New Diary Entries, Victoria's Secrets and Elijah

Chapter Eleven

Elena’s P.O.V

Dear Diary,

So I bought a new diary. I haven’t really written in one since I died and became a vampire. So here it goes.

Webb, Owen, Shania, and her two girls should be arriving today. We should have Bonnie back by tomorrow morning. We were going to perform the resurrection at midnight, when the veil between the living world and the dead world was at its thinnest.

Bonnie would be alive again, and she, Jeremy and Faith would be a real family. I’d give them money to buy their own little house in Mystic Falls, and Faith could start pre-school, Bonnie could work on her spells and stuff, and Jeremy could start school at the local community college as well as working part time at the Grill.

Speaking of starting college, I decided that I was going to get my college education at the local college as well. Jeremy and I would start in the same year. Caroline and Tyler are going to do the same thing, and Stefan told me he was thinking about it too.

Today is Stefan’s first day of teaching Alex how to control his urges, and how to feed on animals instead of humans. I knew I was being hypocritical making Alex go vegetarian when I was a complete carnivore, ripping into necks and tasting human blood and feeling the life drain out of someone, slowly, until you stop, just before the heart gives out, and the body shuts down. I was slightly worried about Stefan, though. Alex was new. He was volatile, unpredictable and worst of all, pissed. He was angry at being a vampire. And he didn’t even blame me anymore. He was upset that he couldn’t go home, that his parents couldn’t visit him, that he had to take a sick leave from work. He was angry, and an angry vampire is probably stronger than a century old vampire.

But I have faith in Stefan. While he’s training Alex, Caroline, Rose, Nora and Cassie are taking me shopping. To get over Damon apparently. Like I need to. I turned off my emotions towards him, and that was it. I don’t care if he spent a year following me around with Caroline, trying to find me. I don’t care that he apparently went through hell because he blamed himself for my disappearance. I don’t care that he felt guilty at me becoming a vampire. I don’t care about him anymore.

I suppose here would be a good place to leave this entry. I’m sorry if this really sucked, Diary. I guess I’m just not used to writing all my feelings down instead of bottling them up.

Much Love,

Elena.

Stefan’s P.O.V

Dear Journal,

Tutoring Alex had proved harder than I had thought. It wasn’t like tutoring Caroline or Rose on how to be a ‘vegetarian’ vampire and adopt the animal diet. Alex was more difficult. He was furious at the fact he was now a vampire. He was angry that Elena was making all these decisions for him. He was pissed that he had to stay under the same roof as Damon. He was just livid. And that made it harder to teach.

Caroline and Rose had adapted very quickly to the animal diet, except with the odd complaint about having to remove rabbit fur from their teeth. Alex pretty much refused to eat the squirrel I had caught him. So now he was starving, and locked up again in the basement. Elena would be disappointed with me. She’d put her faith in me and I was letting her down.

And yet, despite my fear of telling Elena that I was failing her, I also couldn’t wait to see her again. I couldn’t sleep last night, because I couldn’t get rid of the feeling of her lips on mine from my mind. I found myself not caring whether Elena didn’t to be with me for fear of people seeing me as her rebound. I just wanted to be with her. I didn’t care how we got together, I just want to be with her.

So after her shopping trip with the girls today and before Damon’s stupid party he’s throwing, I’m going to make her mine again.

“Dear Diary, a chipmunk asked me my name today, I told him it was Joe. That lie will haunt me forever.”

I looked up and rolled my eyes at Damon.

“What do you want, Damon?” I asked, closing my journal, and putting my pen back on my desk.

“We need to talk about Elena-”

“You broke her heart, Damon-” I cut him off, and in turn, he did the same.

“You told me too!”

“No, I said back off her for a little while, not tear out her heart, and stamp on it! Why would you tell her you just wanted to fool around with her? What’s wrong with you?” I snapped at him.

“I didn’t think it through all the way, okay, Stefan! I didn’t think about the consequences.”

“You never think about the consequences, Damon, and someone always gets hurt! You’ve really lost her this time, Damon.”

“So what?” Damon glared at me, disgust clearly showing on his face as he continued. “You figure you’re going to take your next shot at her. Well do it, brother. But you’ll mess it up. It’s what we do, and when you do mess up, I’ll be there for her, as a friend, a boyfriend, a lover…whatever she needs me to be.” With that Damon stormed out the room, and I sighed, picking up my pen and continued writing.

Damon and I will never get back our sense of brotherhood. There will probably never be anything but forced toleration in our relationship. Despite Elena being mad at him now, she’ll forgive him one day and they’ll at least be friends. She won’t want him to leave her side, despite all the things he’s done to hurt her, and I won’t complain, because I’m afraid that if we argue, she’ll leave me for Damon.

And despite my deepest insecurities, I know that after what Damon has done, Elena won’t go back to him, at least not for a long time. And maybe by then her feelings for me would have grown to be stronger than her lingering feelings for Damon, and she’d stay with me.

One can only dream.

Stefan.

Elena’s P.O.V

“What do you think of this?” I asked, holding up the red lacy nightgown.

“It’s great if desperate housewife is the look you were going for!” Caroline said, running her thumb over a black silk bra.

“I think I give up! What am I doing anyway? Looking for underwear to seduce Stefan Salvatore with his ex-girlfriend! I’ve sunk to new lows.” I sigh dramatically, slumping onto one of the benches in the store.

“Considering I was the one who suggested this, I think I’m cool with it. Anyway, I’m done with relationships.” Rose said, looking in the pyjama section.

I smiled at her, to which she winked back, and I knew we were cool. I got out of my seat, and moved to start my search again. I picked up a leopard print bra, grinning down at it.

“What about this?” I asked, holding it up so Rose, and Cassie could see it as well. Caroline and Nora eyed it, and exchanged a look.

“You do realise that Stefan eats animals right?” Nora questioned, raising an eyebrow.

“I know. Maybe I wanted to look good enough to eat.” I winked at her. Nora and Caroline laughed. Cassie rolled her eyes at me. Rose, finding a pair of purple silk pyjamas in her size, moved back towards us, and plopped herself down in the seat next to Nora.

“Elena, trust me, you could wear a brown paper sack and Stefan would still eagerly rip it off your body.” Caroline said, smiling up at me.

“She’s right. And just so you know, Elena, you are in for a treat.” Rose grinned mischievously at me, making me confused.

“What are you talking about?”

“You’re a vampire now,” Rose said, almost whispering when she said ‘vampire’, then continuing in slightly more normal volume. “Sex is so much better, and vampire sex with Stefan is the best.”

“Well as far as I can remember, human sex with Stefan was pretty good.” I said, flipping my hair to one side, finding the matching panties to the leopard print bra. I put them down in my basket, along with a black lace night gown.

“Elena, trust me, vampire sex with Stefan is going to blow your mind. He does this amazing thing with his hands that-” Rose enthused, smirking as she spoke.

“I think we’ll leave that as a surprise for Elena, don’t you think, Rose?” Caroline cut her off. I was laughing, Nora was in stitches, and Cassie was practically rolling around the floor, giggling her pretty red head off. “I don’t want to know what Stefan does with his hands. I’m not sure I can ever look at him in the same way ever again.”

Caroline’s disgusted face made me laugh even harder.

“Well, I’ll be sure to tell you how it goes then.” I wink at her, and in return she picks up a thong and chucks it at my head, but thanks to my brilliant vampire reflexes I ducked before they could hit their target. Picking them up, and placing them back onto the shelf, I continue to look around the store.

“No one wants to know the details, Elena. Not even us.” Cassie choked out, still recovering from her giggling fit.

“Cassie, you are the most perverted person that I know! And you don’t want every sordid detail of my possible rendezvous with the youngest Salvatore brother? I am shocked!” I fake gasp, picking up a blue satin bra with a lace bust, and matching briefs.

“So when are you going to put this plan into action?” Nora asked, leaning forward in her seat, seeming interested.

“Friday, after Mayor Lockwood’s birthday party.”

“What is your plan, sweet Elena?” His voice sent shivers up my spine, but I ignored them, spinning on my heel, with a fixed glare. As usual, his get-up was fully black clothing, with the black leather jacket and black combat boots.

“This place is called Victoria’s Secret. Not Victor’s Secret, Damon. So do me a favour, and leave. I’m trying to have a peaceful morning, before I have to go resurrect my best friend, after you allowed her to kill herself.” I snapped. Yet my anger didn’t seemed to faze him at all.

“I was walking around town, and spotted you in here. Just came in for some polite conversation. That’s all,” Damon replied, raising his hands to protest his innocence, but his eyes and smirk confirmed that he wasn’t in fact here for polite conversation. He was here to stir up trouble.

“So what are your big plans?”

“That’s for us to know, and for you to…dot, dot, dot…” I smirked, moving to the check-out, feeling him ghosting my steps. I placed my basket on the counter, smiling tensely at the check-out girl, who was eyeing Damon, and seeming to like what she saw.

“That’s my line.” His voice said.

“I remember. I love how I can say that now and mean it.” I turned my head and smiled at him.

“That’ll be sixty-seven dollars, Miss.” The girl said, but she wasn’t looking at me. I handed her the cash, letting her keep the change, but as I went to turn away, I noticed Damon giving the girl his flirty eyes, and the poor girl was falling for it.

Now, would I be a kind citizen if I let her eventually get eaten? No. So I did what anyone would do. I intervened.

“What’s your name?” I asked her, ignoring Damon.

“Tori. Tori Williams.” She answered. She didn’t look any older than Jeremy, so she was most likely still in school.

“Hi, Tori. I’m Elena-”

“Elena Gilbert. I know. Everyone in town knows who you are. Being Mystic Falls’ Sweetheart and all.” Tori smiled, sheepishly at me. I grinned.

“Well, Tori, as a fellow female, I think its my duty to let you know that the guy behind me…the one who keeps giving you the flirty face that is incredibly difficult to resist…he’s married. And has three kids, all under the age of five. His wife is good friends with the principle of your school. Just bear that in mind, ‘kay?”

Tanya…Toni…Tori looked horrified, and looked at Damon with disgust. I turned around, walking to the exit, knowing he was following me, trying desperately to stop myself from bursting out in hysterical laughter. I could tell Damon was pissed, but it didn’t bother me.

I caught up with the girls, and they all looked furious at Damon, except Cassie, who looked like she was trying not to grin at my antics.

“Married, am I? Three kids all under the age of five? What was that?” Damon seethed, twirling me around to face him. I grinned at him, and moved so close to him, our bodies were barely a centimetre apart.

“First of all, she is still in high school. Second of all, you were going to make a meal out of her. Third, I just don’t like you, and making sure you don’t have any fun at all is going to become my new hobby. Consider the people of Mystic Falls off-limits, because I’ll be watching you. Every where you go, everything you do, I’ll know about it. So watch your back, Salvatore, because if you slip up, you’ll find a stake being stabbed into it,” I started off in a normal voice, but ended in a whisper, speaking right into his ear, like it made a difference. I smirked at him, moving away, and waved once. “Come on, girls, we should get back. I’m feeling a bit peckish. Have fun, Damon.”

I looped my arms through Caroline and Nora’s arms, and Cassie was on one end, and Rose on the other.

Verbally beating Damon down felt like a small victory to me. And I hoped I’d get a few moments to properly savour it.

Third Person’s P.O.V

Daniel Webb knocked on the large, wooden door to the big, white house that an old friend had moved into recently. He could feel more than one presence inside, and he knew that his friend and fellow warlock, Owen, could feel them too.

He counted to five in his head, knowing that was how long she normally took to answer the door.

One…Two…Three…Four…Five…

As suspected, the door swung open, and there in all her dark goddess glory stood Elena Gilbert, who immediately beamed at him and his companion. He took a moment to look at her, to see if he could spot any changes, but he knew he wouldn’t. He hoped, but his hopes were always dashed. He always felt that this girl had to pure of a soul to be a vampire, and hoped that his ancestors thought that too. He knew of the magic they still held, and what they could do with it. Well, in an hour, Webb would find out what his ancestors could do with their magic when they had the mind or inclination to use it.

Elena flung herself at her older friend, gripping him slightly tighter than his body was comfortable with. Once she heard the second click of his bones, she let go, with an apologetic smile plastered on her face, as she moved onto Owen.

“Ready to raise the dead?” She asked the two men.

“Are Shania, Delia and Susan here already?” Owen asked.

“Yes, they’re sitting uncomfortably in my living room on the very edges of their seats.” She replied, rolling her eyes. Elena hated Shania and her family, but if they owed her a favour, she was going to collect.

Webb smiled at Elena, after his eyes had zoned in on one change.

“Come to your senses?” He asked.

“Sort of. Alex died.” Elena answered, averting her eyes.

“What happened?” Webb asked tiredly. He knew it was going to end this way, and he knew Elena would be hurting, even if she didn’t love him.

“Damon Salvatore turned him into a vampire. He finished the transition, but now he’s refusing to eat anything. And it turns out that Elijah compelled him to love me in the first place.”

“You said on the phone that you got your memories back. Do you remember everything or just the stuff before you were turned?” Webb questioned.

Elena furrowed her brow.

“What are you talking about?”

“What I’m saying is…your human memories aren’t the only ones that have been stolen from you.” Webb said.

“Stolen?” Elena question. She felt confused, and she didn’t like what Webb was getting at. “Stolen by who?”

“Elijah, of course.”

Damon’s P.O.V

“Elena!” The newborn douche yelled from the basement. “Elena!”

I rolled my eyes, and zipped down to the basement, to see what the moron wanted. I put my face right near the little barred window, and Alex’s face immediately shot up, his arm reaching through to try and grab me. I stumbled back a little bit, and laughed at him.

“Elena isn’t here, moron. What do you want?”

“I need Elena. Elena needs to be here,” He rambled. “I keep seeing things.”

“Seeing what?”

“She didn’t want to do them, but she did.”

“Who didn’t want to do what? Come on, Newbie, now would be the time to start using the few brain cells you possess!” I urged him.

“Elena. He got her to do things, compelled her to do them. Like to forget her human memories, to feed on humans, to turn people…”

“Who compelled her?”

“Elijah.”
