Prologue 
_____________

Within the whole universe, there was only one place that had a hold of many planets across the universe. This place is known as Homeworld. A glittering and cracked planet filled with many beings known as Gems. They take many shapes and forms, though they all listen to one Authority.

The Diamond Authority. 

Inside the Palace walls, sat three diamonds upon their throne. Each consisting Blue, Yellow, and White. They may be intimidating by their size, though one soul; a human/gem hybrid known as Steven Universe changed the way they were before.

They were more caring and sentimental.

Even now.

By their newest gem they cared for and after they lost Pink Diamond; she was making the Diamonds feel better each day that passed.

That gem was a Spinel. 

In the present, we see only White and Blue Diamond smiling down at Spinel and the two Pearls. Pink and Blue Pearl. The magenta/pink gem laughs and tossed the two up into the air as they performed tricks in midair before Spinel caught them. 

"What a lovely show." Blue comments with a soft smile as White nods in agreement. 

The gigantic doors to the throne room open to reveal Yellow Diamond and her pearl. "We have another planet wanting to make truce with us. I have just received a message from Yellow Pearl." 

White exhales tiredly and leans back in her throne, "Making peace with everyone in the universe is so tiring, but I will do it for Steven." She smiles more brightly.

Blue hums and picks up Spinel in her hand, "It's best to make peace with your enemies, especially with one's self." She gently runs a finger on Spinel's head. 

Spinel giggles as she remembers going along with the Diamonds when they made peace to planets. It all turned out well, maybe a little voice raising, but they all came to an agreement. Especially when Spinel was there, it made things more calm. "Am I going again?" 

White pulls up a screen and locates the planet, "This one is going to be a very long trip. Unfortunately this planet doesn't have a warp pad....maybe a day by warp speed from the ship." She sighs stressfully and answers the pink hearted gem. "Possibly, my Dearest Spinel. Though this trip is much longer than the others."

"Why not visit Steven?" Yellow suggested. "Spending time with him is a must. Is it not?" 

Spinel's mood deflated a little and gave a small chuckle, "What do you mean by that?" The panic started to rise in her chest, but she tried to hold it down.

Blue noticed the look in her magenta eyes, "What Yellow meant to say is that making friends is always great, especially for you, then you'll never be alone. We will pick you up when we're done, we always come back, don't we?"

With a glance to the side, Spinel smile a little, "Yeah. Thank you, My Diamond. I'll go." 

White had been listening and had a tiny bit of distaste at Spinel's answer or even Blue and Yellow's suggestions. Fortunately, the light colored diamond mentally sighed and knowing full well, they can't always keep Spinel here the whole time. This opportunity can help, just in case anything ever happened…...hopefully not.

"Then it's settled. Let Steven know." Yellow looks down at her pearl who bows her head and walks out of the room.

The Diamonds are at the warp pad with Spinel standing in the middle. 

She gives a fake happy tone and smiles widely, "I'll see you after you get back! I promise I'll be okay." Spinel stretches to all of the Diamonds, giving them each a hug on the cheek. Which made them smile happily. 

"We will be back to pick you up after this trip, okay, My Dearest Spinel?" 

"Our Dearest Spinel." Blue corrected White.

White clears her throat, "Of course. Our Dearest Dearest Spinel." 

"Alright, though, do expect me to check in with you, My Diamonds. If….if that's okay." Spinel looks at them sheepishly. 

"We will be waiting for it." Blue calmly states with a small bit of enthusiasm. 

This made Spinel feel a little better, but the negative feelings and old thoughts began to try to resurface. She takes a deep breath and let's it out before waving cheerfully as the warp pad actives. 

The beam of light surrounds the gem and carried her through space like a shooting star, unfortunately the path of light had gotten boring since the light blocked out the view from outside. The smile quickly melted away and Spinel got lost in thought.

'Would Steven and everyone on Earth want me around?' She thought. 

"No." Spinel shakes her head, making her pigtails move and she exhales heavily. "I will not let these feelings get the best of me again. You can do this Spinel. At least try." The small pep talk to herself brought a soft smile to her face and her feet meet the warp pad of Little Homeworld; Earth. Otherwise known locally as Beach City.

The Diamonds were already traveling by their ship. Yellow and Blue talking amongst themselves and the Pearls. Upon the chair made for White, she sat there deep in thought and her black nail tapping once in awhile on the armrest. 

Blue and Yellow can clearly see something was clearly wrong with White and silently ushered the Pearls off. It happens rarely now, but they couldn't take the chance of White snapping a little at anything when it bothered her greatly. 

"White?" Yellow asked.

"Is everything alright?" Blue finished. 

White takes a glance at them and force a smile, "Of course. Nothing, but missing Our Little Spinel." 

"I know how you feel, White, but we can't just always keep her in one place. She has to be free." Yellow states plainly with stoic expression.

Blue sighed sadly and seems guilty, "Not like how we kept Pink locked up most of her life span. I know Pink would be a bit too much on her actions, though we could've done better than just locking her up. She needed change." 

"Change for the better, right?" White's face scrunches in faint distaste. 'I'd never thought THEY would be right in these petty beliefs of existence.' 

After that comment, the trip was silent for the most part and the only time that it brightened was when Spinel checked in. By the first call, Spinel had happiness radiating around along with her already bubbly aura. 

"HELLOOO~ My Diamonds!" Spinel's voice sounded through the call and she giggles, "How is the trip going?" 

The three Diamonds chuckled at her even though she looked distracted since her magenta eyes glanced off to something off screen. 

"It's so boring without you!" White whined slightly. "I wouldn't have mind if you snuck on the ship." 

Blue laughed softly and Yellow beamed, still trying to keep her stoic stance. "White is correct. Maybe we should've took you with us." 

Spinel waves a hand comically, "Aw, no worries. There's always a next time and many after that. Oh! I can even show you fun games and stuff I learned while being here with Steven! I bet you'll love it!" 

"Spinel!" Steven's voice sounded faint off screen.

Spinel looks to the side and has her full attention on him.

"Hurry up, Dude! We're picking teams already!" Amethyst's chilled voice called out.

Spinel puffs her cheeks and huffs, "Tone it down, will ya!" She grins at the screen, "I'm so sorry, My Diamonds. I'll check in again after playing Baseball!" Her gloved hand waves, "See ya soon, My Diamonds!" The feed cuts out.

Then….

That happy moment popped after the call ended. White's happy aura drained before her apathetic face returned and went back to her thoughts. Which greatly concerned the two Diamonds and Pearls. Especially watching as the giant gem walked out of the room.

White had gone to her room for isolation and to keep her emotions from hurting anyone. The way Spinel looked happy on Earth than here. With Blue, with Yellow….with Her. Spinel helped keep away the things that clawed inside. The past. By what happened, by the way she used to think, by her old self that she now hated so much. 

By what happened before Homeworld came into existence. 

She snarled loudly and angrily stepped over to the window to look out at the fast movement of everything outside, "Maybe Steven is right. I still have a lot to learn and…." Her diamond shaped eyes shift to her reflect as she ran a hand down the surface. "...I need to try to move on."

"I'm very worried about White. I don't want us to drift apart again." Blue tries to hold in her tears and sadness.

Yellow sighs, "It is difficult to for all of us to accept all this change, Blue. I'm sure we'll get better at this whole good change." 

"My Diamonds. We have reached our destination." Yellow Pearl announced then grimaces at the sight of their destination. 

Blue and Yellow stand up and the saddened diamond's hands cover her mouth. "Oh dear." 

"This planet is completely destroyed. Worse than Homeworld." Yellow slightly glares in confusion. "There doesn't seem to have any life on this planet, not even gems." She scans over the information that Pink Pearl provided. "So who sent the message?" 

By that time, White had walked in and suddenly froze. Her eyes widening that the reflection of an obliterated planet with many pieces scattered around. The echoes of sheer terror deafened in her head. All sounding far off. A flashback. "We need to leave. Get this ship moving!" White clenched her teeth in not anger but also fear. 

"White? Please tell us what is going on?" Blue pleaded. 

"Why aren't we moving?" White completely ignored her.

Yellow Pearl gulps while Blue Pearl held Pink Pearl close to reassure her. "I-I don't know, My Diamond." Yellow Pearl talks to other parts of the ship where other gems ran it. "Come in, Peridots!" 

Silence on the other end. 

"Amethysts! Rubies? Jaspers?! Citrines?!" All have silence on the feeds.

The gems didn't notice another presence in the room and standing on the edge of the walls, looking down at them. The figure tapped the multi-colored gem that's embedded on their belt and a futuristic gun appears in their hands. Colorful energy pulsed on certain parts of the weapon. 

Pink Pearl happened take a glance and gasps in fear, "M-my Diamonds! Look out!" 

They all now turned to see the figure, but before the Diamonds could do anything, a bright light covered the room. 

When it died down, the figure quickly switched the weapon for a smaller one and shot three times. Once the room dimmed back to normal, three clear bubbles held three normal sized diamonds. Just the glittering crystals. 

The three Pearls stood there in shock. How did someone close to their size take out all three of their Diamonds? Blue Pearl shook and Pink Pearl cried silently, none dared to move as the figure's shadow casts over the three bubble.

"Not so perfect now, are you…..White." Their hand hovered under the bubble of the white diamond. Voice held so much venom. 

Yellow Pearl finally snapped out of it and reaches to call for help.

Immediately, the smaller weapon is aimed at Pink and Blue Pearl. "Call for help and I will not hesitate to bubble them as well." A switch on the gun flipped as the energy color changes, "Or would you prefer shattering." 

Yellow shakes, clearly afraid for the safety of her Blue and Pink. Her hand moves away and she shuffles over to cling to the other two Pearls. 

The figure's attention went back to the white diamond;

"The past will always come to haunt you, White Diamond. You gem scums will no longer exist in this universe ever again." Malice dripping with very word.

"You three are under MY command, if you don't, you'll be shattered and be lucky that I might let you live...and be one of my mutant soldiers. I'll be watching closely so you don't call for help. Now, get this thing moving back to Homeworld. My soldiers will help." 

As they turn, a necklace with a small silver key is invisible and the glare moving to make the small red heart twinkle.

The bubbled blue, yellow and white diamonds float there. 

"Three down. One to go."
