Green Lights

The smell of rotten corpse was whiffed by the wind, caught by the poor noses that belonged to humans who regretted taking a stroll nearby the abandoned hospital. The police who covered half of their faces using a light mask has been suffocating to the smell an hour ago.

But one of them aren't bothered by the gruesome smell. Nakamura, a determined detective.

He brushed his hazel hair using his hand, tugging on some strands as the stress seeped in his mind.

The chief told him that the hole has been opened and it kept nagging on the back of his head. He knew that once he dived inside the hell hole, he can discover the truth behind the mass murder. But something isn't right.

Its been a while since he longed for a stick of tobacco. And that's what he did. He flicked the lighter on after pulling a cancerous stick. Lighting it up before dragging on a one long inhale.

The smoke burned but it reduced his stress, numbing him roughly on the inside. That's enough to make him take another step on the case.

"Shall we accompany you sir?" One of the lower ranked police officer asked.

Nakamura shook his head, "No need" he exhaled the gray smoke, "Just give me twenty minutes" Then, he dropped on the upper basement where the corpse are found. He caught the officer sighing in relief; he probably didn't want to come back down ever again.

The detective flicked the small flashlight on, giving a glance at the crime scene before proceeding towards the newly opened hole.

The cracks were hazardous and the supporting beams are barely ready. Obviously, everything they did was a rush. There might be a chance that he would be crushed to death down there but he didn't care nonetheless.

The green light was much more visible now that he is slowly descending using a rope. Then, he started hearing static when he hit the ground.

There was silence, yet at the same time the sound of buzzing electricity nearby. He couldn't see, or pin point the static sound. But he could find where the green light is.

The lower basement is illuminated by a single rectangular led light, a meter long that emitted green light.

The rubbles were bumpy underneath his soles and he felt uneasy on the smell of blood and rust around the room. After taking five steps forward, he scanned the hallway.

There were only one way to trudge into and that was the right path. The left path was blocked by white tiles and the detective hoped that there were no more secrets behind those walls.

He noticed how the hallway is unaffected by the fire above, yet he can still smell the tinge of burning smoke on the closed air. Nakamura moved closer to the light on the top of the room.

He wondered how electricity ran inside, now that the whole building above was burned to ash. But then, maybe the power line was only cut above. He would never know unless he would delve deeper.

A bead of sweat trickled down his neck.

There was nothing but white walls washed with green light as he walked in further down the hall. The more he stepped further, the more suffocated he felt.

Finally; when he couldn't see the hole where he came from. Nakamura spotted a metal door, slightly opened and rusted. More green light could be seen seeping through the door.

He closed in, heart beating faster than usual. Fear scratched on his throat. The atmosphere was eerie and heavy, which caused him to feel uneasy.

But there's no backing down now. He squeezed the knob of the rusted door.

"God" he whispered after slowly opening the door. It flung open without sound.

"What in the world is this...place?" He asked himself, eyes darting around like a madman. The scene before him is obscene; gory.

First, he noticed the buzzing static from the monitors around the room. Second, the scratches and dents on the walls. Third, the dried blood coating the white tiles on the floor. Lastly, the disturbing chair sitting on the middle of the room.

The detective felt the urge to throw up. The smell of rotten blood stung his nostrils along with the mix of stinking bleach that was dripping on the walls. He literally smelled death in the room.

"What the fuck happened here?" He groaned as he flashed his light around the room.

The green lights above made him feel nauseous along with the loud static as he trudged further in the room. It was no larger than ten by ten meters, half of it flushed with blood and half of it cleaned with bleach.

It took him five seconds to get on the metal chair sitting on the middle of the room. Nakamura leaned closer on the object, taking out his phone to take a picture.

The chair is rusted and strapped. It was a chair for execution or for mental people. He rubbed the edge of the chair and felt a chill down his spine.

Cold sweat started forming beads on his forehead. He lifted his hazel eyes on the other corner of the room where another metal door stood. Swallowing his fear, he trudged closer to the door.

On his way, he almost slipped on the bleach and tripped on his own two feet. It was really nerve wrecking when he felt nervous and it caused him to walk like a new born child.

The ambiance of the place is dark, cold and sinister like one of those horror movies. Even though he is a detective who dealt with murder and death, he still felt the fear when he was the one directly suing the case. Getting evidence is always the hardest part for detectives.

No matter, Nakamura still pulled onto his will and hanged on his pride.

He gripped the rusted knob and with a heavy sigh, he pushed it open.

...

"Good Morning" a cute voice rang in his ears while small hands shook him gently.

A smile crawled on Katsuki's face. He slowly opened his eyes to meet two green orbs that seem to see through his very soul. "Good morning" he greeted, lazily lifting his hand on top of his boyfriend's head.

Izuku pouted as he ruffled his green hair. "Wake up dummy" he mumbled, poking the blonde on the stomach. "Mom cooked up pancakes for breakfast, you don't want to miss that won't you?"

Katsuki smirked before nodding. ' Its not the pancakes that I'm excited about though; its because of you ' he thought.

They jumped off the bed to get ready for school.
