Beep

As usual, my alarm clock woke me up. However, this time was... more difficult for me to wake up.

My arms were around something, something warm and comfortable.

I snuggled against it, assuming it was my pillow. Though it felt kinda odd and different.

I let out a soft groan, my eyes slowly opening, which quickly widened at the sight. A young girl was sleeping on my bed, snuggled against my chest. Her hair was long and pink, and her skin was light, wearing a blue hoodie, shorts, and gray leggings.

I felt myself grow pale, letting out a scream as I jumped back, falling off the bed and onto my back which knocked the air out of me. The girl's eyes shot open, and quickly looked down at me. I backed away as much as I could, my back eventually touching my closet.

"W-who the heck are you, and why are you on my bed?!?" I asked in a panic.

She tilted her head in confusion before looking at her hands, her eyes growing a bit. Soon after, she facepalmed, muttering. "That wasn't suppose to happen...!"

"W-what wasn't suppose to happen, who are you?!?" I asked again, desperately wanting an answer.

She took a deep breath, her features relaxing. "I can explain, but you need to calm down."

It took me a few seconds, but I let out a deep sigh, calming down as much as I could in this situation. "Alright, I'm calm, now please, explain."

"I'm Sage, the fox from yesterday." She began. "This is just my real form, my mortal form."

"So you were human all this time?!?" I asked, both surprise and a bit of anger obvious in my tone.

She waited a few seconds, thinking of what to say. "My brother and I needed a place to stay, and we figured people would let us in faster as animals than humans."

I stayed quiet. That's sort of true in a way, but if they had just asked for a place to stay, I would've allowed them.

She stood up. "It's all right though, I'll get my brother and we'll leave now."

"W-wait." I said as I gripped the edge of my desk, helping myself stand up. "If you really need a place to stay, you could've just said so in the first place. As humans. We would've let you stay. You can still stay if that's what you want."

She looked at me, her bright blue eyes a bit wide. "Wait, really?"

I nodded, a warm smile on my face.

It wasn't long until she returned the smile. "Thank you. And I'm sorry for scaring you."

"Well, I think waking up beside someone you've never seen before is pretty scary." I said with a chuckle, and she let out a small laugh. But then I got a good look at her, and I remember. "Wait, I have seen you before!"

"H-huh?"

"You're the girl from town, the one I saved from that truck!"

She let out an awkward laugh. "Y-yep, that's me... Thank you for that."

"Always happy to help." I said with a smile. "So, what's your real name?"

"Sage, actually, your sister guessed it right." She said with a derped out expression.

I chuckled. "Yeah, it's a power she has, she can guess anyone's name."

"I can see that now."

That's when someone knocked on the door. "Aiden!" Alyse opened the door, stepping inside. "I heard a scream, are you okay-?" Her eyes landed on Sage, widening a bit.

And soon after, a smirk grew on her face. "Who's this?"

I looked at Sage, asking if I could truthfully answer the question when Alyse spoke again. "And why is she in your bedroom with you? In the morning?"

Sage hesitated, but gave me a small nod. I looked st Alyse. "This is your fox, Sage."

".......... wait what?" She stared at us dumbfounded.

Sage was surrounded by a soft blue glow, and before we know it, she was in her fox form once more, sitting on my bed. "That's right."

Alyse stares at her for a while, then ran over, gently picking her up in her arms. "That is the coolest thing ever!!!"

Sage squeaked in surprise, and I couldn't help but chuckle. "Does that mean your brother's the same as you?!?" She asked again.

"He's just like me, only with green eyes." Sage explained.

"This is gonna be awesome!!!" Alyse exclaimed before running out of the room with Sage.

I let out a sigh, now completely calm. Something told me that with those two around, things would be far from normal.

But then again, normal for us is already a bit different.
