Chapter 2

The next morning...

Thomas walked down the stairs and was greeted by his children.

"Daddy!" Cindy chirped happily, as she and Billy ran to their Father hugging his legs.

"Hey, pumpkins!" Thomas smiled, as he picked up both his kids. "How are ya, buddies? I missed you last night."

"Excuse me, sweetie?" Jessica said, who was sitting at the kitchen table.

"What's up, honey?" Thomas asked. Jessica tilted her head over to the woman sitting next to her. Thomas was shocked to see who it was. He slowly put down his kids who ran to Jessica.

"Hello, Thomas." The woman said. "Been a while, hasn't it?" Thomas recognized the woman.

"........Sheila Broflovski." Thomas said in awe. "I........don't know what to..say." They both stared at each other in surprise.

...

"It's not your fault, you know." Sheila said, sitting on a bench in the neighborhood next to Thomas. "It was that cursed movie. You.......you couldn't have known."

"Yeah, but I brought that godforsaken movie to my home against my parents' wishes." Thomas sighed, looking down. "I screwed up. And now, I gotta live with this for the rest of my life..."

"It's not like you're the only one who dealt with traumas like this." Sheila said. "Millions of others gotta deal with it and it can never be undone. But, the only thing we can do to actually recover is try to move on."

"I killed my parents, Sheila." Thomas said with a guilty tone. "I fucking killed my parents AND your's with that stupid movie... I fucked up..."

"You need to watch your mouth, Thomas." Sheila said.

"I thought you LOVED cursing?" Thomas said, looking at Sheila. "What happened to all that talk about being from South Park and cursing 24/7?"

"I'm grown now. I see that cursing was not right at all." Sheila said. "Buuuuuut, my kid does it all the time though."

"You're a Mom now?" Thomas asked. "Since when?"

"Since I got married." Sheila joked. Thomas rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, Sheila." He said.

"Anyway, you need to stop beating yourself up." Sheila continued. "I'm not blaming you for what happened. NO one is."

"EVERYONE is!" Thomas grunted. "I should've hid that movie or at least made a fu- an effort to burn it!"

"You heard the press. NOTHING can destroy it." Sheila said.

"Yeah, you're right." Thomas said. "But, I still started this. Wish I could end it..."

"I'm no Twilight Sparkle, but try hanging out with friends. That oughta cheer you up." Sheila said.

"That show's garbage..." Thomas joked. "I mean, they make the world look like a 'glorious' place where EVERYONE can make friends. Honestly, shitty shows like that just shouldn't give off friendship messages. There's no friends. Just foes."

"I personally like that show." Sheila said. "It's colorful and it has some cute characters. Not to mention that sweetheart, Fluttershy. But, my son, Kyle, thinks it's for queers."

"Well, it is." Thomas sighed. "And, it's for morons who try to think they can make friends from its fuckin' bullshit messages too. Plus, it's as unfunny as a tube sock. But, ANYWAY, I still wish I could've done something to save our parents. Instead of running out on them..."

"Nobody could do anything..." Sheila said. "The fires spread rapidly and we couldn't have any time to stop it... And what did I say about watching your mouth?"

"Come on, nothing can stop people from cursing." Thomas sighed. "Just like nothing can end famine, bullying, or world hunger. These nonprofit groups are pointlessly trying to stop all of it when it NEVER stops. They're just delaying the inevitable. But, I........wish I could've saved our parents. I REALLY messed up..."

"Everyone messes up, Thomas. There's nothing we can do about it..." Sheila said.

"Amen to that..." Thomas sighed. "I'm......gonna go take my kids to school. After that, you and I should get lunch with Jessica."

"Fair enough." Sheila said, getting up with Thomas. "But, ONLY if you stop denouncing positive shows like My Little Pony."

"Deal, I guess." Thomas said, rolling his eyes. "See ya in a bit."

Later...

Thomas dropped his kids off at kindergarten and drove off. When he parked at the restaurant, he went in and talked to one of the waitresses up front.

"Hello, reservations for Thomas Calloway please?" Thomas said to the waitress.

"I'm sorry, but you were 10 minutes late." The waitress said. "We had to give your table away."

"Are you kidding me?" Thomas asked. "It has literally been 5 minutes since I made the reservations. I just had to drop off my kids at school, how am I supposed to control that??"

"Well, maybe you should've made reservations AFTER you took your kids to school." The waitress said.

"Listen, I was running late. Now, if you can't get me my table, I guess I'll have to ask for another table." Thomas sighed, annoyed.

"It's a 9 hour wait." The waitress said.

"JUST GIVE ME MY FUCKING TABLE, YOU WORTHLESS BITCH!!!" Thomas suddenly screamed. The waitress made a horrified expression as everyone in the restaurant stared at him.

"...................I'll take anything that holds food." Thomas sighed, trying to calm down.

...

Thomas talked to the manager and police about his temper and, after that, sat at a small table next to the bathrooms with Jessica and Sheila.

"Are you fucking kidding me right now, Thomas??" Jessica whispered through gritted teeth. "Having a hissy fit in a public restaurant??? What were you thinking?!"

"She was being an idiot about my goddamn reservation I made, Jessica!" Thomas grunted quietly. "What was I supposed to do?! Let her-?!" He was interrupted by someone opening the bathroom door which hit him. "Did you want me to just LET her play the retard game with me like everyone does with each other in those idiotic bullshit sitcoms on Nickelodeon??"

"Yes! It's better than getting in trouble with the fucking police!" Jessica growled.

"I'm not fucking doing that, okay?!" Thomas grunted. "You think that this is fun for me?! Having people try and take advantage of me, goddamn it??" The bathroom door hit him again as someone opened it. He took a deep breath. "I'm not gonna allow people to treat me like shit, okay??"

"Well, you should REALLY see someone about your temper, Thomas." Sheila said, intervening. "Cause this isn't good for you or anyone."

"We should really be talking about me cause no one else matters." Thomas grunted. "Well, except the family. But, I-" He was interrupted yet again as the bathroom door hit him. He was about ready to blow up, but he took another deep breath. "But, I won't change my personality, okay? I'm just pissed about how the whole world works..."

"What are you talking about, Thomas?" Jessica asked.

"I'm talking about people acting like careless fucking assholes thinking that they can just take advantage of people and get away with it." Thomas explained. "You think people like me should just let others treat me like shit and I'm just supposed to say 'oh, that's all right. Who gives a fuck if people treat me ba-'" The bathroom door hit him again. He was in the middle of explaining something important and he was interrupted yet again. He was about ready to explode, but Jessica signaled him not to. He continued talking, "You think I should just be like-?" The bathroom door hit him again. "I'm getting VERY close to ripping that fucking door off its hinges!" He snapped, trying to keep a low volume.

"Well, don't." Sheila said. "Just keep talking."

"Okay." Thomas said, taking a deep breath. "You think I should just let people walk all over me and be like 'oh, that's all right. Who gives a fuck if people treat me bad?' No! I will not just sit around and let people treat me like a doorma-" The bathroom door hit him again. "GODDAMN IT!!!" He screamed, as he jumped up from his seat and violently ripped the bathroom door off its hinges and started smashing it onto the ground completely destroying it.

"Thomas, that's ENOUGH!!!" Jessica shouted, as Thomas stomped on the remains of the door. He stopped and looked around as everyone, children included, stared at him in shock.

"Oh, God..." A customer said in horror. Angered, Thomas stormed out of the restaurant.

Later...

As it got dark, Thomas had his children put on headphones while they slept. He and Jessica then got into a loud argument in their bedroom.

"You're acting like a fucking child, Thomas!!" Jessica shouted. "I mean, destroying public property?? What the hell is wrong with you?!?"

"You're not gonna tell me what to fucking do, Jessica!! I'm a fucking grownup and I can do WHATEVER the hell I want!!" Thomas screamed. "No one's gonna fucking tell me how to handle myself!! Just shut up and let me live my fucking life!!"

"Don't tell me to shut up!!" Jessica shouted. "You have no self-control!!"

"I have a TON of 'self-control!!'" Thomas screamed. "You have no right to tell me that!!"

"What, so am I supposed to allow you to act like a fucking 5-year old then, is that it?!?" Jessica yelled. Thomas suddenly screamed and punched the wall, leaving a hole in it.

"Thomas!!" Jessica cried. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!!"

"EVERYTHING, okay?!?!" Thomas screamed. "I gotta pay for this whole fucking house, I gotta put up with this SHIT, and to top it all off, I GOTTA DEAL WITH THE GUILT OF WHAT I DID TO MY FUCKING PARENTS!!!"

"I'm not your fucking tragedy!!" Jessica shouted, crying. "I'm your wife!! We're your family! You can't treat me this way!! You're so fucking verbally abusive!!"

"Then, get out!!" Thomas shouted. "Or better yet, I'LL get out!! I need a fuckin' drink anyway!!" He stormed out his bedroom and slammed the door behind him leaving Jessica sitting on the bed with her head down.

Thomas went for an evening drive and had a beer at the local bar. Then later, he had a few friends drive him back home and park his car at the drive way for him.

"Thanks, Bobby!" Thomas called out from the front porch.

"Anytime, Skinny." Bobby called out, driving off. Thomas quietly unlocked the front door, closed it behind him, and walked into the living room. He stared off into space. Then, a few minutes later, he washed his face and hands and slept on the couch. He had a hard time sleeping though. Especially after the fight. He tossed and turned, suddenly crying in his sleep.

"God..." He muttered. "God help me..." He was about ready to burst into tears when a sound woke him up. He saw Cindy standing beside him holding her blanket. "Cindy? What are you doing out of bed?" He asked sternly. "It's already tomorrow." Cindy suddenly threw the blanket over him and tucked him in the way he does with her. Thomas stared at the blanket then his daughter in shock. "After everything I've done for you, you're tucking ME in now?" He asked Cindy. Cindy nodded. Then, the Father and daughter hugged as Thomas tried to hold back tears the best he can.
