🐍Chapter 13: To Find Jade🐍

~~~~~~~~~Third Person POV~~~~~~~~~
It had been a week. One whole week.
Fiona and Gabriel has been learning magic as fast as possible, and because of their heritage, they learned most spells really quickly. Everyday they felt stronger, more powerful; it was as if a child that has never eaten candy before suddenly getting their first sugar rush.
Gabriel hadn't slept that last night, he was too focused on making his tracking spell perfect. They couldn't afford any mistakes, they had to find Jade, they had to find their home.
With a yawn, Fiona walked into the living room, seeing her cousin holding several dark blue orbs as he stared with a tired yet serious expression. "Gabe?"
He jumped a little, looking over before rubbing his eyes in a sleepy manner. "Evening.."
"It's morning."
"Is it..?"
"Did you stay up all night?!"
He fixed his glasses a bit with a yawn. "I was just practicing.. I didn't think I'd take so long.."
"Well you better at least take a small nap." They both turned to see Savanna walking over with her cat, her arms crossed. "There's no point in knowing a spell perfectly if you don't have the energy for it."
"We don't have time for a nap." Gabe stood back up, stretching his arms above his head with a yawn. "We need to find Jade."
"We won't be able to get Jade if you fall asleep midway!! Get some rest!!"
He stared at his cousin for a while, debating in his head whether to listen or not. Eventually, he caved it, lying down on the couch with another yawn. "Fine.."
Gabe was already asleep by the next minute, making Fiona let out a sigh as she sat down.
"Quite the stubborn one, isn't he?" Savanna commented as she made breakfast; she was surprisingly quite well at cooking.
She gave a shrug. "His head is too big to think sometimes, but we've been through a lot this past week."
Savanna walked over, placing the plate of food in front of food. Fi didn't hesitate to eat the breakfast, smiling a bit. "You know, you'd be a great addition to my aunt's and uncle's restaurant."
She scoffed, sitting at the table. "Sorry, munchkin, but I highly doubt your family would ever want to see me alive. Especially your aunt."
Fiona stayed quiet for a while. She didn't know the full story, but there was definitely something much bigger than what she's been told, so she didn't push on it.
A little while later, Gabe was awake, determination filling his head as he grabbed a bag with necessities that Savanna had given both him and Fiona.
The woman crossed her arms. "You two be careful out there."
"Didn't think you cared that much, Savanna." Fiona commented with a sly smile, Gabe snickering a bit as Savanna rolled her eyes.
"Yeah yeah, just take care of yourself, munchkins.."
They both nodded in reply before forming two orbs for a tracking spell, with both their energies, they had a better chance.
Hopefully they had learned enough..
~~~~~~~~~Jade's POV~~~~~~~~~

"Almost, almost..!!" I tight gripped the iron bars that kept us locked. It was a spell I had been trying to get right since I got locked up, wanting for the three of us to escape. It was suppose to whither the metal away so it could break, but I never seemed to get it right..

When I felt a zap go up my arm, I knew I had failed once again, letting out a sigh of defeat. "Sorry.."

"You're getting better though, that's closer than Jake and I have ever done.." Cassie tried to cheer me up.

I tried to force on a smile, but I knew I could do better. I sat back down, leaning against the bars as I stared at the ground.

Jake softly tapped the bars, making me turn to him and seeing him give me a warm smile as he raised his hands to speak. "You did good, Jade.."

I had grown so much closer to Jakob and Cassandra, she was an amazing friend, and Jake..

Well, Jake was maybe more..

But this is definitely not the time or place to tell anyone about it..

"Thank you.." I returned the smile.

However, his expression soon grew into one of panic, making me turn to see Lara walking over with Venom around her shoulders. As she did, chains wrapped around all three of us, the gates opening with a sudden swing.

"Get up."

We all shared glances, but I was the first to stand up, my arms tied to my sides. Both of my friends stood closer to me as we followed Lara down a dark hallway, eventually reaching a large room with a big tank in the far wall.

As we looked around, I heard a grunt from behind us. Lara had pushed over another person, who seemed familiar to me, before locking the door she left from.

The person lifted onto their knees, my eyes widened at the sight.

"Nathan?!?"

His eyes turned to me, fear filling them. "Jaiden!!!"

My family has a lot of meetings, and we know a lot of their kids. Nathan was their friends' Leo and Mabel's son, only four years younger than me.

He ran over to me, falling onto me. He would've hugged me if he wasn't tied in chains too, looking up at me in a panic. "W-what's going on?!? Where are we?!?"

"Calm down, I'll explain everything.." We stood back up, and I looked at my friends. "This is Nathan, he's a family friend.."

Looking back down at him, I took a deep breath. "I need you to stay calm.."

Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
