🥀Chapter 12: Old Rivalries🥀
~~~~~~~~~Noah's POV~~~~~~~~~
"She what?!?" I yelled as Aiden explained all that happened.
No, I wasn't yelling because of the fact she lied about the whole situation, as much as it hurt to think about it. She hated lying, more than anything, this I knew. So she had an important reason to not tell us everything, right..?
I yelled because of the fact she went after Ashley on her own. I now knew how powerful she can be, and from how weak Sage and I feel, she probably took our powers for herself.
And as strong as Iv may be, I had the gut feeling she couldn't face Ashley on her own.
"She can handle Ashley, right..?" Alyse said with a small smile, yet it didn't meet her eyes. I could tell she was just as worried, maybe more than I was.
Aiden stayed quiet for a while, Alyse's expression slowly falling. "I'm not so sure.."
"We need to go after her!" I said, desperate to leave the house.
Sage placed a hand on my shoulder. "N, we've lost most of our powers, going against her will most likely slow us down."
"She can't go on her own!!"
"No, she can't." We both turned to Aiden who stood up a bit weakly, letting out a sigh. "Noah, do what you can to find Iv and bring her back."
I nodded in understanding before Sage stood in between. "So we're gonna let him go on his own?!"
Aiden looked at her. I didn't know what was going on inside his head, I've never liked reading people's minds like Sage, but from his expression, I could tell he was confident about whatever plan he had.
"We're going to check a few things in town, it might help with everything." Sage stayed quiet at his explanation, soon letting out a sigh of defeat before facing me.
"Alright, but you be careful out there. We still don't know what she's capable of."
I gave another nod before turning into my hawk form, which took away enough energy, and flying out in search for Iv.
I just hope I can find her before it's too late...
~~~~~~~~~Aiden's POV~~~~~~~~~
Sage and I went to town. A part of me doubted what I had in mind, but it was the only plan I head right now.
We stopped at the prison building, the only one we have in our little town, which had to be the one where Ashley stayed at.
"What are we doing here..?" Sage asked as she looked at me confused.
I opened the door for her. "We need all the information we can get."
She stared at me for a while before walking in as I followed behind. After a while, we went to the desk, asking about Ashley Anderson.
My dad had an older brother, who was Ashley's father, but we barely ever saw. After our parents died, he disappeared, and Ashley began staying with us for about two years.
We always sensed a darkness, but we ignored it because she was family.
Maybe we should've stopped her beforehand.
My plan was shut down when the secretary said there was no information. So much for getting all the info we needed.
However, as we tried to leave, we were stopped when she told us someone wanted to talk to us. Sage and I exchanged a confused look before walking to the talk room.
My eyes widened a bit as a familiar face was brought over by two guards, and it wasn't long until I sensed anger radiating from Sage.
"Hey, Sage." She said as she sat at the other side of the glass wall, a serious look on her face.
Sage growled. "Why did you call us here, Savanna?"
"I was getting lunch when I couldn't help but hear you talking about an Ashley?" Sage and I looked at each other, suspicious to why she cared about this.
"Yes, we are.."
"Well, I happened to share a cell with a girl called Ashley. Black hair, pale skin, similarities?"
"Yes, that's who we're looking for." I said, still confused to her intentions.
"Why do you care?"
Savanna let a small smirk grow on her face. "I can help you. I want her to pay for leaving me in this shithole."
"Hah, as if we'd let you out if there!" Safe crossed her arms as she glared at her.
However, from what I saw last year, I could tell she was a good fighter, and had powerful magic. I placed a hand on Sage's shoulder. "Even if we let you out, why would you choose to help us and not go after her on your own?"
"Because I know it's my only chance of freedom. I'd rather help you assholes than stay in here for nineteen more years."
I stayed quiet. As bad as this idea seemed, maybe it could help.
"Aiden.." I looked at Sage who looked at me with concern her anger. She knew what I was thinking. And she didn't like the idea, which I couldn't blame her for.
I looked back at Savanna. "If we let you out, you'll be spellbound to only use your powers and weapons when we allow you to."
I noticed Sage grow a little bit more relaxed, though Savanna didn't really like the idea. But she let out a sigh. "Alright, deal."
What were the odds we'd find her again.
I do hope Noah has better luck than us...
