Chapter | 16

Word Count:

"I assume Tyler told you something, and you figured it out? Therefore you called your mother but didn't tell her where you are?" I just looked at the blonde headed man in front of me sitting behind his desk with his glasses hanging lightly off his nose. He had a black t-shirt on. I looked at all the tattoos that had been etched into his skin, and it was hard to not go running into his arms from the bond.

He was a beautiful man if I was honest. His light blonde hair was curly and it came down to his eyebrows. His green eyes sparkled, and you could see purple specks in them. His nose was straight, but it didn't come out as far as some people's. His lips were a light pink color and faded into his tan skin. His top lip was a little smaller than his bottom lip, but any woman would be jealous of him. His jawline wasn't as sharp as Tyler's, but it was still noticeable.

"How did you know?" I ask. Jackson looked up while pushing his black rimmed glasses up his nose. His green eyes turned bright when he saw me, and his wolf was asking to be let free.

"Tyler has done it before. He's my messenger, and he does anything I tell him to do. I told him to tell you that. I knew you were smart enough to figure it out, but I didn't want you to until it was too late. I'm waiting for Nila to show up at my door asking for me, but I'll be ready." I knew he was cunning, but not this bad.

"If you hurt her, you're dead. I can take you on, Alpha against Alpha, and I'll win." Jackson smirked at my words and sat back in his chair.

"Tyler? Leave us." Jackson looked over to his brother who's hand I was still gripping onto like he was my only lifeline. To be true he was. Jackson's eyes dilated as he saw me holding his hand. If I didn't let go, he may murder his own brother.

"Why does he have to leave? We can do this with him here." I said, but Jackson shook his head no.

"Go, now." Tyler nodded and hugged my waist before letting go of my hand, and I watched his retreating back. His muscles tense, probably knowing Jackson was about to go off. He was daring to hug me while in Jackson's presence.

"What do you want from my family?" I looked fiercely back at Jackson; he still had the same smirk on his face.

"I want to know why you ran. I'm not accepting a Rouge for a mate, especially not one that ran away from her duty." I glared at him. Skylar was getting angry by now and not liking how he called us a Rouge. She was also mad as his wolf had sunk deep, letting him figure this out on his own. That was good control of a wolf.

"Can I sit?" I ask looking at one of the red chairs in front of his desk. He nodded, and I went over before sitting down and putting my gaze to the black, carpeted floor.

"So? I assume your going to tell me something?" I just put my hand through my hair.

"You know Tyler Bloodlust, correct?" I looked back up at the slight surprise on Jackson's face.

"He was my father, as you could probably figure out-" though Jackson stopped me.

"No, he can't be. He was supposedly killed durning the war?" Jackson looked at me, not believing me.

"Yes, he was supposed to be dead, but my mom found him before he died. She was a doctor, so she helped him heal before too much damage was done. She had known him for a long time, but they just never recognized each other as mates until she had enough love to save him. He was different after that, training his whole pack to the brink of death. Making them stronger so that if they were ever attacked again, they could snap a neck with one hand. He was my father." Jackson nodded.

"Anyway, a Rouge came in right before we left, and an army came in the next day. He told us to run, to save ourselves. He knew that it was his time to die. So me and my family ran, and we made it out of the territory before he was killed, along with some of the pack."

"So it's true..." Jackson tapped his pen on his lips, mumbling to himself.

"Listen, I don't exactly trust you yet, but if your mom comes and has the same story, I'll let you off." I sighed.

"Well, for now." I looked to him confused.

"I haven't done anything bad, dumbass." Jackson glared but rolled his eyes. He looked like a little kid having a tantrum.

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean you won't. Just know if you are let off, the tiniest thing you do wrong, it's over." It was my turn to roll my eyes.

"I meant to tell you yesterday, I'm sure you've seen that we don't have the eyebrow thing for our pack. We get a tattoo." I scrunched my eyebrows.

"Why?" Jackson laughed before going back to his work.

"Because were different." I was guessing that was a sign to leave, so I got up out of my chair.

"Hey, where are you going?" He looked up at me as I turned around to look at him again. He had that same smirk on.

"Leaving. Why?" He grinned.

"Well, I figured you could stay and talk, maybe help me with work. You're apparently as smart as me, and you can do it too. If I need help, you'll be here." I just sighed and put a hand through my hair again. I sat back down.

"Well, start speaking." I said and Jackson smiled and opened his mouth.
