After a long time Aislin was happy. She felt at ease and delighted and after school when she went home even her mother could notice the change.
"You have doctor's appointment today." Her mother said cautiously not to ruin her good mood.
What would she talk about? Should she tell him about the voice in her head? No, that will only make her look crazy. Should she ask for another sleep session to get to know Ayduin? The name was as unusual as the owner and she immediately liked it. He said he was some prince and he could have been with that grace and lethal fighting powers. She was too curious to know how he looked.
"I will go by myself no need to drop me, mom." She said not trying to trouble her mother any more than she already did.
"It's not a problem for me dear." Her mother said smiling.
"No, I want to go by myself so that I could get the idea of the route better." She said coming up with a lame excuse.
But her mother was cool this way, she neglected the fact that Aislin was lying and just agreed to it.
It had been three hours since she last talked to Ayduin and frankly, she was missing him. After her best friend and boyfriend, the only person she talked to was her mother. And now after finding an unusual companion to talk to she was enjoying it and her mind was not only focused on pain of the accident.
Maybe she had finally lost it and created her own invisible version of a friend like it happened in movies but now she was fine by it.
Hey Ayduin, you there? She asked as if checking for a person on Facebook.
There was silence and she felt deflated. It was not like they had an appointment but he did offer to be the tourist guide to Elm Lenora whatever that was.
"I see you made it for our second session. So what do you think we should do today? Are you ready to talk or are we still sleep deprived?" Andrew asked well naturedly.
Talking about that was still agonizing, the dead bodies of her friends flashed before her eyes and the amount of blood still made her dizzy. No, talking or even thinking about that day is not an option.
"I will talk but not about the accident." She said it almost like a request.
"Sure, sure. Take however long you need." He said with a sense of relief that she was at least ready to talk.
"Fine we will do one thing, I will attach a mic to your shirt and you can talk to yourself whatever you feel and I can listen to it later. Maybe talking alone you could comfortably say anything you want?" He asked.
That was a good idea, she liked to be left alone except by the voice in her head.
After a while, she was left alone to talk, to herself or if she was lucky enough to talk to Ayduin.
She sighed and thought about what she said that was genuine and yet not reveal anything about the pain she was harboring within. She realized she was bad at this, self-talking thing and felt awkward.
Ayduin, your highness, a little help here.
She said hopefully.
What is it that you need now that you finally address me properly?
Miraculously the voice answered. That brought a smile to her face.
But she couldn't explain to him that she was sitting at a shrink's office being evaluated for brain misfunctioning.
I want to see Elm Lenora, remember you promised to be my guide.
Andrew would be disappointed at her long silence.
It has only been few hours, I thought maybe you wanted to do it the next day. And I am NOT your guide, I just want to prove that place exist.
He sounded defensive and hesitant about something. Maybe he was the prince since the way he talked and demanded respect at everything.
It was your idea, fine if you are too sulky to play host.
She said a little annoyed but immediately regretted her mistake.
Now there was a long moment of silence. She almost thought he had left when she heard a controlled sigh.
My apologies, I am not in good disposition today. I cannot as you said, play host but you can witness court meeting. Though I am not sure I should trust you with such sensitive information.
What was his problem? He was apologetic one moment and then mistrusting the other.
She had many retorts in her mind but for now, the court meeting had her intrigued. She controlled her building anger and decided to say something normal.
Well, I am a voice just in your head who would I tell about the conspicuous meeting of yours.
That was as far she could go to control her temper.
Then be prepared you are about to enter the court room, please do not talk to me since it might cause distraction and I want to be at my sharpest in front of the court.
She mumbled a yes as a response his authoritative nature now getting on her nerves.
The court was beautiful...no that was putting it to shame. It was far more than that. The hall was made of glass or maybe it was ice, whatever it was sparkled under the lights around. Amazingly the walls were adorned with candelabras with warm flames and ribbon of smoke and still the ice around remained unmelted.
The ice was peculiar, it was of a different color in every direction she turned as if it reflects the moods of her mind. In the center of the halls gathered four young people in a circular form, two boys, and two girls. She would have studied them had Anduin's eyes would have rested there longer but his eyes darted to an old man sitting rather lazily on the silver throne decorated with ice thorns.
There was a chandelier over his head, an exquisite piece of work emitting sparkling white light.
"Father." He said and bowed slightly.
And two tall dark red cloaked men bowed to Ayduin in response, their face hidden under the hood of the cloak.
Father ignored his son and said in a gruff tone.
"I present to you the guardian from our realm, My son, Prince of Elm Lenora, Ayduin." Though he said the words almost slumped on the throne but they vibrated with power.
"FATHER!" Ayduin bellowed the words filled with anger.
"That is my final decision," King replied glaring at his son.
Anger and immense hatred filled Ayduin's head but he noticed the crowd around and left the place without saying another word.
Aislin was stunned at what she saw, it was like viewing a scene from some fantasy genre movie. It was too bizarre to be true but it was. Her mind could feel the anger emitting in Ayduin's thought but couldn't get what he was thinking. She had no idea how far their minds were connected.
She mustered up courage and then finally said.
Umm...are you okay? She could have asked various other questions but she started with the most obvious one.
Though he didn't answer she could see the cold corridor through his eyes with a metallic soldier on either side as he raged past them in resentment.
And then his next words wounded her unexpectedly.
Leave me alone!! Just leave my head, get lost!
