🎩 Chapter 5: Dream Or Not? 🎩
~~~~~~~~Iris's POV~~~~~~~~~
The smell of rain was what woke me up the next day. I could hear the droplets softly landing against the window beside my bed, and unlike yesterday, the room was much darker without the strong rays of sunlight.
In a way, it was all calming.
With a yawn, I sat up as I stretched my arms above my head. Although I enjoyed seeing a bright morning, a rainy one was just as peaceful when there was no storm involved.
Then it hit me.
Where was that ... thing? That demon, he said he was?
I did just wake up..
Did I simply dream all of that? Have I been so stressed lately that my mind made this elaborate nightmare for me? Did nothing actually happen?
I waited a few minutes to see if he appeared, I even called his name a few times, but nothing happened.
Letting out a sigh of relief because of it, I got out of bed and put on a clean set of clothes before heading downstairs. It didn't take long for the entire room to be filled with the amazing scent of bacon and eggs in the morning, seeing Ana making breakfast.
She looked over at me, then smiled. "Morning, Ivy!"
"Morning." I walked over, taking in a deep inhale. "Mm, this smiles good!"
"Ah shush, we both know you're the better chef." She replied with a chuckle as I sat at the table. Soon enough, she walked over with two plates of breakfast and sat at the table, placing one in front of me. "Here ya go."
"Thanks, sis." We both started eating, and I then let out a chuckle. "You know, I had the weirdest dream last night. There was this statue in the forest, and-"
My eyes widened as they landed at the window, almost dropping the fork I was holding.
Ana tilted her head. "And?"
"Um- I-I uh- g-give me a sec!" Placing my fork down, I rushed to the front door, and I was unable to take in the sight that laid in front of me.
The only thing that existed besides my house was ocean; so much ocean for miles and miles! No houses, no trees, no people! Just at the edge of the steps swam creatures I had never even heard of before!
"Pretty cool, right?"
"AH!" I quickly turned around to see the demon from my dream floating upside down beside me. "W-what the-?!"
"What, forgot about me already?"
"Y- You're real?! It w-wasn't a dream..?!"
"Nope!" He patted my head with a grin. "I'm here to make your boring little human life worth living! So what do ya think, kid?"
"T-turn things back!!"
"What?! Why?!"
"I'm not gonna live in a deserted island, turn things back to normal!!"
"Alright, okay! Jeez!" He snapped his fingers with a huff, the world going back to how it was in the blink of an eye. "There, happy?"
Feeling relief set in, I let out a sigh, though it quickly vanished when I heard Ana walking over. "Iris? What's going on? Your food's gonna get cold."
I looked around, unable to see the blond man around, and forcing on the best smile I could. "S-sorry, Ana, I'll be there in a minute!"
"Well dang, if you hated my cooking that much, you could've just said so." She pouted at me before walking back inside, and making me feel bad. Her cooking was amazing!
Not the point though.
"Then what is the point?"
"EEP!!" I shot the demon a glare. "S-stop that!!"
He laughed a bit. "Sorry."
"Where were you earlier? I called for you, I even started to think it was all a dream!"
He simply shrugged, letting his feet land on the ground. "I didn't hear anything."
"I said Billy Cipher more than four times."
His carefree expression quickly morphed into a sharp glare. "Bill, it's Bill Cipher, it's not that difficult to remember."
"Oh. Sorry." I quickly shook my head. "But if you're gonna continue to stay here, we're gonna place some rules down."
"Ugh...."
"Firstly, my sister can't know you exist, I don't want her in any danger because of you."
"That's an easy one."
"And second, don't use your magic like this unless I tell you to!"
"What?!"
I crossed my arms with a glare. "I don't know what you're capable of, and considering the stunt you just pulled, I'm not letting you go around as you wish. No use of magic unless you tell me first."
A growl escaped his lips, but he soon let out a huff. "Fine, I won't."
I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you."
With that, I headed back inside and finished my breakfast.
I had moved here to be more relaxed, but so far its had the opposite effect on me..
...
Maybe another nature walk could help..?
