🐍Chapter 1: New Home🐍
~~~~~~~~~Gabe's POV~~~~~~~~~
"YAY, WE'RE HERE WE'RE HERE WE'RE HERE!!!"
I cringed at how loud my sister yelled as the car parked. Seriously, I wish I had a mute button sometimes.
Mom let out a laugh. "Alright, everyone take your bags."
My sister opened the car door, jumping out before helping our little sister out. I only rolled my eyes, letting out a sigh as I got out, looking up at what was gonna be our new home.
I'm Gabriel Carlos Anderson Cipher. I'm eleven at the moment, and simply go by Gabe. My hair is usually messy, starting as black from the roots and going to a magenta pink, which I've been told is a genetic mutation.
I have brown skin and blue eyes, though without my glasses I'm basically blind. And don't ask about my clothes, because I really don't care about it and simply found the first shirt in my closet.
Mentioning a few things about me, I'm a man of science, and I've been told by many people how I focus way too much school rather than have a social life.
I'm very different than my twin sister, Jaiden Rose, or Jade as everyone calls her. She's a lot more energetic than I am, and is the type of person who gets along with almost everyone she meets.
Her hair is a mix of black and dark brown, and she dyed her hair tips to be a bright jade-ish blue. Her eyes are a different tone of blue from me, and she has light skin with freckles under her eyes that she apparently got from our grandfather.
There's also our little sister Sahara Marie, who's only five right now. She looks a lot like Jade, but without freckles and bangs.
There's also of course my mom and dad, who for short everyone calls them Aiden and Sage. And at the moment? I'm not really that happy with them.
Sure, I didn't take my social life too seriously, but I still had a few good friends back in Michigan, I already had my life planned out there, I didn't want to move to some barely even known town called Gravity Falls in Oregon!
Apparently both my mom and dad grew up here, and had lived in this house with my uncle and aunts here for many years.
Still, they could've at least asked for my opinion on the whole thing!
I grabbed my bag from the trunk, walking over to the front door. As usual, Jade was overjoyed about the situation, and was already inside.
The house was pretty, I'll admit that, but it was nothing compared to the one we had. The whole first floor was one giant room except for the bathroom, and the second was a hall with five doors, not included the one to the attic.
Dad walked in, placing a few of the bags on the couch. "Why don't you guys check out your new rooms?"
"Okay!!" Jade ran upstairs, and I followed soon after.
I opened one of the doors, seeing my stuff already there. The walls were a light blue, and there was a window right above my desk, which was nice.
Placing my bag down, I took out some of my clothes to put them in the closet. The house itself had kind of a heavy aura which made me feel pretty strange.
It was as if the walls had secrets in them, as weird as it may sound. But this is just a house, I'll get over it.
With a heavy sigh, I let myself fall back onto my bed, staring at the ceiling. I still wonder we moved back here, my parents both had steady jobs, we had a good school, I just don't see why!
"What do you think?!" I sat up to see Jade standing my the door with a smile. "Pretty cool, right?!"
"I guess."
"I like it, it's really nice in here!"
Giving her a shrug, I took off my glasses, cleaning them with my shirt. "The one we had was much better."
Her expression fell a bit, walking over to me. "Oh c'mon, Gabe, it won't be so bad!"
"Right."
"We can make new friends here! I'm sure the people here are really nice! And besides, our family will be moving here next week too!"
"Oh great."
Staying silent for a few seconds, she let out a sigh. "Look, you'll see that things will be just as good here as they were back in Michigan!"
I didn't reply, but looked up when she offered her hand. "How about a bet? If you grow to like here within the next two weeks, I get ten bucks. If you don't, you get ten bucks."
A few seconds went by as I stared at her, raising an eyebrow to see if she was serious. Eventually, I sighed, shaking her hand. "Deal."
We made bets really often, even as little kids. Every time we did so though, there was a strange warmth in our hands for a second. We've always just ignored it though.
She walked out of my room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I looked over to my desk, then at the invention bag I had on me. Inventing things was something that's always been special to me, especially robotics and rocketry.
At least that can make me feel a little bit better.
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
