~~~~~~~~~Sage's POV~~~~~~~~~

I sat in my little office space, scrolling through my phone as I leaned back on my chair, my feet resting on my desk, bored as hell.

I hadn't had any assignments in a while, and not to my surprise, my brother had the same luck as me.

Hey, my name is Sage Cipher. My last name might be familiar to you, my father was the famous dream demon who caused the apocalypse. Though you'd be surprised when I say he was an amazing father to us.

I do miss him, a lot.

I should probably describe myself a bit. I have long pink hair (which is natural, hah!), light blue eyes and light skin. My favorite color's blue, and my attire usually consists of blue. I'm an assassin, I've worked here for a few years now, usually eliminating corrupted people.

You know, mostly politicians, lawyers, etc.

"When are you planning to get off of your lazy ass?" I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up to see my twin brother Noah walking over, holding a cup of coffee.

I rolled my eyes at his question. "I'll get up when I get a new assignment, but it doesn't seem like we'll have one anytime soon." I said as I placed my phone down, letting my feet fall onto the ground before stretching in place.

He took a sip of his coffee. "I'm sure we'll get a mission soon."

As if on cue, someone spoke through the intercom. "Will Sagebrush and Noé Cipher report to the boss's office?"

We both cringed at our names before sharing a glance. I shoved my phone in my pocket before going upstairs, Noah following shortly behind. People were rarely ever called up to the boss's office, so I had to admit I was a little nervous.

We entered to see Ryan sitting behind his desk, his snake-like eyes shifting to us. "You wanted to see us?"

"That I did." He let his feet down from his desk, his hand fiddling with a dagger. "My two top assassins. I have a very important assignment for you."

"Is it another governor? That time was crazy." I said with a laugh, Noah nudging my arm with an annoyed look.

Ryan shook his head. "Not this time. This one's a bit more... personal."

Noah and I looked at each other in confusion before looking back at him. "You see, there's this old.. friend of mine I haven't seen in years. Your mission, simple, eliminate your target."

I was about to cheer when he stopped me by raising his hand. "But, there's something you must do before." He looked at the dagger. "There's three people you need to eliminate. Win their trust, all of them, it shouldn't be too hard. Then you can kill them however you desire."

"I'll send you the details, they don't live too far away." He suddenly throws the dagger in our direction, stabbing through the wall in between us, making us both tense up. "Don't disappoint me."

"When have we ever disappointed you?" I answered with a sly smirk.

"Oh trust me, these people, they have their ways of defense. Your mission is to gain their trust, not trust them." He explained, his expression serious. "You may leave now."

With that, we left. Noah let out a deep sigh, and I snickered. "What, scared?"

"Of course I'm scared, he could easily kill us whenever he wanted." He said with a glare.

I shrugged, walking over to my office area. "Guess we're lucky to be good at our job."

"I guess..."

I felt my phone vibrate, making me take it out and see what popped up. The details from the mission were all now in my phone. Perfect!

"All right, get your supplies, we're leaving sooner than expected." I said to my brother, and he soon left to his desk.

Let's see what these people really are like.
