💠Chapter 18: Heartbreak💠
~~~~~~~~~Third Person POV~~~~~~~~~
They were all brought into a large room. The walls had fountains of lava which led to piles of green acid in small gaps along the edges.
The three siblings were forced onto their knees, black glowing ropes tying their wrists together, stopping them from using any magic.
As for Sage and Noah, they were standing in front of the stairs that led to a black and green throne. A familiar green snake slithered onto Sage's shoulders, making her freeze up. Noah glared at him, growling as Venom hissed, soon slithering off and onto the throne where a green mist had appeared.
It wasn't long until Ryan appeared sitting on the throne, his legs resting on the armrest as Venom slithered to his arm, Ryan gently scratching under his chin as the snake hissed softly.
"Well well well, look what we snake dragged in~!" The man said with a menacing grin, standing up from the throne.
The twins could only stand still as they watched him walk closer, trying their best to hide the fear that began to grow inside.
His expression soon grew serious as he stopped in front of the two, his tall figure shadowing over them. "Looks like you've grown soft." He looked at Sage, his eyebrows narrowing. "Especially you, S. Cipher."
Sage gulped quietly, but kept her composure.
"Stay away from her!!!" Aiden's voice boomed inside the room, making Ryan look over, a scowl on his face. Sage tried to protest as Ryan made his way over to them, but was stopped as Venom wrapped himself around her neck, hissing a bit angrily.
The red-headed boy walked over to Aiden, who had a deadly glare on his face. "Aidston, it's been quiet a while since I last saw you."
Aiden's expression didn't change. "It wasn't long enough though."
Ryan chuckled, grabbing Aiden's chin and tilting it to a painful angle. "When did you become so cocky? You used to be too shy to even speak when someone asked you the simplest of questions."
Aiden bared his teeth at him in anger. "Some incidents can change a person in the long run. You of all people should know about that."
His tone was cold, his body completely frozen as he stared up at Ryan. A side to him even his own sisters had never seen before.
Ryan stared back, an unamused look on his face. However, seeing no fear in Aiden's eyes, he scoffed, letting go of him, only to harshly slap him across his face.
Unable to move from place, Aiden let out a grunt of pain as Sage yelled his name, noticing the blood that began to drip from his now cut lip.
Ryan chuckled. "I didn't hit you too hard, did I? Wouldn't want you to pass out before the show starts~!"
Aiden looked back up at Ryan as he began to walk back to Sage and Noah. "With you it's always just a game or show."
"Mm, true." He placed a hand on Sage's shoulder who tensed up, Venom slithering around his arm before pulling away. "But I find this one very special, for you're one of the main characters~!"
"What's that suppose to mean...?"
Ryan looked at Sage, a devilish smirk spread across his face. "Sagebrush, love, would you like to tell him, or should I~?"
Sage immediately grew pale, looking at Aiden as tears began to sting in her eyes. "... I-I..."
"Sage and her brother both work for me as my top assassins. They were sent to eliminate you and your sisters, but giving the rule to earn your trust in order for it to hurt even more." Ryan explained, his smirk not leaving his face.
Aiden's eyes grew wide as he looked at Sage, who had no choice but to look back as she bit her lip, holding back her tears.
He shook his head rapidly, blinking back his own tears. "N-no, no, that's not true. She wouldn't do that, you don't know what you're talking about." He looked back at Sage, forcing on a smile as he tried to ignore Ryan's words. "I-it's not true, right? He's insane, completely."
But she didn't answer as her tears streamed down her cheeks, swallowing down her sobs.
Aiden stared at her in pure shock and heartbreak, his own tears beginning to roll down his face. "I'm sorry..." was all Sage could manage to say without choking on her own sobs. "I'm so sorry..."
Aiden didn't respond, not even understanding his own feelings and emotions.
Ryan broke it off as he snapped his fingers, pointing at the three siblings. "Take them to the dungeons, and these two to the stone room."
As told, some of the people grabbed them by their shoulders, beginning to drag them away. However, Ryan pointing at the three.
"Ah-ah, not him, he's coming with me." He told the person holding Aiden, who pushed him over to Ryan. Aiden stumbled, but didn't fall, Ryan and one of the guards leaving the room.
Just before they did, Aiden gave one last glance at Sage who didn't have the heart to look him in the eye, not after what she had done.
