Chapter 17

Mikayla and Damien left for the Northern end of the island on Sunday morning. They would be staying at an exclusive resort in Speyside, where they would relax before returning to Pigeon Point on Tuesday, as they were all headed back to London on Wednesday

Similarly, Cynthia and Roger had flown to Trinidad using the airbus between the two islands. They took Sophie and Daniel, as well as Mrs. Clemons and her husband with them to show them around the bigger island. They too would return on Tuesday evening.

This meant that Hannah and Tariq had a few days to themselves. Taking the extra SUV, they packed their bags and headed on to their own adventure.

"Where are we going exactly?" Hannah complained, her eyebrows raising a bit as she asked, "Do you even know where we are going?"

Laughing slightly, Tariq replied, "Yes, I know where we're going, just relax we won't get lost, I promise."

They were on the Northern end of the island as well, on the opposite side of where Mikayla and Damien went. At the moment, Hannah and Tariq were driving through some narrow roads, with only dense and lush forest surrounding them.

"And we're going to Charlotteville," he added as they turned another sharp corner.

"That's if you don't drive off the bloody mountain and kill us first," Hannah commented.

Charlotteville was the perfect place for them to relax for the next few days. With its picturesque location, it was neatly tucked away on the golden sands of Man-o-War Bay.

Damien had suggested the area to Tariq, stating that the village had a special charisma about it that seemed to entice visitors to stay. Having briefly passed through the village the week before with Roger and Cynthia, Tariq was familiar with the drive.

The route to the village was an exciting one, with views of the stunning northeast coast of Tobago on the winding Windward Road. They were presented with an astounding sight of Charlotteville from the mountainous incline. Which is why Hannah was jumpy and wanted him to focus on the road.

Tariq softly chuckled as he shook his head and used his left hand to gently rub Hannah's knee, trying to reassure her.

"Both hands on the wheel mister!" she said before continuing, "You can touchy touchy later."

"Yes ma'am," he grinned, both his hands firmly gripping the steering wheel.

————— ▲ —————

Charlotteville was truly beautiful and now that they had more time, Tariq and Hannah could really take in the exquisiteness of the area.

The village had a golden sand shoreline that was caressed by the blue waters of Man-o-War Bay, backed by the luxuriant rainforest mountains. Tariq had rented them a lovely chalet located near the centre of Charlotteville and their cottage was just a short walk from the beach.

It was around half past two in the afternoon when Tariq told Hannah that they would be going on a small boat tour of the lovely Man-o-War Bay. As a result, he suggested that she should dress in some simple beachwear attire.

Together, they prepared a small picnic to carry, which consisted of a watermelon, tomato, and feta Salad, as well as Corn Cobettes with basil butter and simple salami sandwiches.

Hannah would not tell Tariq, but she always enjoyed being in the kitchen with him. They spent many of their Sundays cooking together and it had almost become a sort of ritual. She could not help but smile to herself as, even though they were in Tobago, he still managed to continue their Sunday tradition.

The boat ride was nothing short of wonderful. It was a medium-sized speedboat and they were the only two on the tour. Hannah found it a little odd but, before she could ask Tariq what was going on, she became too distracted by the views surrounding her.

Jameel, their tour guide, had been sharing various pieces of information over the last thirty minutes about the different areas that they explored. He was very knowledgeable, having grown up right there in Charlotteville.

Since it was their first day in the village, Tariq had suggested something simple, and the boat tour was indeed very relaxing. The water looked like something out of a dream and Hannah fought the urge to dive in. She had been lost in the beauty of the scenery around her when Jameel's voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"Welcome to Lover's Beach you two," he said.

Hannah looked at Tariq in slight confusion, who simply grinned at her in return before saying, "Surprise!"

"The beach is pink! Is this real?" she exclaimed.

She recalled Mikayla telling her about it and had seen some pictures. However, now that she was seeing it with her own two eyes, it was just unbelievable. Hannah was too fascinated and excited at the stunning colour of the sand to grumble at Tariq for surprising her. It was obvious to Hannah that this area was only accessible by boat. The beach was lined with rocks and thick trees and there was a thin stretch of pink and tan-coloured sand next to the exquisite turquoise water.

"Yes, it's real, the bright pink colour is a result of the almost red-coloured fragments of coral strewn across the sand," Jameel answered.

As they neared the shore, Tariq got out and took the large basket with their food, as well as the large tote bag that had their towels among other things. He rested the items on the shore and went back to get Hannah, holding out his hand for her to climb out of the boat.

"So, I'll come back in about two and a half hours yea?" Jameel asked then added, "That way you guys can catch the sunset on the ride back."

Tariq nodded, "Sounds perfect."

As Jameel's boat disappeared around the corner Hannah said, "I hope he doesn't forget us, it would suck to be stranded out here all night."

Tariq laughed as he spread a comforter in the shade and beckoned her to sit and join him.

"That wouldn't be too bad would it? Stuck with me on a secluded beach under the stars," he said softly as he pulled her into his arms and kissed her.

Hannah sighed softly as she went into his embrace. They kissed passionately, getting lost in each other. As they paused to catch their breath, she pulled off his vest so her hands were running over his bare shoulders. Simultaneously, Tariq had pulled off her cover-up before he resumed kissing her.

"I want you," Tariq said, while the sound of the waves could be heard crashing around them.

His hands moved over her smooth skin which had gotten a nice tan since they had been in Tobago. Similarly, his own skin had turned into a deep bronze colour that she had envied, wishing that she could have tanned to such a shade as well.

With a smile, he slowly moved his fingers to pull on the strings of her black bikini top, revealing her full breasts to the ocean breeze. His mouth moved from one nipple to the other and, once he decided that he had had enough, he moved to remove the strings of her bikini bottom, wanting to touch her.

He moved her to lay down on the blanket before appreciating the view of the thin trimmed landing strip on her mound for a moment, then stroked up the outside of her legs. Tariq then leaned in to give Hannah the attention she so desperately needed. Her clit was pink and swollen and he slipped his tongue over it and down between her slit, sending shivers up her spine. He kept working his tongue slowly, gradually deeper and she lifted up against him to relieve some of the pressure that was building up.

Using a finger to feel her heat, he groaned softly as her muscles started to contract around him. Feeling her legs begin to shake, Tariq stopped what he was doing, not wanting her to orgasm just yet. Hannah moved his face up to kiss him, tasting herself on him. He kicked off his surfer shorts before pinning her back onto the ground. His hands cupped her firm ass while he pressed his hard length against her.

She looked up at him, her gaze filled with raw intensity, "Fuck me now."

"Ever the impatient one," he grinned, while moving to comply.

He teased her wet entrance with the tip of his erection, brushing lightly as she arched her back and spread her legs wider, trying to catch him in her slippery folds. Slowly, he just gave her the very tip, letting it sit right at the opening, watching her face shift, her desires being expressed openly.

Tariq leaned down and nuzzled her breasts, taking a nipple in his mouth and sucking hard once more. He still kept her pressed down against the sand.

Hannah could feel the uneven contours of the ground underneath her, the indentations made by her squirming. She was breathing harder now, moaning softly and grinding up against him, trying to move slightly to have him enter her further.

Groaning softly, he gave her a tiny bit more, slowly teasing her until he was the one who couldn't take it anymore and pushed all the way to the hilt. She gasped at the suddenness of being filled and went over the edge into her orgasm, muscles contracting, face flushed, her moans loud against the crashing waves on the shore. Tariq held Hannah tightly and rode her orgasm out with her, the feel of her causing his own release.

As they laid there in each other's arms, a boat suddenly came around the corner, the occupants whistled out at their nakedness and sent them thumbs up. Laughing together, they went to take a refreshing dip in the beautiful water.

After a while, they redressed in their swimwear and settled back down on the beach. Tariq laid out the food and they ate in relative silence, feeding each other while sipping on chilled wine. Once they had finished eating, Tariq packed back the basket and discreetly took out a small jewellery box which he had hidden at his side.

Laying down with Hannah, they enjoyed the peace and quiet of the beach. The serenity enveloped them. She sighed softly as she snuggled into Tariq's embrace, everything felt so perfect. A part of her never wanted to leave. This moment right here, between the both of them, she knew that she would remember forever.

"I have another surprise for you," he suddenly said.

Sitting up to look at him she asked, "I hope that it's super ultra-amazing because I don't think you can top this day.

Smiling, Tariq also sat up, now facing her. He pulled the small white box from behind him, causing Hannah's eyes to open wide.

"Open it," he urged.

Taking the box with shaking fingers, Hannah had no idea what could be inside. For a split second, she thought that he might have been proposing, but she knew that he would have gone down on his knees. As well as the fact that she was not ready for such a commitment, even if the thought did not completely scare her.

It was in that moment that Hannah realised that she was falling in love Tariq. She had not thought about marriage since Oscar, and even back then it had just been a silly fantasy that she had played with in her head.

Being in Tobago with Tariq made her realise that she could no longer hide from her growing emotions. She felt so complete when she was around him and, somewhere along the way, she had begun to fall in love with him.

Her heart began to race as the realisation hit her. Among various reasons, what she loved the most about him was the way in which he handled her witty comments. As well as the way he handled her sometimes unreasonable mood swings.

Hannah loved that Tariq was not intimidated by her at all, and stood up to her while not talking down to her. Being the strong and fierce woman that she was, she needed a man who could keep up with her and keep her on her toes. He had proven to be such a man and so much more.

Looking up at him, she saw him quietly observing her. His eyes were so full of love, his face slightly anxious as he waited for her to open the box. Deciding to take a leap of faith, she took a deep breath before speaking. Instead of denying her emotions like she would have in the past, she embraced them. The words all put quickly rushed out of her mouth before she lost the courage.

"I think I'm falling in love with you Tariq," Hannah said, her blue eyes starting to water.

Tariq sat there dumbfounded. A part of him wondered if he had fallen asleep and he was experiencing one of his usual dreams. Visions where Hannah would profess her love to him and he to her, dreams that involved them getting married and having children.

He loved her so much as she was everything that he could have ever wanted in a woman. Momentarily lost in his thoughts, the silence caused her to bite her bottom lip, wondering why he was not saying anything.

"Hannah..." he said, when he found his voice.

"I'm scared..." she interjected.

Pulling her into his arms, he whispered against her lips, his eyes never leaving hers, "Don't be afraid, I'll be right there to catch you."

Her lips trembled, "I've never felt like this before."

"You must know by now that I love you, right?" Tariq asked with a small smile.

Sniffling slightly, she choked on a laugh while nodding, "I suspected as much, all you were missing was a sign."

"I wanted to write it in the sky, but Mikayla told me to hold out until you were sure of your own feelings," he replied seriously.

"Of course, Miks would know my own feelings before me!" she grumbled with a smile while resting her forehead against his then said, "Say it again..."

"I love you Hannah," Tariq's voice washed over her as he continued, "You have no idea how long I wanted to say those words out loud. But I didn't dare as I did not want to make you feel pressured."

She closed her eyes and allowed his words to stroke her skin the way the waves were right at this moment caressing over the pink sands of the shore.

"Look at me," he softly whispered.

Opening her eyes slowly, her gaze met his, the intensity that she saw there stole what was left of her breath.

"I think I may have loved you since that night at the club, believe it or not. You could have imagined my shock when I arrived at Damien's penthouse to find that Mikayla's best friend was you!" he brought her free hand to his lips and kissed her fingers as he went on to say, "I love your wit and that sharp tongue of yours, not to mention that go-get-it attitude that you have. I love you so much Hannah, you belong with me."

Biting her lips, she allowed his words to sink in, as she continued to gaze into his eyes. Her mouth may have said that she was falling for him, but her eyes would have told him that her feelings were much deeper. Hannah could not help but lean into him. Being with him felt so right, and deep down, she knew that her heart would be safe with him. They sat in silence for a while, just enjoying the feel of being in each other's arms.

"You haven't opened your gift yet," Tariq suddenly said, the eagerness in his voice evident.

Hannah's eyes snapped open and she looked down at the white box that was still tightly clutched in her hand. With slow movements, her fingers opened the lid, and once again her breath caught in her throat.

Staring back at her was a pink and white diamond petit cross pendant set in rose and white gold attached to a rose gold chain. Her index finger gently traced the pendant that had twenty-four light pink gems which enhanced the five white diamonds.

"These diamonds are beautiful, the pendant itself is simply gorgeous. Thank you so much!" she whispered.

"The pink stones are not diamonds," he said with a smile, happy that she liked his gift.

"No?" she asked a bit confused, as her knowledge of pink stones was fairly limited.

Taking the necklace out, "They are Padparadscha sapphires," he said as he showed her.

"Platypus what?" Hannah chuckled softly.

Tariq put necklace on her and held her hand as he joined in her joke, "Pad-para-dscha, and I found a few on an excavation in Madagascar a few years ago. It's a very rare and precious gem, I was saving them for the love of my life."

Hannah swallowed a lump in her throat, not knowing what to say.

"Do I get extra points for cutting the gems myself?" he asked with a grin, breaking the silence.

Lunging at him, she hugged him tightly, her face buried in his neck, "I do not deserve you."

Holding her tightly to him he whispered in return, "You deserve more than you know, I'll do my best to show you."

They cuddled on the beach some more, idly chatting before it was time to leave. Jameel came back as promised to pick them up, and the sunset that evening was simply magical.

The rest of their stay in Charlotteville was simply amazing. Hannah could not remember being happier, and she would cherish the memories that she made with Tariq.

————— ▲ —————

On the plane ride back to London, Hannah and Mikayla were huddled up together, talking amongst themselves, while Tariq and Damien were up front with the other couples.

"I told Tariq," Hannah said softly as she fingered her new necklace.

Mikayla intently looked at her as she asked, "Told him what exactly."

"Are you really going to make me say it Miks?" she complained.

Nodding, she replied, "Yes Hannah, the more you vocalise your thoughts and feelings, the easier it will become to say them over and over."

"Fine!" Hannah grumbled as she went onto say, "I told Tariq that I'm falling in love with him."

Mikayla smiled brightly, "I'm so proud of you! Although you and I both know that your ass is lying, you aren't falling Hannah. You're already laying in the ditch and can't get up"

Mumbling she said, "Yea yea, well baby steps ok?! Geez!"

"I'm just teasing, baby steps indeed. I know that Tariq loves you very much," Mikayla said as she eyed Hannah's necklace with a knowing smile.

Blushing a little, "Yea, he told me that he loves me." Pausing for a moment Hannah asked, "Did Tariq really want to write it in the sky?"

Scoffing, Mikayla playfully rolled her eyes, "Yes he did! Damien was all for it too! Damn idiots, I'm glad that he was able to tell you, he's been holding it in for a while. I also know that your little declaration meant the world to him. I can't tell you how proud I am of you for not running away from your feelings."

"Thanks for ensuring that I didn't mess this up," Hannah leaned into her.

"Always, you kicked my ass where Damien was concerned, it's only fair that I returned the favour. You deserve to be happy," Mikayla said, as she leaned back into her best friend.
