A Baker's Bend

After the cookie fiasco and a few more customers, Helen had left griping about her overtime salary. It was just Sebastian and me to clean up.
"I'll fix the kitchen, could you count the money in the register?" I said walking back through the swinging door. Not before seeing Sebastian comically salute me. The kitchen was a mess and I had to open the back window to let out some of the smoke. I began waving a pale blue dish towel to get the smoke to start moving. Luckily we didn't have a fire alarm in the kitchen.
When I had finished I strolled out into the kitchen to see Sebastian at a table hovering over the money.
"You already figured out the tax?" I said standing over him. "You're good at this." I smiled down at him.
"But I'm garbage at baking." He said leaning back in his chair.
"You'll get the hang of it. I promise." I patted his shoulder lightly, and he reached up and placed his hand over my smaller one. Just then the little bell rung, and the door opened. We turned to see Gabriel walk in.
"What's up guys?" He said putting his arm around me.
"Nothing goofball." I said tapping his nose. Sebastian squeezes my other hand slightly harder.
"What are you doing here?" Sebastian said standing. He held out his hand to Gabriel, who let go of me to shake it.
"We have our weekly movie marathon!" Gabriel said excitedly.
"No horror movies today." I said turning to Gabriel.
"Come on!" Gabriel said flopping down into a booth. "I love horror movies." He said sitting up expectantly. I usually crack, and we watch what he wants to. I roll my eyes.
"So, do I get paid now or like..." Sebastian interrupted.
"At the end of the week." I said moving the money into an envelope to bring upstairs for my mother.
"So I'm just gonna go. Could you uh help me with my apron?" Sebastian said glancing at Gabriel, then giving me puppy dog eyes.
"You can't do it yourself?" I asked.
"It's stuck." He whined. I walked over to him easily undoing the little bow he had tied earlier.
"There you go." I said handing it to him. He looked from Gabriel to me for a moment, then walked out of the store flipping the open sign to say "closed." He looked back at me one more time before he left.
"Let's get up there and watch those movies." I said locking the front door. Gabriel has already started up the stairs to my mom's and my apartment, above the bakery.
"First one there gets to choose the movie!" He yelled sprinting up the stairs.
"Cheater!" I yelled after him, ascending the stairs. It doesn't matter though. I would have let him pick the movie anyway.
