeze that no other creature could experience as the void would tear them apart.

"Another Year..." They whispered, with golden eye lights filled with sadness.

"My little miracle, my little chaos child... you barely had time to live."

Umbra the dark guardian, Shades to his family of the Reknitverse, could only grieve for their child's life that was cut too short.

"Fate... I hope that you kept your promise..." He whispered.

He knew that he wasn't the only one that was grieving for his lost child... His husband, Idrytís, the Supreme God, and Founder, of Reapertale, who was Searcher, to his family, of the Reknitverse, would often lock himself away in their miracle child's part of the Great Temple of the Elder Gods, when this day came around.

Their miracle child had looked at her Papa, and she had seen a hero, but he blamed himself for their child's death...

Golden light surrounded his left hands, and it shrunk to the size of a grain of sand in seconds.

"Seek, find.... protect them... if you find their Soul." The dark guardian whispered to it, he kissed it, and then, he threw it away.

It rushed across the void like a fallen star, blazing with unknown hope.

"My Miraculum...." He whispered, and he allowed himself to slip deeper into the void, to grieve until this day ended.
