Anyway, I've decided that Laney could get changed up a bit for this.
Basically, when Laney was young, her father sent her to a pageant camp to learn how to be proper and well-mannered. She's never really seen a boy, so when she arrives back at the casino by the train, she immediately falls for Mugman, but she just wants to hide it the best she can.
