I've been running around the house for hours trying to play the goddamn hide and seek with the two kids I was babysitting. I took upon this job on Saturdays to accompany the girls when their parents had their business getaways. Aside the mental and physical torture these four years old gave, the pay was considerably good for a single day of babysitting.

I threw myself on the couch with a grunt. I didn't where they got the idea of playing this game but it was pure hell for me. The first time I caught them they started shouting that it wasn't  fun that I had caught them so quickly. The house was big with five rooms but how long would it take for me to search the hideouts. After that I had to walk around calling their names even when their body was on a blatant display.

"One more", one of the girls shouted. Jane? Janiece? I had no idea who was who but their mother decided to dress them differently so that I could get hold of both the girls.

"Please", I begged in a whisper.  My back was getting back on me for all the strain I put on it. I really needed a nap right now. Between my work and hospital I was draining and these reincarnation of devils never let me go. No offense, I loved these girls but sometimes they were too much to handle.

"Okay girls. One  last round", I announced raising from the couch. They screeched in joy and scrambled off in different directions. I waited a few minutes to pursue after them

"Thank you so much", the girls's mother thanked me. 

I smiled at her kindness. I've had a fair experience in baby sitting but never had I come across someone like her. She never forgot to thank me while other parents almost made their maid for a single cost.

I wished them good night and walked out of the house. Wren was waiting for me inside his car. 

The night sky was beautiful. This side of the town was filled with wealthy people and it screamed money. The pavement to light were alluring like the giant houses aligned a few meters apart. Do they even think about the cool breeze that night carried for them? Would they even look at the stars at night and get enchanted by it?

"So I am guessing you are going to pass out?", Wren teased me. 

"Your guesses are getting pretty accurate nowadays"

He laughed and shook his head. "What to say? I can't stop myself with this brain of mine"

I grimaced at his reply, "You should stop hanging out with Wolf. He is rubbing on you and I don't prefer two Wolves with me"

"What's for dinner?", he changed the topic after a good minute of laughter.

I felt like days since I stepped into my house. I kinda missed my dad but he was understanding of my situation. I placed my bags and started making dinner. I prepared Poached eggs in salsa with some soup.

"How's Marie?", my dad asked stuffing the food in his mouth. I sat next to him on the table and put some food on my plate.

"She's doing good, dad. Kade's been there the whole time. Except that seizure she's doing pretty good". But I was scared. The sinking feeling in my heart never let the fear go. Every time I looked at Marie something was squeezing like I had already know the future. A future there was no Marie.

I mentally shook my mind of my negative thoughts and tried to concentrate on the presence of food. I shifted dad on his bed and pulled the blanket over him. 

"We can use my pension", Dad said as sat next to the bed and laid my head on his hands.

"It's for the rent, dad. Don't worry about money okay. I am working on it.", I mumbled trying to keep my eyes open. 

"I am sorry that I can't help Kade. I feel useless", each word that came out of his mouth broke my heart. As months went by I knew I was losing my dad and it was painful to see his changes. He was never going to the same energetic and positive guy. He became this insecure man who needed constant reassurance.

"I want you to support me dad. Not financially but by giving me love and care. That's all I want and I can do anything"

I couldn't see his face in the dark but by his deep and uneven breathes I could feel him trying to contain his tears. 

"I love you so much, Amy. You are the reason I want to live. I will give you all my love. You are the Queen in Princess place."

I washed all the dishes before going to bed. The wait for the reply from the mails I've sent was making me anxious. Kade gave me constant update on Marie and I gave my first share to him today and had to endure that hour long crying session from him. Such a baby. After I shut my phone, the sleep took over in no time.

When I woke up the next morning, my eyes were puffed that I almost couldn't see. Definitely needed more sleep. The tangled hair made me cry in frustration. I threw upon a  dress from my bland collection of clothes and ate the scrambled eggs my dad made. 

It was time for me to go to hospital. I rechecked all the items that I had to take to the hospital to complete my programming assignments. 

Kade was already gone and Marie was sleeping on medication. The nurse told me she wouldn't wake up for another hour since she just completed a session. I set up my materials and started doing my assignments. 

"Mrs.Richardson's daughter?", a old lady nurse asked entering the room. I nodded and she asked me to follow her. She took me to the billing area. After waiting for fifteen minutes a middle aged man came with a file.

"Hi"

"Hi"

"So this is Mrs.Richardson's file. It has the bill amount to be paid before the next session which will be happening next week". He handed me the file and went back. 

My heart dropped when I looked at the amount. I mean I was expecting to be a bit large amount of money since they informed us about the details of the next session and how it could improve her health but seeing the numbers made my  head spin. I thought we could manage the amount but no amount of overworking will cover this much.

I was coming down from my shock when my phone rang. I stopped in the corridor to take the call.

"Hey Wren. What's up?"

"Hey Amy.. I think I have the job for you"
