Chapter-72 The battle
This is the second part of four updates today. Make sure you read chapter-71 before you read this.
"I know everything is happening too fast but we can do this," Elijah spoke as we all sat in the living room, deciding about our fight strategy. It's around four a.m. now. From what Luna's mom said, they'll be here by dawn and that'll be dawn in an hour or two.
Even though we have no clue about how many of them we are fighting against, all of us are prepared to give our best. It's a fight or death situation and we have no other choice other than to kill them.
Luna has improved a lot, who am I kidding, she has improved enormously. I am amazed at how a person can master witch craft in just few hours. But then like Elijah said, it is Luna we are talking about. She can do anything.
Damn, I am so proud of my mate.
"Luna just fights the monster," Aron warned.
I agree with him, she has to concentrate only on the main goal, to destroy him. The rest, we'll take care of it, we'll make sure that no one's in the way of her and the monster. I have faith in my mate, she'll kill him.
"Yes, Luna will come only when the monster is spotted. Till that you stay with Luke, waiting for our signal." Elijah completed, making Luna frown.
"There's no way I'll wait while you guys are fighting. Before you tell me anything, listen to me once. I've been trained by spirits my whole life to fight the vampire king. Now that's out of picture, I can at least use that to fight the unknown," she chucked trying hard to lighten the mood.
But in reality, she is scared too. All of us are. The only thing that holds us together is the trust we have on each other.
"Luna, please understand," Santiago soft voice pleaded Luna.
"No, I want to help," she whined frowning. Now is not the time to argue Luna.
"No, you are staying with me till we spot the monster," I growled.
She needs to save her energy. We should never underestimate the monster. The only thing we know is how he's born. But apart from that, there's no material available about his powers nor about how strong he is.
"Luna," Victor started. "The monster would want you to fight. And you fighting is equal to you walking straight into your death trap. Don't forget that they found a way to kill you."
He is right, of course that monster will first try to use his cult to kill Luna and only after it fails, he'll come straight for the attack. Because he knows that she's the one who can kill him and he definitely won't take a risk. He won't underestimate his opponents and we should do the same.
"The way to bring him out of his hiding is to destroy his cult as much as we can," Milton agreed with Victor.
"We have created a magical armor, that'll protect you from jasper wood. Make sure that they don't pierce your visible skin," Santiago spoke with a serious face.
Since we came here, this is the first time I am seeing Santiago being so serious. He is always this soft sweet guy.
"And for Luna," Elijah started, "you and Luke will be in the protection room created by the four of us. You can see what's happening from there and no one can come inside from the outside, even we cannot come in. Please understand how serious this is. Only when you spot him you come out and fight okay?" there was a warning in tone. Like he wanted her to be safe at all costs. And I appreciate that.
But why do I feel like they are hiding something?
"Fine but if situation gets out of control, I am coming there to fight," my mate crossed her arms and glared at them.
"No," all four of them growled.
So, there is something these warlocks know that we vampires don't. If they don't tell us then there must be a reason and now is not the time to dwell further and question them. The only way we can make this work is us completely trusting them and me questioning them breaks the whole chain.
"They should be here any time so it's better we get in the position," Milton stood up nodding at us.
He is right. According to our strategy, Carter, Samantha, Milton, Santiago and Aron guards the northern front and Victor, Elijah, Jeremy and Sandra guard the southern front. All of were given a magic thread to communicate, we could talk with each other without any trouble and them hearing us.
"I know now is not the time but know that you are everything I ever dreamed of in a daughter. I am so proud of you Angel," Milton took Luna in a tight hug making my heart clench.
Luna just got her family and there's no way I am letting something happening to her or her family. We'll survive through this and we'll have our happy ending too.
"Love you dad," Luna let out a soft sob.
"Don't worry sis, we have a lot of time to catch up," Victor hugged her followed by Aron and Santiago.
Damn, why do they have to face this? Their family deserve all the happiness. For the sake of their happiness, I sincerely pray that everything ends in our favor.
"It's time, they'll be here in few minutes," Sandra warned making all of us freeze for a second.
With a smile, all of us went to our position. Me and Luna came inside the protection room. I know, I should be out there fighting but Aron and Santiago wanted me to protect Luna just in case their spell fails. I don't know why they are so worried about Luna; I mean I am worried too but I have trust in my mate's powers. She can do this.
"We are in this together and we'll have our happily ever after Luna, I promise," I took her into a soft kiss.
This time there was a desperation in our kiss, the need to have our forever, pain of something terrible happening and the wanting to be there in each other's embrace. Both of us wanted this to end in our favor, not loosing any of us. But a tiny part of me is afraid about how that might not be the case. This war we are talking about and we should be emotionally prepared about the loss.
Breaking the kiss, I took her into a tight hug, enjoying her presence. She is my biggest strength and even if something happens to me, I will make sure that Luna is safe at all costs.
"Come to the southern front, they are here," we heard Elijah growl. Giving a small peck in her head, we started watching what's happening from here. With me still holding Luna close to me.
Black hooded figures started walking towards us one by one with the nine of us from our side, waiting for the attack. These hooded figures looked like humans but since their whole body from head to toe is covered, I am not sure what they are.
Just like I expected, we are outnumbered by innumerous amount. The hooded figures kept coming. There are hundreds of hooded figures and from what I am seeing, the monster is not with them.
They stopped fifty feet away from us. Then a hooded figure started walking towards us before he stopped twenty feet away from them. With all nine of them ready to fight.
Why is that guy coming alone?
Is he here to make a deal or what?
"You guys were outnumbered," the hooded figure spoke. "I don't want to kill all of you, hand over Luna to us and we'll leave," he growled.
Wait, I have heard this voice somewhere. With a snap from Elijah, that hooded figure's hoodie flied out in air making me chuckle at how amateur the hooded figure is. That's when I saw, Daniel, that old filthy hag. He was the black sheep.
Shit, why didn't I think of this before? I should have suspected him when his stack of jasper wood went missing. He outsmarted us by supplying from his own storage. Shit, since Aurora was attacked, I thought he wouldn't be the suspect as nobody kills their own blood.
Hell, how wrong I am.
"Traitor," Victor growled at him.
I clenched my fists waiting for him to speak. Now is not the time to act emotionally, now is the time to act logically and not let emotions rule our senses. But there's no way I am letting Daniel go alive from this war. He'll either die from one their hands or from mine. I am not letting that betrayer go away that easily.
"Your filthy hybrid has no right to speak. It is because of people like you, our whole vampire bloodline is polluted," he spit out making my fangs elongate in anger.
"Calm down Luke, he'll die today," Luna brought me back to reality, helping me control my rage.
"Lucas is making a mistake by siding you filthy fellows. He should be the one to kill you by protecting our pure bloodline, instead he is supporting you filthy fellows." Daniel continued with each word came out like a fire.
He and his pride for pureblooded lines.
"He should've married my granddaughter and kept the bloodline pure, instead he chose that bitch of a maid instead of my granddaughter."
How dare he talk about my mate like this, I closed my eyes taking deep breath not to let his words get me.
"Stop boring out with talking," Elijah yawned making Daniel go all red in embarrassment, "tell me why you are here. You know very well that we are not going to give Luna to you guys," he tapped his feet just to annoy Daniel.
"Then you all die, fight," he growled as the hooded figures started approaching us.
All the vampires started fighting with the hooded vampires and the warlocks started burning the hooded figures in batch. The whole fight looked like I am watching some movie about the great Greek war.
Sandra was fighting fiercely with Daniel, with both of them being strong, the fight is going on with a close call, both trying to win dominance.
Jeremy took hold of the jasper wood from a dead hooded figure and started using it as a knife to kill all the hooded figures coming along his way. Damn, he has definitely became stronger than I last know him. If only my sister was alive, I could have accepted this Jeremy to marry her. He is now indeed a great warrior.
Victor on the other hand was fighting with three hooded figures simultaneously, if not for his powers from Celine, it would've been a harder job to do.
Milton, Carter and Samantha were killing those figures as a team, fighting like they were born to do it.
Don't even get me started with the warlocks, they are letting out colorful balls that looked like some celebration going on. They were all killing these people like they were all chilling on a vacation. That was dead cool.
So far, we have the major hand in the battle but to my dismay, the hooded figures kept coming in batches one after other. It's like they have a never-ending stock of toys to fight.
"You, filthy witch can never win a pure-blooded vampire," Daniel laughed as he punched Sandra on the ground.
Damn Sandra, fight back. She kicked him away and coughed blood, that's when I realized that he must have injected something inside her, which is the reason why she couldn't fight Daniel. There's no way Daniel can fight such a powerful witch.
I have to go there before he could do any worse to her.
"Luna, you stay here and don't come back till you spot him understand?" I growled at her. Fortunately, Luna didn't argue back and nodded her head.
"I have a bone to take," with a smirk I left the room to kill Daniel from my own hands.
Dodging the hooded figures coming on my way I ran straight to Daniel, letting out the blood lusty Lucas who wanted revenge for his sister's death out. I don't care if I look like a monster, I don't care if Luna gets scared of me. At this point, all I wanted was to kill that filthy had, kill that betrayer.
Prolonging my fangs, I took Daniel by neck and slammed him straight at a tree behind us. With the force I slammed him, the whole tree fell down on impact, forcing me to slam him on another slowly.
"You traitor, how dare you," I strangled his neck with more force as he struggled to fight back. Who am I kidding, he is nowhere as powerful as a royal vampire? Even though he is a pure blooded, we are royal vampires for a reason.
"Here," I heard Jeremy as he throwed me a stack of jasper wood. Giving him a thankful nod, I smirked at Daniel as fear consumed his whole body.
"Please, I will help you fight and win this battle, without me you'll die at the end," he stuttered.
How dare he, even now he is acting like the selfish bastard he is.
"And what makes you think I would believe a traitor?" I growled slightly inserting the stake at his stomach.
"Because, the leader is not here and he won't be coming here unless the situation gets worse. I can help you kill the hooded figures, they have powers because of magic once you remove their magic, they are nothing but innocent human bodies," he coughed in pain.
I let out a hard laugh, "once a traitor, always a traitor," with that I plugged the jasper wood straight into his heart as he fell down a lifeless body.
"Did you hear that?" I growled waiting for Elijah to hear. "Is there a way to remove their magic?" I growled back.
"Yes, while I perform the spell, I need someone to cover for me," he spoke back.
"On my way," I ran straight next to Elijah. On the way, I saw Cater and Samantha fighting those hooded figures along with Aron and Santiago. Milton on the other is going towards the hooded figure army along with Milton.
Damn, they are all amazing.
"How long do you need?" I asked Elijah while both of us snapped the head of those poor manipulated humans.
"No idea but I do need quite some time." I nodded and started fighting the hooded figure as Elijah sat in a meditating posture murmuring the spell.
Jeremy joined me as both of us kept fighting those figures. Minutes passed by with everyone of us fighting before we felt a very bad Aurora coming near us.
It must be him, the monster, all of us could sense it, the terrible negative aura.
"Done," Elijah stood up as all the hooded figure fell down.
"Well, well, well, who do we have here," the man growled as the ten of us stood in a straight line waiting to fight him before Luna could come.
He opened his hood making every one of us flinch, he looks worse than how we saw him on Celine's memory. Hell, he looks disgusting.
With a snap of his fingers, he captured all ten of us making us freeze on the spot.
How the hell did he do that? There's no way he could capture the warlocks and the vampire king with a snap of his fingers. But he did, that only means one thing, he is more powerful than all of us combined. There's no way Luna could handle this. Her coming out is her walking towards her death.
'Luna don't come,' I mind linked her praying that she will stay safe.
"Now the fight is with me and Luna, I don't want you guys to be involved. Come out Luna," he screamed waiting for Luna.
There's no way Luna can face him alone.
"Luna don't," Aron growled through the magic thread.
That monster let out a sadistic laugh, "that my dear is cheating," he snapped his finger as Aron screamed in pain.
How the hell is he doing that?
'Luna don't come,' I warned her through the bond.
"Come on Luna," he growled making Aron scream more.
"I am here, stop torturing my family," Luna growled as she walked next to us.
What the hell have you done Luna?
Why?
Why?
Why?
The only thing now I can do is to pray that everything happens in our favor. I just hope Luna could face him alone.
She has Celine's power with her and hope she kills him without harming herself.
A/N: So???
