🌓 Chapter 4: A Rough Day 🌗
~~~~~~~~~Gabe's POV~~~~~~~~~
The rest of my school hours went by too slow for my liking. I wasn't focused on anything that happened around me, my mind kept thinking about what happened during my lunch period.
I talked to Bill Cipher, the famous dream demon.
My grandfather.
Why? Because he wanted to warn me about an upcoming danger. Did he tell me what it was? No! He couldn't have been any less vague than that!
A 'danger', that's all he said. Not a person, not an animal, was this even a living creature? Maybe a natural disaster? Or living in a place like Gravity Falls, a supernatural disaster?
I didn't know, he didn't say anything about it!
With a sigh, I finally walked out of my last class, reaching my locker. I honestly couldn't wait until I got home and just fall on my bed, there was so much weight on my chest, I needed to calm down. However, as I closed my locker, something caught my eye.
Or.. more of a someone..
I couldn't see their face, but from their body I could they were female, probably from my same grade. She did have other parts that I strangely recognize. Long pink hair, really long, with two gray wolf ears on her head, and a green snake-like tail.
No... that couldn't be...
I-I was wrong, right..?
"Gabe?" I was about to walk over when I heard Jade's voice, turning to see her walking over. "How do you feel?"
"Fine, I'm fine." I looked back to wear the girl was, but she had disappeared. There was no sign of that girl, not in the hall, nowhere around.
Was I just imagining it..?
Jade's eyebrows bent in worry. "Gabe, you've been all over the place today, are you sure you're okay..?"
I waited for a few seconds, then looked at her. "I'll explain later, but I gotta tell Mom about this first."
Sitting in the living, Mom stared at the ground in disbelief. I told her about Bill, about what he told me, every single detail, she deserved to know.
After a while, she looked up at me, taking a deep breath. "Thanks for letting me know, Gabe.."
"Are you okay..?"
"Yeah, just surprised.." A small smile grew on her face. "I'm happy to know my parents are still together, both happy.."
"What about the danger he mentioned..?"
"My dad's always loved surprises, so it doesn't surprise me he didn't give any more info on it.. We should keep our guards up for anything."
I nodded in agreement, and she then placed a kiss on my head before walking to the kitchen, calling my dad who was still at work. Then I headed to my room, collapsing onto my bed with a heavy sigh.
First oversleeping, getting so easily annoyed by Will that my powers got out of control for a moment, that horrible migraine, getting news about a danger by my suppose-to-be-dead grandfather, and then seeing someone like.. her..?
This was seriously not my day...
...
I need some rest...
Groaning at the strange sounds, I woke up from my sleep, taking my glasses to see what was going on. It was two in the morning, I was too tired, and my head was still aching a bit.
I looked out my window, seeing Jade and Fiona outside, Jade giving me a wave with a smile. I opened my window, now able to hear her as she called for me. "Hey bro!"
"What are.. Why are you two outside..?"
"Jade called for a meeting at the treehouse, so we're calling for you."
I rubbed my eyes with a yawn. Treehouse meeting, huh?
Grabbing my winter jacket and long pants, I climbed out the window and out of my house, reaching the ground. Gravity Falls winters were heavy when it came to snow, but we were pretty used to it.
"So why the sudden meeting?"
"I'll explain once we're there. C'mon, let's hurry."
And so, we went into the forest. A little after we moved to this town, we found a broken treehouse deep in the woods, and though it took a while, we transformed it into our own little clubhouse which we still use until this day.
Jake and Cassie were already inside when we walked in, and once we sat down, Jade turned to me.
"Is it.. true..? You talked to our grandfather..?"
I should've expected that to be the main topic, it'll probably be on all of our minds for a long while.
I nodded. "I did, yeah.. It wasn't much, but I leaned a lot about him already.."
"Dude, that's so cool..!!" Fi replied. "What did he tell you..?!"
"Well, he explained why he hasn't talked to us earlier, and.. and that he came to warm me about a future danger.."
Cassie turned to me in worry. "A future danger..?"
"He didn't say anything other than that, but he sounded serious, so we should keep our guards up."
They all nodded in agreement, and we decided to spend the night in the treehouse.
I just hope this danger isn't too serious..
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
