Gabe and I sat on one side of the booth, both shocked at the story we had heard.

"Assassins.. They were assassins?!?" He yelled, gripping his hair.

Savanna gave a shrug. "Best ones in the business. If it makes you feel any better, they thought they were hunting down bad people."

"Alright, hold on." I raised a hand. "So basically: my dad and his mom were sent to kill my mom and his dad, but they fell in love and killed the boss, and yay they're all a happy family?"

"Basically."

"... Honestly? That's hella cool."

"Cool?! They were murderers, Fi!!" Gabe said with a glare.

I simply crossed my arms, rolling my eyes at his tantrum. "Emphasis on the 'were', they don't do that anymore. Besides, they thought they were hunting bad people, they were tricked the whole time."

That seemed to shut him up for the time being, and he leaned back with a small growl, looking down.

Savanna was enjoying it all, holding in her laughter. "You two are a riot." She then softly tapped her glass of water, which glowed pink for a little while before more ice grew in it.

My eyes widened a bit. "Whoa, cool..!!"

"What, this? Babies can do this sort of magic. I'm sure you two could do far more things than I ever could."

I stayed quiet for a bit, looking at Gabe who just stared out of the window, then back at Savanna. "We don't know any magic."

"What?"

"We don't know anything about our grandparents, we've never been told. We've been hearing a few stories about our grandfather Bill Cipher, but that's all."

"Munchkin, your grandfather was the most powerful creature that all seven universes could've ever witnessed. He was alive for longer than our own planet, and disappeared around thirty years ago."

Gabe's eyes seemed to light up in curiosity at that, looking back at her. "Why did he disappear..?"

"Don't know, something to do with your grandmother, I haven't cared enough to do research." She took a sip of her water. "Now, earlier you said something about a sister?"

"His sister Jaiden was taken, we don't know where she is, but we need to get her back." I explained.

"Mm." She placed her glass of water down. "Alright, how's this: I'll let you stay at my place and teach you some basic magic, that way you can find Jaiden and/or go home."

Gabe crossed her arms. "Sounds like you're trying to kidnap us."

"Too bad, that's my offer."

I looked at Gabe, who had a small suspicious glare on his face, then let out a sigh. "Alright."

"Almost there!" Cassie yelled in excitement as I stared down at my hands in concentration, feeling a heavy force around my fingertips.

Not too long had passed when a small jade green orb with black tiny orbs floating around it formed in my hands, my eyes widening at the sight.

I.. I did magic..!

I did magic!!!  

"I did it!!!" I jumped up in joy as I heard Cassie cheered for me, Jake clapping with a smile.

Sitting back down, I examined the orb in my hands. "I can't believe it..!!" I smiled at my two new friends. "It might take a while, but I'm gonna get us all out of here.."

"We appreciate your determination, Jade, but we don't want you to get hurt for us.." Jake spoke with his hands, a concerned look on his face.

"I still want to try, and you could stay with me..! We have the room.."

"You're sure we'd be aloud to..?" Cassie asked, to which I nodded.

"I'm positive.."

They smiled at me, and I smiled back.

That's when trays with some sort of blob on then were slipped into our cells, making me groan a bit in disgust. But my stomach rumbles, I hadn't eaten for a long while now..

However, Cassie gave me a small smile before forming a dark purple orb which split into three, each one landing on the trays, and morphing them into delicious looking food!

"Whoa!!"

"Dig in, it's completely healthy!"

Without hesitation, I grabbed the plate and dragged it over to me, sinking my teeth into the food. It was so good!

"Wow, this is amazing!! It would be an awesome addition to my parents' restaurant!"

"Your parents own a restaurant?" Cassie tilted her head.

I nodded. "They have for years, their cooking's amazing!"

My parents..

Oh God, do they already know I'm gone..?

How are they now..? Are they scared..?

Are they looking for me..?

"Jade..?" I jumped a bit, looking at Cassie who seemed a bit worried. "You okay..?"

"I.. Y-yeah, yeah..! Just thinking.."

She stayed quiet for a bit, sitting at the edge of her cell to be closer to me. "You miss your family..?"

I bit my lip, nodding. I've always hated making them worry over me, and now they're gonna be so scared that I'm gone...!

Mom...

Dad...

I'm so sorry...
