CHAPTER 5 - IT'S PART OF THE SYLABBUS
DRASHELLE'S POV
TO-DO LIST
#StalkKevin
#Act normal instead of listening to the voice in my head
# Try focusing in class
My thoughts were interrupted when a teacher walked in wearing long golden sleeves. She carried a lot of fat books that could be used as excellent devices for weightlifting.
"My name is Amberisha and I am your social teacher." She grinned.
Maybe she doesn't like her job anymore. The smile felt like it was plastered on her face. I looked around to see Urazion talking to his hair and trying to fix it as it repeatedly fell on his face. ' You failed geometry, didn't you?' I heard him mumble to his bangs.
"I am not going to waste time in introductions as time is the greatest element of all time and henceforth, we shall begin about the history of superstitions. We will start with this because I want you all to get interested in this subject first and then memorize all the dates needed." She turned towards the board and wrote a few words which I had no idea about.
I keep my Chapstick on me like it's a Glock and moisturized my lips in a few seconds.
Of course, where are you my brain?
Why did you summon me?
I need answers to the questions written on the board. Dig and get me some answers.
Do you mean to ask me why you never learn anything on a daily basis?
I need answers to the questions written! Why did people feel inclined to superstitions in the ancient days?
Well, they were probably so dumb, just like you. Do you remember that one time when you tried to act like bugs bunny and bit a carrot directly instead of cutting it? Remember how you cried like a baby in front of your mommy?
It is perfectly normal to talk to myself, right? Right?
I sometimes do not understand my brain.
"You."
I felt like someone grabbed me and drained the wetness from my throat. Hearing someone stand, my eyes snapped in Jason's direction. I relaxed as the whole class averted their eyes to him, equally tensed as he was. Phew, I thought she was going to ask me questions.
Jason, an athlete, a gold medalist, son of the richest human in town, tall like a tower, the nerdy one but who doesn't admit it, a scary person when angry, the one who wins every year in the dumb charades competition , the guy my mom compares me to, stood up very gracefully and took his hands out of his pocket.
"What is the main reason that binds us all to magic?" she asked and waited for Jason to answer, admiring the gold rings she was wearing on every finger.
"Magic is believing that can do that, you can make anything happen. It will find those with pure hearts, even when all seems lost. Imaginations, something that runs wild in us, produces the weird dreams and those imaginations are the flying magic carpets that always bind us to magic."
Everyone clapped and cheered as his words were out and the teacher seemed impressed too. I personally didn't really feel anything because this was really normal. He seemed to know every answer to any question and I have grown used to this.
But, she wasn't done yet. "Excellent, Jason. You may be seated." She tapped her fingers on the table and looked at us.
"The one with the long hair. What's your name?"
"Urazion, ma'am," he croaked.
"So, Urazion, tell me the importance of learning this topic." She waited for his reply while he gulped and cleared his throat.
He gulped, cleared his throat, and said, "It's part of the syllabus."
Despite the heavy, scary atmosphere, several people snorted into their sleeves.
"Wow. Excellent. I knew there would be people like you in this class," Amberisha said dryly. "Now, who's going to answer my next question?"
I raised my hand automatically. Leaving a good impression is important for me. I crave academic validation. Don't ask why — I'm just built this way.
"Not you, Miss Drashelle. I know you are aware of the answer already." I gave her a confused look and then she waved her hand like she was dismissing me. "Your scores are excellent. I was looking through everyone's academic performance and I would like to see other students speak up more in class instead."
Screaming internally, I tried to act as nonchalant as possible.
This is what Infinite aura feels like.
After a long and tiring session, it finally got over. I pressed two fingers on my neck to check if my pulse was normal. Urazion looked like he had seen a ghost and was crossing his arms over his chest and looking sideways. Jason kept cursing words of which I shall not repeat.
I didn't realize how hungry I was until I felt a hot pizza aroma dash into my nose. Almost everyone was sick of the previous session and didn't even bother to close their books. Everyone opened up their lunch packs and started discussing.
I could hear a lot of chatter about our social teacher such as "I feel sorry for her husband " and " she's scarier than my mom " and " I am going to dress up like her for Halloween."
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted when I got a fist bump on my shoulder. I didn't even notice Kashelle in front of me. She was already munching on her nuggets when I snatched one from her.
"You could have just asked politely. Please is a magic word. It's not like I would tell yes anyway, but still." She leaned on the chair and spread her legs; moving it like a scissor.
"Oh please, as if you have never done that to me. I saw you raiding chocolates from my fridge. By the way, I was just wondering, do you know anything about Kevin?"
"So, this is the 101st boy you had your eye on this week, huh?" She looked at me with suspicious eyes and raised an eyebrow. It couldn't be a three-digit number, could it?
Ughhh, I wish I knew how to raise one eyebrow at a time.
"May I ask why you wish to know about him?" She asked, almost getting choked by trying to swallow her food and barely containing her laughter.
"Nope, wish not granted."

LET'S GO SHOPPING!
No, I am kidding, am broke and lazy.
My favorite part in writing this chapter was writing the To-Do List. The last thing to do was of course the hardest.
ʅ(́ ◡◝)ʃ
Looks like Drashelle has her eyes set on Kevin.
Let's see how it goes! ♥
Also, I thought you guys might wanna know Drashelle's mother in the next chapter. After all, don't all teenagers go through those "Teenage problems?"
Sometimes, I think all mothers have a universal code that we aren't aware of.
(╥﹏╥) Noshi
Btw, seriously isn't there something else other than vote, comment, and share?
They seem so boring ʕ¯ᴥ¯ʔ
