~~~~~~~~~Sage's POV~~~~~~~~~

It was five in the afternoon when we all sat down for dinner. I offered Fiona to stay, but she decided to head back home. Luckily here house was quite close to ours, so I had no problem with her going out alone.

As we all ate on the table, there was a strange aura surrounding the twins..

I didn't like it one bit..

"So, how was school?" I asked, trying to slowly lead my way to the main question.

Jade gave a bright smile. "It was good! George ate the last muffin and Zoey almost beat him up for it."

"Zoey reminds me of someone." Aiden glanced at me, making me punch his arm as the two of us laughed.

I turned to my son. Gabe was always more quiet than Jade, but he was more quiet than usual. "What about you, Gabe?"

"Good."

"Anything interesting happened?"

"No." He kept staring at his food, his fork softly tapping on the plate.

Now I was seriously worried..

I gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "Gabe, honey, is everything okay..?"

"Everything's fine, Mom."

I knew how he worked. I just needed to wait until his anger passed away, which usually took around two hours.

Turning to Aiden, I nodded down to my stomach. He could see what I meant, and nodded with a small smile before turning to the kids. "So your mother and I have some news."

Jade and Sahara's eyes lit up. "What sort of news?!"

"Maybe it's the same news we know."

I turned to Gabe as he spoke, raising an eyebrow. "What sort of news do you have?"

He finally put his fork down, looking at us. "Just that this town is far from normal."

"What?"

"Don't you think it would've been fair to at least tell us our grandfather is a legend around these parts?"

I felt my blood run cold, my eyes widening a little. Yes, I'll admit we hid all magic from our kids. Why? With all that's happened to us, the last thing I wanted was for them to be in danger.

But we really missed this old town..

I shook my head, forcing on a smile. "Yeah, he used to be-"

"An all-knowing all-powerful demon."

My hand gripped the fork I held, feeling myself grow even more nervous. However, I just let out a sigh. "I don't know what you've heard, but I'll explain it all soon."

"When is soon, Mom?! When I'm fifty?! I'm tired of all the secrets you and Dad have been keeping for years!!"

"Do not raise your tone at me!"

"Do not lie to us then!! Families are suppose to trust each other, how am I suppose to trust my own parents if all they do is lie!!!"

I tried to call for him as he stood up, running out of the house as Jade followed to try and calm him down.

Aiden had his arms on my shoulders, gently rubbing the side of my arm to comfort me. A heavy sigh sigh escaped my lips as I let my head fall on his shoulder, feeling his on mine.

"We need to tell them, Sage.."

"... I know..."

~~~~~~~~~Gabe's POV~~~~~~~~~

This was unfair!

It was all so unfair!!

They knew about this, of course they knew!! It's just more and more secrets!!

I was far enough in the forest when I finally stopped running, feeling the tears stream down my face as I glared at the ground. I felt so betrayed!

"Dude, you okay..?" I turned to my side to see Fi walking over with a worried expression. She was holding her archery gear, so I can assume what she was going out here since her house only a few trees away.

I took off my glasses, wiping away the tears before putting them back on with a sniffle. "F-fine."

Not long after, Jade came running over, stopping in front of me. "What was that about..?!"

"I just can't stand it anymore! I hate all these secrets!"

"I'm sure they have their reasons!"

"Yeah, a reason to keep our entire family a complete secret!! We deserve an explanation!!"

"Guys, hey!" We turned to Fi. "What the heck happened?!"

Jade looked at me as I crossed my arms, then back at Fi. "Gabriel made a big scene back home, he and Mom started to argue and he ran out."

There was silence after that, and all I could feel was my anger.

"I didn't think I'd see you this soon." Another voice spoke, making me look up and see Lara sitting on a tree branch, soon jumping down. "Have you made up your mind?"

Both Jade and Fiona backed away, but after a while, I nodded. "Yeah. I wanna meet him."

Before I could follow, Fiona pulled me back to them. "I don't know about this Gabe. I think you need to calm down and-"

"I've already made up my mind. I want to know the truth." I pulled away, following Lara.

I noticed Jade and Fiona share a worried glance, but then followed us.

Maybe now I can finally know what's been going on.
