Giving In

Bakugou sighed into the kiss and his thoughts came to a complete standstill. Kirishima's lips felt warm and soft. Like their first kiss, it felt like their lips fit together perfectly. Bakugou buried one hand in the other's red hair and pulled him closer. He felt Kirishima smile against his lips before he began to carefully nibble on his lower lip. Instinctively, Bakugou opened his mouth and felt Kirishima's tongue slide through the gap between his lips. The blonde sighed again at the new feeling.

The kiss was long, deep and intense. When Kirishima finally pulled away, breathing heavily, Bakugou's eyes remained closed for a moment. A little dazed, he finally opened them and saw Kirishima's grinning face. A small chuckle escaped the redhead's lips when he saw his transfixed gaze.

Gradually the blonde returned to himself. But this time he wasn't overwhelmed by panic, instead a strong feeling of certainty came over him. He loved him. Kirishima. It may seem strange, because until a few days ago, he had only thought of him as a friend. Had it really needed Cupid's list to make it clear to him that there was more? Because he hadn't just fallen in love with him in the last few days, it had been smouldering beneath the surface all along and had now erupted like a force of nature. He had given in.

"Fuck, I love you," it burst out of him. He placed another short kiss on Kirishima's lips.

Kirishima laughed surprised but happy. "You only just realised? When you just talked about my big eyes," he teased him.

"Tch." That's all Bakugou replied. Absent mindedly he looked to the desk, where the sheet of parchment lay. He leaned forward and reached for it. He tilted it a little to see the shine of the ink. He half expected his own name to shimmer. After all, he had the theory that those names in the shimmering ink belonged to people who were under Cupid's spell and thus in love. But his name did not shimmer. He frowned. He loved this redheaded idiot.

He felt Kirishima's attentive gaze focused on him. "Is something wrong, Baku?"

Bakugou showed him the parchment and tilted it slightly to show him the shimmering writing.

"Oh!" Kirishima took the parchment from him and examined it himself. "Only the upper half shimmers. Why?" He looked at the blonde questioningly.

"At first I thought all those in love were written in the shimmering ink."

"And what's wrong with this theory?"

"Look between which two names the ink changes." Bakugou pointed to their two names.

Kirishima frowned. "Your name doesn't shimmer at all." The redhead swallowed and tried to hide his disappointment.

"Don't look like that, Kiri. It only means that my theory is wrong", he said and pressed another small kiss onto his lips. Kirishima's expression brightened immediately and his disappointed look was replaced with his typical grin.

"What about the others on that list?"

Bakugou sighed, "I couldn't find all the names, of course, but I could find some. Apparently, the upper half are happy together, while the other half ... well they don't have relationships. Some don't even seem to know each other."

Kirishima stroked the parchment, lost in thought. "I have one question," he finally said.

The blonde looked at him waiting. "What is it?" he finally asked when the redhead didn't continue.

Kirishima looked up. "How old is this list?"

"What do you mean?"

"As I said, I fell in love with you on the first day," he looked aside, embarrassed, and a slight dusting of red covered his cheeks. "You could say it was love at first sight."

Love at first sight.

Those were the words that Bakugou came across again and again during his research. He frowned. The school year was almost over, which means that by now three quarters of a year had passed.

"I see what you mean. If you've been under, well, Cupid's spell for so long," Bakugou spat out the cheesy term, "that would mean the list is a little older. And since there's a sharp distinction between couples and non-couples, we can be sure that the guy proceeded chronologically."

Kirishima nodded. "I don't know if that'll help, but do you happen to know when the others got together?"

Bakugou shook his head. He hadn't been focused on that in his research. "But it's also hard to tell, because only a few people would have come together when they first fell in love."

"I guess you're right." Kirishima smiled.

Bakugou looked at the redhead and felt a little smile on his lips as well. "Since the first day, hm?" His voice had a teasing undertone, but he was honestly curious.

Again, Kirishima blushed a little. He cleared his throat in embarrassment. "I found you attractive from the first moment, but remember on the first day when we had to do the quirk apprehension tests? When we were allowed to use our quirks for the first time?" Kirishima looked up and looked into Bakugou's red eyes. The blonde nodded slightly as he remembered. "You threw the ball with an explosion and well ... of course I was like everyone else, overwhelmed by your strong quirk, but the passion and fighting spirit in your eyes was why I fell in love with you immediately. You were so strong ... so manly." Kirishima became more and more quiet and his cheeks had become a fiery red.

Bakugou grinned, but there was also a slight redness on his cheeks as he leaned forward a bit. "The same goes for you," he whispered against Kirishima's lips before kissing him again.
