Often mistaken as Jade, Aventurine is a beautiful, forest green gemstone that is used for jewellery and more. Aventurine could be many other colours, including brown, yellow, grey and blue, but green is the most common. Aventurine is a part of the Quartz family.

Aventurine is a part of the Quartz family because of it's translucency and sparkly metallic inclusions. Aventurine also has darker and ligher zones on the same stone. Some varieties of Aventurine can be banded in shades of green.

Aventurine quartz can be found in many locations around the world. Some of the most popular sources include Brazil, India, Austria, Chile, Russia and Tanzania.
