Grandeene, The Bane Of Igneel's Existence

Grandeene (Yes, it is purposely spelled like that.... that's the most common spelling in the manga, though, so I'm using it.)

Dragon Bearer's Theme ->

__

"Okay!" Skiadrum yelled. "Igneel Dragneel, in order to be one of us, you need to prove you are a true Dragon Bearer!"

"But... I wouldn't be allowed in the city if I weren't!" Igneel pointed out.

Skiadrum glared at him. "What was that?"

Igneel gulped. "N-nothing!" he stuttered.

Skiadrum nodded. "Anyway, as I was saying, you must complete an obstacle course, answer a riddle, and then you will discover who your child's best friend is going to be."

"Why that last part?" Igneel asked, before paling. "Not to doubt you, or anything! Definitely not that! Hehe..."

"Simple." Weisslogia explained. "You will only get that far if you succeed, and then Azure here will find out who your future child will be best friends with... like a reward."

"Oh."

Skiadrum glared at Weisslogia. "Shut up!" she hissed. "It's my job to explain, not your's, you piece of crap!"

Weisslogia chuckled. "Oh, Drum stick, how you wound me so."

Igneel cleared his throat. "So, where's the obstacle course?"

"Outside." Skiadrum answered, not breaking her stare at Weisslogia.

"Behind the rock shaped like a bird."

Azure yanked on Igneel's scarf. "Come on, let's go before it gets ugly." she whispered. She snapped her fingers, and her, Igneel, Zodia and Kaori were outside.

"So, is this teleportation?" Igneel asked. Azure shook her head.

"No, it was me taking us to the future, whenever we get here." Azure responded in a 'duh' tone.

"What if we meet our future selves?"

Azure scoffed. "That won't happen. In this, we take the place of our future selves... it's hard to explain, really, but we'll be fine."

"If you say so." Igneel looked up. "So, that's it?

In front of them, there was an array of things. There were stone walls, giant holed in the ground, a massive thorn bush with dried blood on the thorns, and in the center, an ancient oak tree with the top obscured in the clouds.

"Yep." Zodia answered. "It's harder than it looks, trust me."

"Was that supposed to make me feel better?"

"Er- kinda." She rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. "I think it failed miserably."

Igneel muttered something in agreement, before he felt a harsh slap on the shoulder.

"No dilly-dallying!" Skiadrum commanded. "Now, then, Igneel, start running!"

Igneel frowned, before taking off as she said.

Thirty minutes later, Igneel staggered out, soaking wet with scratches all over him. His shirt was ripped to shreds, but Igneel didn't seem to notice.

It was horrible. He'd never been pushed so far. He couldn't even describe it, it was so terrible.

"You did good!" Weisslogia said with a grin. "Most people take an hour!"

Igneel didn't reply.

"Anyway," Zodia stepped forward, clearing her throat. The riddle; You approach two talking doors. One door leads to the City of Truth, while the other door leads to the City of Liars. You do not know which door is which. You are able to ask only one question to determine which door is which. The door that leads to the City of Liars always speaks lies, while the door that leads to the City of Truth always speaks the truth. You want to go to the City of Truth. What question do you ask to determine which door leads to the City of Truth?"Ask a a door - "Do both doors lead to the city of truth?" If the answer is no, it's the truth door. if the answer is yes, it's the liars' door.

Igneel paused. "Ask a a door - 'Do both doors lead to the city of truth?' If the answer is no, it's the truth door. Ff the answer is yes, it's the liars' door."

"Impressive." Weisslogia praised.

"You have been accepted!" Azure grinned. "Anyway, your kid's best friend will be a ca-"

"Another one? Really?"

The Dragon Bearers turned around to see a female dragon with white, feathered wings and a fluffy tail. Contrary to her cuddly appearance, however, her face held a cruel sneer.

"Yeah." Zodia snorted. "What's wrong, Grandeene? Scared another Fire Dragon might knock you down another notch?" (Whenever Natsuko joined the Heiwas, she knocked Grandeene from the ninth most powerful dragon to the tenth.)

Grandeene laughed mockingly. "Oh, please. Natsuko used her uncle to get her position, she couldn't beat me in a fight!"

Igneel's fists ignited in flames as fury entered his eyes. "You wanna say that again!?" he snarled.

"Anger isn't a good look on you, pink head." Grandeene commented. "You should try to calm down, kid."

Azure clenched her fists. "You're his age in physiologically, Grandma!"

"That insult contradicted your point." Kaori whispered, and Azure glared at her.

"Don't correct me in front of the idiots!" she whisper shouted.

"Calm down?" Igneel gritted his teeth. "You just insulted Natsuko!"

"Your point, you stupid human?"

"If you don't even like humans, why are you here?" Skiadrum exploded, her own fists surrounded in a black glow.

"'Cause Metalicana's here." Grandeene responded. "Why else?"

"Why you little-" Weisslogia took a threatening step forward.

"One more step, and I'll scream!" Grandeene said in a sing-song voice. "But, seriously, I thought five humans were enough! That was my limit." She glared at Igneel. "If you don't leave, I swear I'll-"

"Grandeene!" A voice yelled, and the Sky Dragon looked over her shoulder and cursed.

"Coming!" she yelled, before taking off.
