"It's ok, we have to take care of something, but you
must promise us to stay here, where you're safe."

"What will you do?"

"You know a policeman's job is never done. Now promise me you'll take care of your sisters while we're away."

"... I... I promise."

"I love you, my little crystallights..."

I let out a groan. Morning already? The night went by in the snap of a finger!

I turned off my alarm clock, sitting up with a yawn as I rubbed my eyes sleepily. I narrowed my eyes as the light from my window hit my face.

I pushed by bangs out of the way before standing up, walking over to the bathroom.

My name is Aidston, Aidston Anderson. Great name, I know. I just go by Aiden. I'm eighteen, recently starting college, and I work at a small cafe in town. My hair's a really dark brown, almost black, and short. My skin is brown and my eyes are a bright blue.

I went downstairs after getting ready, going to the kitchen. I'm usually the one who cooks around here, and I don't mind it. I like to, it helps me relax.

Heh, I know, I'm weird like that.

My twin sister cooks sometimes, usually when I'm not home from a late class or shift.

Oh, yeah, I should probably mention I have two sisters. Ivangelys is my twin sister, though she was born twenty minutes after me. She's pretty much just me in a girl form. Except her hair's a lot longer, and her eyes are dark brown.

Then there's my little sister, Alyssa. She's nine years old, almost ten later this month. Her skin is light, along with long golden blonde hair and the same color of eyes as me.

I say she's the exact replica of my mother.

"Good morning, Aiden!!!" I heard Alyse's voice boom through the room, making me turn back. She happily sat behind the counter, awaiting her breakfast. "Did you sleep well?!?"

"Uh- Yeah, yeah, I did. You?" I asked. Being honest? I hadn't had a good sleep like that in years.

"Yep!!! I slept like a rock!!!"

I chuckled. "You always do."

She sniffed the air, her eyes widening before letting out a gasp. "PANCAKES!!!"

I laughed softly, placing a plate of now freshly made pancakes on the counter. "I smell pancakes." I saw Iv now walking over. I placed another plate with pancakes on the counter. "Thanks, bro."

"No problem." I grabbed my bag. "Anyways, I have the morning shift today so I should be leaving."

"Aww, already?" Alyse said with a sad pout.

I gently ruffled her hair. "I'll be back soon, don't worry."

She gently hugged me, soon letting me go.

To me, this was just like any other ordinary day in my life, and so far it seemed to be going that way.

But surprises do happen sometimes.
