"See? It's that simple!" Lara explained, a soft pink orb floated on her hands as she gave him a soft smile.

Gabe took several pictures. It had been three days since they met, three days since everything he had known for his entire life turned upside down.

The act of doing the unexplainable, the ability to do the unbelievable, it was real.

Magic was real.

At least, it was in this town. This strange and barely known town that his parents dragged him to out of nowhere. There was so much more he needed to know about all of this, so many questions he needed the answers too.

Science never explained this until now, he was gonna find the answers to this as soon as he could.

He sat back under the tree, taking out his hTab, swiping and typing all he would learn. "There has to be some sort of explanation for this, and I'm gonna find it, or my name isn't Gabriel Anderson Cipher."

She turned to him once more, her bright green eyes wide in shock. "Wait.. Cipher..?!"

"Yeah?" He raised an eyebrow in question.

"You're a Cipher?!?"

"I don't see what the big deal is."

She kneeled down beside him. "Gabe, that last name belongs to Bill Cipher!"

He knew that was his grandfather's name. Of course, that's the only thing he knew about it. "Well, he is my grandfather."

"Then how do you not know about magic?!?"

He stayed quiet for a bit, letting out a sigh before turning off his tab. "Truth be told, my parents have never told me anything about him. Why's he so important?"

"He's the most powerful demon in the whole universe!! He has conquered so many planets, he's dominated entire galaxies!! He's a legend!!"

Gabe stared at her in disbelief. That couldn't be true, it just couldn't!

It just didn't make sense!

"That's- It's not true!" He exclaimed, standing up.

She only smiled. "It is, I can take you to him, I know where he lives! It's not that far!"

He knew better than that; he wasn't just gonna follow some random stranger into the forest.

But.. this whole magic thing was true..

Maybe..

Maybe he could finally find out more about his family..

However, he let out a sigh, crossing his arms. "I'll think about it."

"Alright, I'll be around if you choose to see him."

"Okay."

She turned into her snake form, slithering up a tree. "Goodbye, Gabriel!"

He stayed quiet, so many thoughts flying around his head as he made his way back home.

Could it really be true..?

Sitting on the living room couch were Gabe, Jade, and Fiona. The three of them were watching a strange show on the television, though Gabe couldn't really focus much.

Well, he couldn't focus at all.

After a while, Jade paused the show, turning to her brother. "Alright, Gabe, what's wrong?"

"What do you mean?"

"I can tell something has been bothering you these past few days! And it's not just about the move anymore!"

"Nothing's wrong."

"I have to side with Jade for this, you have been acting strange. Well, stranger than usual." Fiona said as she turned to them.

He simply rolled his eyes, still looking at the tv.

She kept staring at him in worry, until he finally caved in and let out a sigh, facing them. "I.. I fount out magic is real in this town."

Both of the girls' eyes widened, sharing a glance. Jade was trying to keep in a smile, while Fiona raised an eyebrow, thinking he was insane.

He took out his hTab, showing him the pictures he had taken of Lara and the things she showed him. "I met this girl a few days ago. She claims to be some sort of hybrid, and she saved me from a monster. She also showed all these things that she's able to do and-!"

"Whoa whoa, slow down!" Fiona raised a hand, signaling him to stop. "What are you saying?!"

"I'm saying this town isn't normal! And get this: she knows about our grandfather Bill Cipher!"

"She does?!?" Jade's eyes were wide with curiosity, a smile of hope on her face.

He nodded, showing her more of the pictures. "She says he lived nearby, and that she can take us to him!"

"Guys-"

"We have to go!! We can finally find out who he is!!" Jade replied.

"Guys-!"

Gabe has a smile on his face too. "That's what I was thinking!!"

"Guys!!!"

Both twins turned to their cousin who had been trying to get their attention. She let out a heavy sigh, rubbing her neck. "We Don't know if this is true or not! For all we know this girl could just be messing with you! I mean, magic? Did you hit your head or something?"

"I know it sounds bizarre, but I saw it with my own eyes! She has animal parts, and can become a snake!! I can prove it!!"

"I'm still not sure about this, Gabe. This all sounds really suspicious."

Jade took Fiona's hands in hers, her smile growing wider. "C'mon, Fi!! This is our chance to learn about our family!!"

She stared at Jade for a few seconds, another sigh soon escaping her lips. "I have been wondering about it myself for a while now anyways.."

"Yay!!!" Jade wrapped her arms around her, then looked at her brother. "When will we go?!"

"Tomorrow's Saturday, I'll look for Lara then." He replied.
