Chapter 1
Antrum was taken to the Police department where it was studied by forensics. That night however, it was stolen and distributed to the public who met the same fates as Thomas and Sheila's families. Panic ensued the streets of the U.S. and all copies of Antrum were burned. Except for the original which was converted into reel tapes. When the Police recovered it, they resumed studying it, realizing that Antrum could be cursed. Because it could not be destroyed, the Government had it hidden away in Washington D.C. hoping that it could never be found again.
Washington D.C.,
White House,
Many years later...
President Jerry Nichols sat at his desk with his head down and his hands folded on his desk. He thought really hard to himself. I pray no one will ever find Antrum and expose its reality to the public ever again.
"Sir?" A soldier walked in with a remote in his hand. "We have made every security measure in the basement and this remote will activate everything to keep Antrum hidden away from the world." President Nichols didn't respond. "Is something wrong, sir?" The soldier asked.
"Nothing's wrong." President Nichols replied with a quiet voice. "..............Actually, there is something wrong. It's been years since Antrum came to our country and.................the island where people claimed it came from....no one can find it. What if another Antrum comes to light."
"It will be fine, sir." The soldier said, nodding. "Nothing will happen. Antrum is hidden away and if the island is too, the world will be fine." President Nichols didn't speak. "Sir?"
"Nevermind. It's fine. I'm fine." The President said. "Hand me the remote." The soldier gave him the remote and he pressed the button.
Gilbert, Arizona,
Local Fry's Store,
One year later...
Thomas sat in the break room reading a newspaper before getting ready to leave the store. The headlines read, "ANTRUM HIDDEN AWAY FROM PUBLIC. FIRST VIEWER THOMAS CALLOWAY GIVES STATEMENT ON EFFECTS OF ANTRUM." Thomas sighed as the newspaper fell onto his lap. He took a silver can of IPA and gulped it down. A million names on newspapers and they gotta reveal my full fuckin' name on the Goddamn headlines.... He thought with a sour look on his face. Fuck me...
"Boss?" An employee walked in.
"Bryan, can't you see I'm reading here?" Thomas complained. "What do ya want?"
"We're closing up now. Time to leave." Bryan said.
"Figured as much." Thomas said, folding the newspaper, getting up, and walking past Bryan, through the store, and out the door. It was dark out and Thomas was tired. As he made it to his car, he saw that it was covered in toilet paper. "Okay, who the FUCKING hell TPed my FUCKING CAR?!!" He screamed in rage. He saw three teens from across the street mocking him and making faces at him and running away. "You'd BETTER run, you cocksucking CUNTS!!!" Thomas called out in his rage. He looked next to him and saw a Mother and her son staring at him in horror. "......They started it." Thomas said. He aggressively pulled the toilet paper off his car as they Mother and son walked off, got into his car, and drove away.
Thomas drove along the quiet street and stopped at a red light. "Great... Just great..." He groaned. The light turned green and Thomas prepared to continue driving, but the car wouldn't move. "What the hell?" Thomas muttered, trying to drive. "Why isn't the fucking car moving??"
HOOOONK!
Another driver behind Thomas honked their horn.
"My car is out of gas, you asshole!!!" Thomas shouted from his window. "Give me a break, will ya?!"
HOOOOONK!!
"Will you go already, asshole??" The driver behind Thomas called out.
"Oh, I'M an asshole?!?" Thomas shouted. "I'm not the guy who FUCKED his Mother before bed!! Now, FUCK OFF OR I WILL SKULL FUCK YOU, PRICKWAD!!" The driver aggressively drove past Thomas, flipping him off as he drove away. "FUCK YOU TOO, SHITHEAD!!!" Thomas screamed, causing nearby neighbors to turn on their house lights. "Fuck this..." Thomas groaned, climbing out of his car and pushing it throughout the street.
Thomas continued pushing his car until he arrived at home. He pushed his car onto the driveway and pulled open the garage door. He walked in, grabbed a gas can, and filled his car up with gas. He put his gas can back in the garage and walked into his house. The house was clean. The kitchen was spotless. The living room was picked up. And the carpets were cleaned up. I see everything's picked up. Thomas thought. At least ONE good thing came out of this rotten night. He walked upstairs and stopped in front of his daughter, Cindy's room. It was cracked open. He slowly opened it to see his 5-year old daughter sleeping quietly. His 4-year old son, Billy, was sleeping with her. Apparently, Billy had another nightmare Thomas knew. So, he went to his big sister for comfort instead of his Mom for some reason. Thomas quietly walked into the bedroom, leaned down, and kissed both his kids on the cheeks. He walked out and gently closed the door. Then, he walked into his bedroom where his wife, Jessica, was reading one of her romance novels. Without changing, he fell onto his bed tiredly.
"You had another angry episode, did you?" Jessica asked, still looking at her book.
"Those kids threw toilet paper all over my car again." Thomas sighed. "They threw it and they laughed at me like it was some kind of fuckin' game. They act like it's fun, but in reality, it's just causing trouble. What's so fun about screwing with other adults?? Huh??"
"They're just kids, okay?" Jessica replied. "What are you gonna do?"
"Don't you watch the news, Jessica?" Thomas said. "Just kids end up being just adults in just fucking prison. That's one of the reasons why our country is in turmoil. Parents can't discipline their kids because it's 'against the law.' If they law never had their way, the world would start running more smoothly."
"This has nothing to do with the law, Thomas." Jessica said, looking at her husband. "You need to start having a better attitude in life. ACT like an adult. Talk to someone about your temper cause THIS isn't working."
"So, what the hell am I supposed to do??" Thomas complained, trying to keep his voice at a low volume. "Just let people walk all over me like a doormat?? No. I'm not doing that. I'm not gonna let people do that to me."
"Well, you need to show respect for others cause we're having company over tomorrow and they haven't seen you in years."
"Company??" Thomas said, shocked. "Nobody told me company was coming over. Who is it?"
"Sheila." Jessica said, shocking Thomas even more. "Sheila Broflovski. You remember her, right?" Thomas was quiet for once. He couldn't think of what to say.
"Sheila...?" He said in shock. "I......I haven't seen her in years. Not since......." He started to tremble.
"Hey, hey, it's okay." Jessica said, hugging her husband. "You have us. And, we won't leave you."
"You don't understand..." Thomas said, trying to hold back tears. "I'm the one who brought that fucking movie to our home in the first place. If it weren't for me, Mom and Dad AND Sheila's parents would still be alive. I killed them... I did this..."
"You did nothing, sweetie." Jessica said. "Don't blame yourself. You couldn't have known. Movies don't normally have curses."
"You clearly haven't seen The Exorcist or Poltergeist." Thomas said, causing Jessica to chuckle. "...But, I still brought that movie to them. I should have listened to them. But, I fucking didn't... Now, they're dead. .....I should go to sleep now." Thomas got into the covers and fell asleep. Jessica turned the lamp off and did the same.
2 hours later...
Thomas grunted in his sleep. Then, he woke up and found himself and his wife in a strange room. It wasn't his room. He didn't know where he was. "What the hell...?" He muttered quietly. "Where are we? Jessica?" He shook hi sleeping wife, but she fell over to the ground. Thomas looked and saw that she had a knife in her chest.
"Jessica?!? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" He screamed. Then, suddenly, everything went dark. Then, he found himself in an old retro-y and cartoony type room. It was a kitchen. "What the hell is this?! Hello?!? Anyone???" He cried. He turned around to see a poorly designed cartoon teddy bear slowly stirring a pot of beans while giving him a creepy stare. "What the hell are you looking at, damn it?!" Thomas cried in fear.
"......................." The bear didn't utter a sound.
"I SAID WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LOOKING AT, YOU STUPID STUFFED FUCK?!?!" Thomas screamed. "I demand a fucking answer!!" The bear's eyes began to glow a shade of red.
"................." It still didn't make even a peep. Thomas ran to what appeared to be a poorly drawn door. He reached for the doorknob, but it was just a drawing. He tried to jump out a window, but that was just drawn too. Everything was.
"What the hell is going on?!?" Thomas cried. "Get me the fuck out of here, you stupid bear!!" The bear slowly began to show sharp teeth, growing suddenly from its mouth. But, they weren't normal sharp teeth. Like the bear itself, they looked otherworldly.
"..............." The bear still wouldn't talk.
"TALK TO ME ALREADY!!" Thomas screamed.
".................................." The bear did nothing but stare at Thomas as it stirred the pot of beans.
"TALK TO ME NOW, YOU STUPID, STUPID, CHRIST FORSAKEN FUCK!!!!!" Thomas screamed at the top of his lungs, lunging at the bear, but it suddenly whacked Thomas across the face with its spoon sending him flying towards the wall and onto the ground. He slowly got up and saw that the bear continued staring at him and stirring the pot of beans like nothing happened.
"PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE, DAMN IT!!" Thomas begged, sobbing loudly. "GET ME THE FUCK OUT OF HERE NOW!!! I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!"
"..............." The bear didn't speak. "............................You killed your family, Thomas...." It finally spoke with a deeply demonic voice. "...................You brought the movie into your home. You are responsible for bringing this movie to your country. This is all your fault......"
"I didn't know!" Thomas sobbed. "I didn't know it would cause this!! I DIDN'T KNOW!! I DIDN'T WANT THIS!!"
"I DIDN'T WANT THIS!!" The bear repeated, using Thomas' voice. "I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIS, I DIDN'T WANT THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!" Thomas screamed. Then, suddenly, everything went black. "....Hello? Hello?!?" Thomas suddenly couldn't move. He was frozen. He couldn't even talk. Not even a mumble. But, he could move his eyes. He looked around the best he could. Then, he looked straight ahead and saw a dark blue light slowly coming towards him. In the center of that light was a lit candle. He tried to push himself to move the best he could. But, he just couldn't. The candle stopped in front of his face. He could hear his own voice coming from the candle. It said, "I didn't want this............" in a much more quieter tone. "I didn't want this, I didn't want this, I didn't want this, I didn't want this, I didn't want this........................." An unseen force blew out the candle. Then, it was dark again. And quiet. ".............................................................................................I DiDN't wANT thIs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"AAAAAAHH!!!" Thomas suddenly screamed, jolting up from his bed. "NO!! NO!! HEELP!!"
"Thomas, Thomas, stop!!" Jessica shouted, trying to control her husband. "You're having a bad dream! Enough!"
"No!! Please!!" Thomas screamed repeatedly. "NO, NO, NO, NO-!!!!!" Jessica suddenly slapped his face. He started to take several deep breaths and then, he finally calmed down. "Ahh..!" He gasped. "Goddamn.......... God............" Tears fell from his eyes in exhaustion. "I saw a teddy bear.... It stared right at me..... Like he wanted me......." Jessica hugged her traumatized husband. "Then......I saw a candle." Thomas continued. "I heard my own voice coming from it. It blew out and everything went quiet... Then..............." He began to tremble, getting ready to have another episode. "I heard a demonic voice scream at me and say.....I didn't want this......"
"Hey, hey, it's okay, honey." Jessica said. "I'm here. You're okay. Nothing's wrong. You're here. You're okay."
"Mommy? Daddy?" Billy suddenly appeared at the bedroom door holding his blanket. "What's going on?"
"Oh, honey. Everything's okay." Jessica said, getting up. "Let's get you back in bed. Daddy's just having another bad dream." She led Billy out of the room while Thomas stared down at his blankets sweating a whole lot. He could feel the sweat dripping from his bald head.
".............I'm okay. I'm okay." He said to himself. "Tomorrow is another day. And my day off, but that makes it even better. Tomorrow is another.............shitty day..."
