And, I apologize for it being so short.... I swear the chapters will get longer.
"Is he waking up?"
"Calm down, Natsuko, it takes a while for someone who was stabbed straight through his stomach to wake up."
Igneel heard these voices as he slowly drifted into consciousness. He groggily opened his eyes.... to see the shock of his life.
Two dragons were standing over him.
One was scarlet red, with spines down her back, and protruding from her shoulders and elbows. She had red fins around her face, two horns, and had a black and white scaled scarf around her neck.
The other dragon was a muscular snow white dragon. He had pink fins on his head, looking somewhat like ears... he had spikes down his muscular tails, massive wings, and black claws that looked like they could shred a house as if it were paper.
Igneel sat up, before gasping as agony spread throughout his stomach.
The white dragon glared at him. "Lay down!" He huffed. "I'm not finished yet!"
"So you admit it!" The red dragon declared, lifting her head in triumph.
The white dragon rolled his eyes. "Be quiet, Natsuko."
"You're just made because I was right, Shosora!"
Shosora returned his attention to Igneel. Anyway..." He muttered, lightly resting his tail on Igneel's stomach. His tail glowed a soft blue, and Igneel blinked as he felt the pain reside.
"Er- thanks?" He tried. "But, eh, why did you help me?"
"Don't ask questions, just be grateful!" Shosora huffed.
Igneel nodded quickly. "Aye, sir!"
Natsuko nudged Shosora with her tail. "Don't scare him!" she huffed. SHe leaned her neck to Igneel. "Nice to meet you! I'm Natsuko the Fire Dragon... and you are?"
"Er, Igneel Dragneel."
Natsuko smiled. "Wonderful name! Almost sounds like Ignis, with means fire..."
Shosora growled. "Natsuko, I know what you're thinking, and no."
Natsuko glared at the Sky Dragon. "And just why not? Others do!"
"That's different."
"How so? Please, enlighten me." Natsuko narrowed her eyes.
"It- it just is!" Shosora snarled. Smoke billowed from Natsuko's nostrils.
"It isn't up to you, is it?" she growled. "It's up to the dragon who wants an apprentice, nobody else." She returned her gaze to Igneel. "So, Igneel, do you want to be a Dragon Bearer?"
Igneel frowned. "A what?"
"A Dragon Bearer." Natsuko explained. "It's a human who was taught Dragon Bearing Magic by a dragon... it gives the human dragon qualities... for example, you would have the lungs that would allow you to breathe fire, dragon scales that would allow you to dissolve the fire, and dragon claws to help you attack with fire."
Igneel's eyes widened. "Seriously!?"
"Dead serious." she answered. "You, Igneel, have something special.... something that can only be tamed with power.... just like my own."
"Your own?" He frowned. "You mean, you want to turn me into an overgrown lizard?"
She rolled her eyes. "No... but, you do get to eat fire."
"But..." Igneel muttered. "Dragons have been killing villagers..."
Natsuko narrowed her eyes. "That wasn't us. I swear. We're fighting for the humans, the Jaakus aren't." she paused. "So, what do you say?"
Igneel bit his lip. "That sounds awesome... but I have a job to finish."
"And what job would that be?" Natsuko inquired.
Igneel clenched his fist. "Acnologia... he drove my mother insane..."
Natsuko stiffened for a split second, before relaxing. "I can help with that." she said slowly. "Acnologia had Dragon Bearer magic.... granted, it was more powerful, Nova Dragons are the second strongest dragon..."
Igneel stood up, Shosora's magic having finished its job. "I'll do it." he declared. "If I can stop him... I'll do it."
