Something with Love
Bakugou had to get rid of Kirishima. He wanted to quickly go to his own room to check it out. Suzuki Touru. He was sure that he had seen her name on the list. Maybe he was wrong. Suzuki was a common name. But they only parted ways in the hallway of the fourth floor. Kirishima waved goodbye and went to his own room, which happened to be right next to Bakugou's. The blonde boy didn't notice the critical look of the redhead who had stopped at his door and watched as Bakugou clumsily fiddled with the keys before opening his door.
Bakugou stormed into his room and slammed the door behind him. The parchment was right where he left it that night. He sat down and searched line by line for the name.
Suzuki Touru...
Suzuki Touru!
He had found her. Her name stood beside that of Kato Takahashi, relatively high up and written with the shimmering ink.
Now what? Bakugou frowned. He already knew that there were real people on the list, since his own stood on it.
He pulled out his laptop and just decided to google this woman and quickly found some search results. Her tour dates were displayed and several event sites offered her tickets for sale. There was a small Wikipedia entry that wasn't very interesting. She didn't seem to be too well known because the article consisted of nothing more than a short description of her person, a picture and a list of her titles.
Sighing, he kept looking. Then he found another article, which was more like a gossip column. Bored, Bakugou read about her escapades until he suddenly paused. He straightened up and read the sentence for the second time.
"It must have been love at first sight, at least her boyfriend Kato Takahashi said."
Kato Takahashi. They were a couple!
Bakugou frowned. He didn't want to jump to conclusions, so he decided to check the other names on the list.
It was a difficult and tedious job. Most of the people on the list were normal people and he was just a normal student who had no access to special databases. From time to time there were single articles when the people were in sports clubs or similar. But in fact, Facebook, this aging social media platform, was the best source of information.
Name by name, Bakugou searched the Internet. He found far from every name, but those he found ... were all together. He had the feeling of plunging into tragically beautiful love stories, the phrase "love at first sight" appeared again and again. The people really wrote this crap on their timeline.
Then Bakugou came to Kirishima's name and his own, which of course he skipped. But from there it went downhill. He found no more couples in love, none of these people had a relationship. He found a case of suicide and finally stopped.
For some reason, the pairs of names written with the shimmering ink all seemed happily in love. The pairs of names in the matt ink were not, some did not even seem to know each other.
Deep in thought, Bakugou read the list again. As strange as it sounded, this list had something to do with love. Kirishima's name was written in shimmering script ... and it stood next to his ... was Kirishima in love with him?
The thought struck Bakugou like a blow. It was all just a theory in his head and yet it seemed to make sense in a curious way. Kirishima had approached him from day one, smiled, invited him over and over again, and seemed depressed every time he refused the invitations.
A dull feeling spread to his stomach. Had he hurt him with his behavior? But still, Bakugou's own name was written in matt ink. Not without reason, as he found. After all, he was not in love with Kirishima. Damn, how could he be? Did he even like guys? Bakugou was surprised to notice that he didn't consider the idea absurd. Still, how would he know? He had never been in love and never let anyone get close enough. And if he was honest, he hardly knew anything about his red-haired next door neighbor.
Still, he'd say Kirishima was a friend. Someone who was constantly present and whose presence he actually found pleasant.
The ash blonde's room was dead silent, except for the clack of the ballpoint pen, which he hit absently against the edge of his table. He sat stiffly on his chair, just trying to put his thoughts in order.
A knock on the door ripped him from his thoughts. He quickly pushed the parchment under a notepad before getting up. Quickly, he went to the door and opened it. In the doorway stood Kirishima, how could it be otherwise?
The redhead grinned at him. "Hey Bakugou, can I come in?"
Bakugou shrugged his shoulders and couldn't help but notice the short glow in Kirishima's eyes. Now that he had the theory that Kirishima might have had a crush on him, he watched him more closely. But how could he distinguish an infatuation from his otherwise friendly nature?
The redhead had been watching Bakugou all day. He felt like something was wrong but didn't know how to address the blonde. An expression of concern lay on his face as he looked at Bakugou, who groaningly threw himself back into his desk chair.
"What's the matter?" hummed the explosive blonde, who of course immediately noticed Kirishima's staring gaze.
He laughed nervously and scratched the back of the head in embarrassment. "You know ... I actually wanted to ask you that. You were acting strange today and it seems like you hardly slept last night."
Bakugou blinked in surprise. The obviously worried tone touched him strangely. Nevertheless, he could hardly tell Kirishima about the list after what his research had revealed.
So he just shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah, I hardly slept at all."
"Why not?"
Bakugou kept silent.
Kirishima smiled softly at him. He understood that Bakugou didn't want to talk about it.
"And what's the deal with your outburst because of the concert?" he added anyway.
The blonde boy looked a little distressed. He probably hadn't been very inconspicuous. But then he came to a decision.
"You know, Kiri, maybe I'll come to the concert after all. I actually do know this Suzuki."
