Chapter-57 His version
"Mom, she's sleeping," I heard Luke's voice, silencing someone.
"I know, your dad and I just wanted to see her. We are not here to disturb," a new female voice whisper yelled at Luke. More like ordering him in an affectionate way.
What is happening?
Where am I?
Oh yeah, I slept a while back after the painful argument with Aurora. She hates me, just like everyone else. I though, I hoped it wouldn't be the case but at the end everyone will hate me one way or the other.
I wonder why Luke haven't hated me yet.
I moved in the soft sheets trying to wake up. God, what did those people drugged me with? I still feel so damn tired, even though it's been a week, this is so not me.
Looking at my moments, "Hey it's okay sleep," Luke gently caressed my hair.
This bond is messing up my mind. It's so calming and healing. Every time I hear Luke's voice, I go haywire. Even though I wanted to sleep, it will be disrespectful now that his parents are here.
Shaking my head, I woke up shrugging of the tiredness.
"Hello kid," A women cooed as she sat next to me. That's when I saw her face clear. Luke is the exact carbon copy of this women, she must me his mother. His amber eyes and the snow-white skin, he got that from his mother. But her hair wasn't golden like Luke's, it was light brown. But God, she's beautiful, I could look at her all day. No one would believe if they were told that she's the mother of my mate. She looks super young and classy just like a queen.
"Hello my lady," I bowed down in respect.
If Luke's the vampire king, then they are the kings' parents, they are my mates' parents and I should respect them.
"Hush, you are my son's mate. Call me mom and there's no need for any formalities," she smiled at me.
I could faintly smell her love and adoration towards me. A huge part of me is relieved that she doesn't hate me.
I am also glad that I am regaining my powers back even though the process is very slow.
"How are you honey?" she took my hands giving it a squeeze, just like Luke. Now I know where Luke got this habit from. His mother.
"I am good," I gave her a smile, not knowing how to respond.
God, why am I so nervous to meet my mate's parents? Do they know that I am the same person who's cursed to kill their son?
My heartbeat raised in panic.
"Mom you are making her nervous," Luke grumbled making me giggle.
"Am I making you nervous honey?" her voice sounded so soft as if she's speaking to a glass, afraid that it'll break any minute.
"You are," Luke huffed making her slap her son's hand with a chuckle.
This time with a huge smile I shook my head. It's Luke's mom and there's no need to be nervous around her.
"I am here too," another voice interrupted us. Luke let out a soft laugh which sounded sweeter than honey to my ears. God, I am slowly becoming a lovesick puppy.
That's when I saw another man standing next to his mom. How can I not see his father?
"Who cares," her mother silenced the person behind her, making his father huff playfully. It must be his dad, the king. Luke got his golden hair from his dad. Now I know why Luke reminds me of a Lion, he has every feature that of lion, including his appearance.
"Luna, this is my mom Evelina and dad Nicholas."
"Hello," I bowed at them.
"I like her already," her mother gushed, grinning before she started talking non stop about everything and anything.

I love Luke's parents, that's not a sentence, it's a statement. They are the sweetest people I've ever known next to Luke. I don't know whether they know my real identity or not but they not even once acted like some egoistical king and queen. I love them, I am glad that Luke has such an amazing parent.
Looking at the bond they share; I sometimes wonder how my family would've looked if not for my curse. Will I be able to form a happy family with Luke?
Impossible, a voice inside me bled in pain. Every part of me hopes that there'll be a way for us to get over this together.
All three of them looked so genuine and I have no clue, why Luke was cursed in the first place. That's when I remembered what Charlotte showed me in the first place, I have to ask Luke's about that.
"The food's here," Luke smiled arranging the food on the table.
Sitting in the table, I waited patiently for Luke to come so that we could talk.
"I made them prepare vegetarian food, I hope you like it," he said sitting next to me.
Could this guy me more considerate than he is now?
"Luke."
"Here eat it," he put the food in the plate.
Why do I feel like he is acting all nervous?
"Luke, why are you so nervous?"
He froze for a second before turning to look at me, trying to hide his nervousness.
"Is it that obvious?" I nodded my head.
"What is it, Luke?" I moved my chair a bit closer to his as I cupped his cheeks. He closed his eyes, leaning onto my touch.
"After my parents left, you didn't mention whether you like them or not," he spoke with a lot of hesitation.
Oh god, this is the reason why he is nervous. Poor Luke.
"Luke, I love them, why would I not like them? They are like the sweetest people I've ever met," I chuckled.
Luke then started talking about everything I should know about him being a king. During the whole lunch, I couldn't interrupt him to talk but now that we ate, I need to talk. I want truth.
"Luke," I held his hand, afraid that I'll hurt him by asking something personal. I know, I don't know anything about it still a part of me firmly believes that whatever he did, it's very personal to him, something that hurt him to the core.
"We need to talk," I gulped the air after holding my breath for minutes.
"What happened?" he panicked hearing to me.
I shook my head, "No, everything is fine, this is different." I mumbled.
"I need to talk with you too," he said as we went back to his room.
Sitting on his bed, I contemplated whether to answer his questions or ask him mine. I decided to go with the first since that would give me some time to prepare.
"The healer said you were unconscious for days and someone tried to kill you."
It wasn't a question; he wants to know what exactly happened. I took a deep breath to tell him everything. There's no point in hiding it any further, the reason I came to the king is to talk about the cult.
I started telling everything that happened after I left, how I know Aurora, how I lied to her to get help so that I could come up with a plan to kill the vampire king. Luke flinched when I told him about the messed-up situation we are in, but he held me closer as I leaned on his shoulders continuing the story.
I told him how Aurora's grandfather harassed me, how victor saved me, making him growl in anger. Keeping a hand on his chest, I continued telling him, how that night I went for a walk before some unknown person stabbed jasper wood in my stomach and left me to bleed. If not for Milton, how I would be long gone.
I felt his frustration, pain and anger through the bond. My Luke. I snuggled further into him.
"But can jasper wood kill you?" Luke's grip on me tightened. He is right, it can't.
I shook my head, "That's the strange thing, I've been stabbed by jasper wood a numerous time as a part of my training but not even once it harmed me. But Milton thinks the cult found a way to kill me and that's why it affected me a lot."
I could hear his erratic heartbeat as he closed his eyes, inhaling my scent.
"Why?" he wondered out loud. Even I have no clue why, if they are here to harm the vampires, why would they try to kill me? A smart person would try to befriend me to use me against them.
"I don't know," I started drawing pattern in his biceps, thinking the possibilities.
I wish instead of the king and monster; we were two regular mates with a normal life.
After some time, "We are in this together, now that I am here no one can harm you. We'll solve everything together." He gave a small peck on my head; I tightened my grip on his torso.
I hope so too, I wanted to tell him how I don't care about me but more like afraid about his safety. So, I changed the topic.
"Luke, the spirits," I bit my lips closing my eyes, "they showed me how you killed their people, I saw it all but I want to know the reason." I don't know if I framed them in a perfect sentence but I need to know his side of story.
"They killed my sister," he took a deep breath, "all those men I killed, they raped her one by one before they killed her," his grip tightened around me as he squeezed his eyes shut.
I could feel the intense pain through the bond that for a second, I thought I am getting a heart attack.
What have they done?
If the pain I feel through the bond itself is this intense, I couldn't even imagine the pain he is going through now.
A/N: Can you guess where the story is going?
Here is the truth of what happened to his sister. It's time for the truths and confrontation.
