That was when we could hear his footsteps approaching. They were heavy, proud, footsteps that seemed to echo even on soft ground. He was definitely the Alpha, and I felt the wolf on top us cower slightly. Even if the Alpha was nice or kind to those who worked for him, the Alpha blood always made people want to submit. However, we didn't cower even after hearing how big this Alpha had to be. It was not in us to cower beneath another Alpha.
A growl came from him. It was deep because it came from the bottom of his throat. The wolf stepped off of us and we lifted up to our feet to look where it went. A pain in our left shoulder said that it was broken, and Skylar whined while picking it up quickly.
We saw the wolf that was holding us down heading behind a tree. This was to most likely to shift and put clothes on. I still couldn't see the Alpha, but I could feel his eyes on me. The scent had changed in the air because power was radiating off him. It felt like he was right in front of us, but we still couldn't see him. I growled lowly for a warning.
Movement came from behind a tree. The wolf that had pinned us down came from behind it. He was extremely tall and I have to say, quite good looking. Large, grey eyes, looked back at me with porcelain skin surrounding them and long dark brown hair that framed his face perfectly. I had never saw someone so pretty, especially a guy.
He looked at me, probably waiting for me to shift. I wasn't going to though, because they had to think I couldn't shift with clothes on. I didn't want to let them think any different. That was the one bad thing about the way that I could still keep my clothes on when I shift. It shows something powerful, something that makes you more powerful than most.
It meant that your mother had you in wolf form. I was born a wolf puppy, because she was in her wolf form when I was born. After I was born I shifted into my human form. It means I've always had Skylar with me; she's always been there. Most wolves didn't shift to their wolf form until they turned 14. That also meant that I had better stamina, senses, and I could learn things quicker than most wolves. That made school very easy for me, which is also the reason I graduated college at 19.
But right now, none of that mattered. All that mattered is that they didn't need to know that I could shift with my clothes on. So we stood there, not moving, just staring at the male. He stared back, but it was a short staring contest. This was because another deep growl vibrated around us, and the male lowered his head in submission.
That was when he stepped out, even though we couldn't see much. The Alpha. Yet the worse thing was what Skylar exclaimed when she saw him.
Mate! Mate! Please, Mel let me see him!
That was the reason that we could smell his Alpha blood. The other wolves weren't smelling him as much, they just felt him. It hit me then, the reason he growled so predatorily at the male was because he saw him as competition. It gave me some sort of weird comfort that at least I knew the male before me was an Alpha, for sure.
"Rouge? What the hell are you doing on my property?" I could feel the power coming from his voice. I immediately knew that this Alpha was a grave threat because his voice made us sink into ourselves and look to the ground. That was not a good sign. Skylar whined mentally, knowing she can't show weakness to this Alpha. She had to remain strong, at least for now.
"Rouge? I'm talking to you." With every word, his voice became more like a growl. I knew what this meant. He was loosing his patience quicker than anyone I've ever saw. I could tell he was different and not in a good way. He started growling louder in warning over a few seconds since I wasn't answering him.
He lost what patience he had it and made it over to us in a matter of seconds. He grabbed us by our hurt shoulder and lifted us off of the ground. That was what sent Skylar raging at him. She whimpered at him and lashed out, biting the side of his shoulder so he could feel what we did. However, he didn't budge. He seemed to grow calm and looked us in the eyes. It's like they always said, calm before the storm. He smiled at us, a sadistic smirk. His eyes were emerald green, his jawbones sharp. Platinum blonde hair was trying to cover his eyes. I didn't have long to admire his beauty, because in one second I could see his sadistic smirk and the next he threw us across the clearing we were in and caused us to hit a tree. Skylar cried out at the pain.
