Arting Tips!

Hoi!!!

Above is a picture of a tutorial for a manga girl by Mark Crilley. He is the reason I can draw how I do now. If you haven't heard of him, then I seriously recommend you search his tutorials on YouTube. He is honestly the best.

Anywho... Earlier, I asked if ya wanted some tricks o' the trade, and I found out, some people do!

Let's get started, shall we?

Eyes

Realistic: For realistic eyes, it's all about placement. Make sure you always draw the eyes in the middle of the head, and make them only about one eye length apart. Proportions are based off the eyes, so you gotta draw them before anything else.

Manga/animu: Again, eyes are always about placement. Too close, it looks like a cyclops. Too far, it resembles a potato... And not in a good way. Anime and manga eyes come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so try to make it your own unique style. Proportions are about the same, like spacing, not size.

Shading

Ahhh... Shading is pretty hard to master, but once you got it down, it comes naturally. What helped me was drawing a flashlight pointing where I want the light source to be. Anything closer to light, I shaded lighter, and stuff farther away would be darker. If something overlapped, like a sleeve on an arm, the arm would have a shadow... Make sense? I'm not gery good at explaining...

Coloring With Markers

Every marker brand is different, so it depends on the kind you have. With my Spectrum Noirs, I use circular motions to color. If you want a part to be darker, then add another layerof color. The markers I have have two nibs. One is a sketch tip and the other is thick. When coloring larger areas, use the thick end, and you'll cover space WAY faster.

Body Proportions

This one seriously is the death of me. q-q

When I draw awkward poses, I usually go stand by a mirror to see how it looks. Another great way is to have someone ya know pose for you, and just draw a bunch o' random figures. Look at REAL LIFE objects! Don't look up drawings! You can look up real people just for their pose, and then draw the person you want, like an OC.

>.<

Those were all the tip recommendations I got, so I hope they were helpful! If not, tell me what I should add, and I will edit it into this chappy.

Thanks for reading all this trash.

More rants to come.
