Chapter 47: The Abyss

(O.D.D.- I'm still continuing this story--it's just that I'm busy with plotting other stories and trying to make everyone happy with them.  This story isn't dead 'cuz I'm just really busy, but I'll do my best for everyone! (ò_óˇ))

"D**n...this place really dark..."

Pewds shadowed his eyes as he looked around.  Nothing but black could be seen.

Mark swallowed audibly.

"I never liked this part...."

Simon inclined his helmet-head at the ravenet as he unbuckled himself from the elevator seat.

"'This part'?"

Mark caught himself and laughed sheepishly.

"I-I mean, I'm pretty scared of, uh, sending the ARK-thingy into space while wandering around this place." 'Can't tell them that their life is a game to us--literally.  They would think we're crazy!'

Simon blinked, red lights flickering.

"Okaaaaay...." He stood up and exited the elevator, glancing around. "Cath, where do we head next?"

"We need to head to the building of course.  It shouldn't be too far away.  And before you take me off of this contraption, make sure you stay in lit areas......." Catherine sighed. "....You don't know what could be down here."

Simon went back to the elevator and disconnected Catherine from the elevator, taking the Omnitool with him.

Chey peered out into the darkness, adjusting her glasses.

"I think...I can see a light over there."

Cry also spotted the small light not too far from the group; the brunet glanced over his shoulder to look at the others.

"Alright guys. Stay close to each other, we don't know what spooky sh** exists down here."

As they walked towards the small light checkpoint, Cry noticed that Simon was having trouble walking against the strong current of the abyss. The brunet frowned contemplatively under his mask before focusing his wind magic.

Simon stumbled slightly at the sudden change of pressure and noticed that an air bubble was surrounding him. The diving suit turned to look at Cry with--what seemed to be--surprise.

"Cry? You don't have t--"

"Nah, buddy. It's alright. And Pewds is already helping out everyone else at the moment with his bubbles."

At the sound of his name, Felix looked over at Simon and Cry before pouting.

"Cry!"

"What?"

Pewds flailed his arms around.

"I'm supposed to be the King of Bubbles! You're taking my title away!"

Cry blinked owlishly before laughing brightly.

"Sorry Pewds! But it's best you don't strain yourself!"

The blonde huffed before cracking a smile.

"Thanks, bro."

The group finally made it to the mini lamppost, putting each other's backs together to look into the darkness surrounding them.

"Hey!" Ken waved his hands to catch everyone's attention. "I think I can see the next light over there!"

Cry squinted into the darkness.

There was a light not too far a--

....

Did that light just...split up...?

No...there were multiple lights, and they were moving towards them.

Cry tensed.

'Sh**. It's that giant eel monster.' "Everyone, get down!"

The others didn't question the brunet and immediately flattened themselves to the bottom of their bubbles.

Cry summoned his Okami sword and leveled it, narrowing his gaze into the darkness.

An eel-like beast infected with the WAU charged through the water, screeching loudly. The brunet lowered his stance and shifted his sword back, prepared to swing.

Cry dashed forward, dodged to the left to avoid the gaping jaws of the beast, and swung his sword through the eel, cutting through the monster horizontally.

Cry then landed onto the sandy ground a few meters away from the dead monster, creating a slight cloud of coral grains. The brunet cupped a free hand in front of his mask, calling out to his friends.

"Alright! It's dead guys!"

Everyone stood up. Ken jogged over in his bubble and halfheartedly kicked at the eel carcass.

"What the heck was that all about?"

Cry waved his hand carelessly in the air as his Okami sword disappeared.

"Just this big ol' beast that was infected with a WAU--"

The brunet stumbled, clutching his chest.  Chey rushed forward and frowned.

"Cry?  Are you alright?  You weren't injured were you!?"

Cry wheezed slightly, trying to control his breathing as Chey brushed a hand through his hair.

"Are you sick?  Babe, say something."

Cry shut his eyes tightly, inhaling through his nose before exhaling.  The pain in his chest felt like it was on fire, yet dumped on with a bucket of ice.

'Hello, Me.'

Cry widened his eyes beneath his mask.

'...Virus...'

'Heh.  Yep, it's me--or you, in a way.  I've already sent Johan to talk to you, but I thought it would be fun to talk to you myself.'

Cry huffed, gripping the front of the jacket.  Taking in and letting out a shuddering breath.

'Make it quick, man. You're making my friends worry.'

Virus snickered.

'What?  Are you in pain?'

'Dude.'

'Fine.  I'm just reminding you that this little game of ours is almost over.  The ending of this game will be at the final battle between you and me.  Since you've taken you friends' burdens, they will be released from this world even if you were to lose the fight against me.'

Cry narrowed his gaze slightly.

'What happens if I were to win?'

Virus made a grumbling noise before speaking.

'You go back to your world.  And then you return to your boring life while I die.' Virus then chuckled darkly. 'But if you were to lose.....yes, your friends will be set free, but....you shall stay here in this world.  Forever.'

Cry blinked before sighing softly, which caused the pain his chest to tighten slightly, but he didn't mind it too much.

'.....Alright then.'

''Alright then'?' Virus muttered incredulously. '''Alright then'?  What makes you so confident that you'll win against me?'

'I'm not saying that.  I'm just accepting your terms, dude.  As long as my friends can get out of here, I'm fine with staying here if I lose.'

'Oh~you're such a saint! How nice.'

Cry sighed softly.

'Are we done here?'

'Yeah. See ya', other me.'

The heavy weight on his chest lifted, but it was still lingering. Cry opened his eyes--when the he** did he close them--and stared up into the glowing, green eyes of Snake using Peeping Tom.

"Wha--?" Cry's voice was raspy and he coughed slightly. "Wh-What happ...ened..?"

Cry found that his mask was off and that he was lying down on something cold and solid. The brunet was about to sit up, but Snake roughly poked the other's forehead, forcing the other to lay back down. Bright green eyes narrowed sharply as they stared into blue ones.

"Lie. Down. And don't move."

Cry lifted an eyebrow, but his head went back and lightly hit whatever he was lying on--must be some sort of desk or table judging by the office-like room the two were in.

".....So.....?"

"You, after killing that WAU beast, fell unconscious after grabbing your chest area in pain. Cheyenne freaked out slightly, but she was able to keep a calm mind and asked for help from the rest of us. I helped carry you to the base since I was closest to Cheyenne. Simon's bubble disappeared temporarily, but Felix made a new one for him. Now you're here. Everyone else is outside at the moment because they were starting to get a little loud. I'm checking up on you."

Cry turned his gaze to the cracked ceiling above.

"Alright....thanks for looking out for me."

"Was it him?"

Cry looked over at Snake, a small frown of confusion on his face.

"What?"

"Your virus-self," Snake elaborated. "Was it him?"

Cry blinked...and blinked again before sighing.

"Yep..."

"What did he say?"

Cry gazed back at Snake for a moment before speaking.

"He said the end of the game was near. So....we're almost done."

Snake blinked before slowly narrowing his gaze at Cry. The two sat in silence before Cry spoke up, looking at the ceiling above once more.

"Can everyone else come in?"

"......You're not telling me something."

Cry paused and sighed, rolling on the table like a child, lolling his head to look at the other.

"But Snaaaaaaake....you don't need to be such a mother hen."

The taller brunet seemed amused for a moment before making his gaze stern.

"Cry, you passed out while having a conversation with him in your head. And the fact that you're....fading away does not make me feel any better. Give me all of the details."

Cry huffed, looking playfully stubborn while he was mentally shouting in his head.

'Snake--just why? Why do you have to be such a sharp motherf***er?! Perhaps I can lie....nope, he's giving me that scary look, God d**n it. But then if I told him.......uuuuugh, what to do?!'

Snake, with Cry's mask off, could see his friend's expressions much more easily than before.  The taller brunet sighed at the inner turmoil that was there.

"Cry...I thought that all of us were going to trust each other on this--"

Cry widened his eyes and cut the other off.

"I AM!  I--....I just......" The brunet rolled over to lie on his back, staring up at the ceiling. ".....Sigh......Snake.....I--....what if...what if we were to lose the 'game'?  What do you think would happen?"

It sounded like Cry already knew the answer, Snake observed, but he decided to put his thoughts into the matter.

"....I cannot say that we'll win or lose....but I want you to know, Cry...." Snake lightly punched the other on the shoulder. "We're with you all the way. No matter what, alright?"

Cry blinked, chuckling as he relaxed.

"....Thanks, buddy...." 'I'm really sorry, Snake, but thanks for being there for me until the end.'

Cry sat up carefully, head spinning slightly, but he managed a crooked smile at Snake, grabbing his mask from his friend.

"Can I go now, Doc?"

Snake rolled his eyes, eyebrows pinched slightly with concern, but nodded.

"C'mon, Fearless Leader. Let's go show them that you're alright."

~~

Chey had lightly punched Cry on the cheek--mask--before grasping the sides of his face, gently bumping their foreheads together.  Cry reached up and held her hands in his own, having a moment of peace with her.

Everyone else decided to group hug and smother him.  Some were bawling--Jack, Ken, Felix, Raven and Mark--while others were just giving him noogies.

After everyone was sure--Cry you aren't dying, bleeding or anything else, right!?  Oh my gosh, why aren't there underwater hospitals?!--that Cry was fine and ready to go, they took the time to listen to Catherine, who was plugged into the area.

"Now that everyone's present, I'll tell you what we need to do."

Catherine quickly went over a few facts, saying that the ARK had safely made it and that they only had to launch it.

"However, I'm unsure of where the launching area is. This place sure got a beating being under so much water pressure for so long, so I can't exactly pin point the location of the area. Also, we still need to pick up the ARK..."

Cry nodded and looked at the group.

"Let's split up for a bit, okay? I know splitting up is a Scooby-Doo thing and it's a terrible idea, but we'll be able to gain more ground this way."

Catherine made one more comment before clicking off.

"I'll keep you connected with the best of my abilities."

The group nodded to each other and split up into groups of two and 2 groups of three.

Snake and Russ. Red and Raven. Scott, Jack and Ken. Pewds, Simon and Chey. Cry and Mark.

Cry left Sup with Chey--for safety reasons.

~~
<<(With Cry and Mark)>>

As Cry wandered the area, Mark poked him on the shoulder.

"Boop!"

Cry blinked and turned a curious gaze to the ravenet.

"Mark?"

Mark looked at Cry, an unreadable expression on his face.

'Just ask him! Like: 'what the he** happened back there' or 'are you hiding something from us'.'

Mark couldn't see Cry's face, but he just got this sort of tired feeling from his masked friend. The ravenet wasn't sure if he should press such stressful questions on Cry when he already looked....so....weak? Tired? Exhausted?

Mark sighed mentally and made a decision in his head. The ravenet made a pouty face as he placed a hand under his chin contemplatively.

"Cry....I haven't ever questioned you about your tattoos before--I mean like seriously! Why haven't I ever said anything about 'em? Anyways, what's up with them?" 'I'll ask him later I guess....'

Cry glanced down at his arms as the two continued to walk, rolling up his sleeves.

"These? Well...they're kinda like....powers, but they're....'sealed' or not being used at the moment. Here, watch." Cry touched his Okami mark and his sword popped out, glowing red dimly in the darkened hallways. "See. This bada** sword comes out when I touch it."

Mark's eyes sparkled comically.

"Cool! What about the others?"

Cry summoned rats, much to Mark's disgust, with the Outsider mark. He performed Blink a few times. Cry also stood on the wall with the help of Ori's powers. Cry didn't show all of them to avoid getting exhausted. Mark was amazed the entire time.

"Woooooaaaah! That's so neat.....hey, what's this one do?"

Mark reached out and poked one of the many tattoos on Cry's arm--the FNAF one.

POP!

Cry blinked in surprise while Mark yelped at the popping sound and the flash of bright light.

"Woah!"

"Arr, what the 'eck?!"

"Haha, this place looks a lot more spookier when I'm out of the tattoo."

"Eeek, protect us Mr. Cry!"

The said masked gamer blinked his eyes and lifted his gaze up.

"Artie? Crevan, Leve, Anda?"

The said FNAF children--ghosts--drifted around Cry's head. Artie waved at the taller, older brunet, smiling brightly.

"It's been a while since you've summoned us out here! We got snippets of what's going on right now, so you don't have to explain too much to us. Anyways, what did you summon us for?"

Cry blinked before inclining his head, confusion clear in his voice.

"I...didn't summon you."

Leve squinted his eyes at Cry before turning his attention to the other human that was present.

"You!"

Mark jumped and flailed slightly.

"Wha--? Uh, yesssss....?"

Crevan jumped into the conversation.

"'re ye the one that summoned us?"

Cry blinked in slight surprise and turned to look at Mark.

"Mark?"

Mark waved his arms around.

"I dunno?! I don't have powers li--" Cry sees something on Mark's arm mid wave. "--ke you do! So I have no flappy-birding clue what's going on!"

"Mark," Cry extended a relaxed hand out towards Mark. "Show me your arm."

Mark froze and looked at Cry with confusion before extending out both arms, not knowing which he should offer to the other. Cry quickly took Mark's right arm into his grasp and examined the ravenet's wrist.

Instead of the ring of orbs that Cry had when the FNAF children were sealed in his arm, Mark had a row of four animal heads--a bear, chicken, fox and a rabbit--tattooed on his arm.

"Crrrryyyy...?" Mark stretched the name out of nervousness. "What's going on man? Hello? I'm sure you don't have laser vision, heheh--oh snap! WHAT IF YOU DO!? ARE YOU TRYING TO BURN HOLES INTO MY ARM!?"

Cry laughed brightly as he then swatted Mark's arm away.

"Nah, man! Anyways," Cry placed his left hand on his hip while he moved his other one to settle underneath his chin. "It looks like you've got a few new buddies with you, Mark." Cry glanced at his own arm to see that his FNAF tattoo was gone. "Take good care of Artie, Leve, Crevan and Anda for me!"

Mark gaped at Cry before looking at his new FNAF tattoo and the four ghostly children that were floating around.

"Wait, WHAT!?"

Cry snickered.

"Looks like you really are the King of Five Nights at Freddy's."

Anda tilted her head with curiosity plain on her face as Mark freaked out slightly.

"What's 'Five Nights at Freddy's'? Is it a game?"

If only she knew.....

<<(With Snake and Russ)>>

Snake had Peeping Tom activated as he glanced around the area, looking for the launch area that Catherine had spoke of earlier.

Russ walked behind the other, hands in his pockets as he studied the taller brunet.

The two walked in complete silence, until.....

"Is there something wrong, Russ?" Snake glanced over his shoulder, green eyes cutting through the darkness. "You've been staring at me for quite a while without saying anything."

Russ gazed back, eyes sharp and calculating. He wasn't being his usual jokester self.

"What the f*** is going on with Cry?"

Snake gave nothing away as he stopped walking, turning around to face the other fully.

"What?" 'Russ is as observant as me. Of course he was bound to notice.'

Russ narrowed his gaze as he also stopped walking, standing a few meters away from Snake. Despite the distance, Snake could hear the other quite clearly in the silent hallway.

"There's something wrong with Cry. And I have a feeling that you know what's up."

Snake said nothing, causing Russ to grit his teeth slightly.

".....I hit it right on the nail, huh?" Snake looked off to side as Russ sighed deeply. "Snake....c'mon big guy, tell me what's up with Cry."

"It is...not my place to tell you..." Snake seemed to struggle to get the words out, and Russ deflated before perking up at the other's next words. "But I think it's time the others knew what's going on."

Russ didn't like the sad tone in Snake's voice. He**, Snake was usually unreadable and blank.

But not now.

Snake was serious.

"Snake? What the he** is going on?"

The taller brunet slowly shook his head as he brought his gaze to Russ.

"Cry.....Cry is dying."

<<(With Raven and Red)>>

"Red..."

"Hm?"

The redhead turned to watch Raven skip beside her. The brunette fidgeted with her goggles for a moment before looking over at Red.

"I'm really worried about Cry."

Red's mouth thinned into a grim line as she brought her gaze back to the front, raising her molten hand a little higher to brighten up the hallway.

"That nutball always makes us worry."

"But it's different, Red! Did you see what happened?"

Red sighed softly as they both continued down the hall.

"Yes....I saw. Everyone saw."

Raven was no longer skipping at this point as she walked solemnly beside the redhead.

"....It was like he was drowning--like he couldn't breathe despite that air bubble around him......Cry doesn't have asthma, does he?"

Red shook her head.

"I don't think so. He doesn't have any diseases, so Cry should be perfectly healthy."

Raven looked distressed as she kicked a small screw down the hall, hearing it tinkle lightly against the metal floor.

"It's just....I thought we were going to lose him Red!  Like that time with Pewds and Russ--"

"Please don't talk about that."

"--Sorry.  Anyways.  I'm worried for everyone.  And Cry's the one who usually keeps us together.  If he were to be gone--!"

Red spun around sharply to face Raven.

"Cry will be fine, Raven!" The redhead softened her gaze at the teary look that was directed at her. "Cry's not someone to give up easily at anything.  You can worry about him, sure, but keep in mind that we need to be strong for Cry too.  He can't always do things by himself."

Raven sniffled before nodding, eyes shinning determinedly.

"Cry...Cry will be alright."

<<(With Scott, Jack and Ken)>>

Scott let his green ghosts surround them as they walked down the gloomy halls, lighting up the way for them.

"Oi, lad."

Scott grunted and looked over at Jack, feeling a little uncomfortable at Sam, who was staring at him, literally unblinkingly.

"Yeah...?"

"What's up with the freaky ghosts?"

Scott rubbed his face and sighed.

"How do I put this.....have you played Bioshock before?"

Jack tilted his head in thought.  Sam floated by his head, glowing a soft green.

"I.....I think so!  What 'bout it--oh.....wait.....is it that Possession vigor thingy?"

Scott nodded.

"Yep.  Correctomundo."

"Ain't that interesting!  But where did Cry get all of those other powers?"

Scott waved a hand in the air carelessly.

"We went to...other games.  Ken can vouch for me."

The said bear-hat-wearing gamer nodded, grinning brightly.

"He's right~"

Clank, clang, clang, clang.....

The three were immediately on edge, turning their gazes back to the darkness.  They went back to back with each other, guarding each other's blindspots.  Scott squinted at the darkness as he moved a few ghost forward.

The sound of creaking metal reached their ears, coming from both ends of the hall they were in.  Scott took a step forward, summoning a few more ghosts.

"Stay behind me guys."

WAU infected people slowly started to come out into the dim light emitted from the ghosts, twitching and swinging their arms limply at their sides.  Scott grimaced, seeing how their numbers seemed to be increasing.

The WAUs just stood there, watching him and his companions.  Scott growled lowly as he shifted into a ready stance, green ghosts swirling around him.

"C'mon."

The WAUs screeched, sounding similar to grinding metal, before launching themselves as Scott.  The ravenet was quick to snap his fingers and his ghosts possessed the majority of the WAUs.  The possessed WAUs fought the other demented machines as Scott dodged a few that had broke through the line of ghosts.  The ravenet sent a sharp kick to the side of one of the WAU's human-like torso, wincing slightly when he made contact.

'Holy sh**, that felt like kicking a titanium wall at full force.'

Scott retracted his foot--but he didn't do it fast enough.  The WAU he had kicked latched onto his ankle and foot with both of its deformed hands and swung Scott around into the side of the hall harshly.  Scott got the wind knocked out of him, and his vision swam slightly.

'Motherf--!'

Scott rolled underneath the WAU to keep his skull from getting crushed underneath its foot.  The ravenet summoned more ghosts, but he kept most of them around Ken, Jack and Sam.

There were too many--it was like they hit the nest of WAU beasts in the base.  Scott gritted his teeth as he felt something dribble down the side of his face.  He reached a hand up and swiped away the mess, grimacing when he saw blood when he brought his hand up to view.

'.....'

Scott sighed and lifted a hand to the side as he kneeled onto one knee.  He sent two ghosts to blast through a wave of WAUs on one side of the hall.

"Jack, Ken!" He barked out. "Get the he** out of here!"

The two said gamers gaped at Scott.  Jack ground his teeth as he took a step towards Scott.

"'re you out of your mind, lad!?  What 'bout you?"

Scott merely grinned lazily as he struggled to his feet, waving a hand in the air.

"I'll catch up, geez~just make sure you get far away from here, 'kay?" The ravenet narrowed his eyes. "Now.  Go."

Ken growled.

"Hey!  Don't play hero, dude!  We can't just leave you behind!"

Scott huffed and summoned more ghosts, making them crowd around Jack and Ken. The ravenet directed his gaze to the spirits.

"Get them out of her--"

One of the WAU had snuck up behind Jund and started to strangle him. Scott coughed and nailed his elbow into the WAU's gut. The creature screeched and retreated to regroup with his buddies.

"Scott!"

The ghosts were starting to push Ken and Jack down the hallway where the WAUs were less present. Ken was struggling against the ghostly limbs.

"Don't you dare....!"

Scott lazily saluted the two as he rubbed his raw throat.

"Heh......don't worry. I'll come back and meet up with you guys, 'kay? That's a promise." Scott turned his back on them before glancing over his shoulder. "Oh, and one more thing." The ravenet smirked amusedly at them. "Tell Snake that's he's still a d**k."

"SCOOOTT!"

The two never got to see the other again once the ghosts started to drag the two of them down the hall.

"Huuuu~"

Scott paused and turned to the side, seeing Sam floating there. The ravenet huffed as he massaged his throat one last time before turning to look at the floating eyeball.

"What the he**.....you're still here? Go back to Jack or I'll use my ghosts and make you."

"Hu!"

"What? I don't speak your weird eyeball language." Jund grumbled. "Just go back with those tw--!"

Sam nudged Scott, causing the other to back up slightly.

"Woah, what the heck?! What are y--.....why are you glowing all of a sudden!?"

Sam made....a growling noise as he stood defensively in front of Scott, defending him as the WAU s got closer. Jund huffed, patting the back of the eyeball, walking forward to stand next to Sam.

"Hmph, fine. But I don't think you can fight against these guys--they'll tear you apa--"

Zap!

A beam of green light blasted through a wave of WAU-infected, dead people. The WAUs that had been in the line of fire were burned to a crisp. Scott blinked his eyes rapidly before looking at Sam, who was smoking slightly. Jund lifted his hands in a mock surrendering manner, chucking amusedly.

"Okay! Remind me not to get on your bad side....Sam, was it?"

"Hu~!"

Scott smirked.

"Alright big guy, help me out then so we can meet up with the others."

"Huuuu!"

The two started to attack the WAUs.

~~

Scott panted as he leaned against a desk in one of the offices that he had found. Sam was drifting around him, making concerned noises. The WAUs were banging on the locked door that had a chair propped under the handle.....but it was only a matter of time before it was broken down...

"Stay still, Sam. I'm alright." Jund studied the green eyeball. "How many more times can you shoot lasers, big guy?" The eye seemed to bounce....five times before pausing in the air. Scott huffed. "Five times, huh? I'm getting pretty tuckered out too."

The ravenet pushed himself off from the desk and summoned his ghosts, looking at the door that was starting to look a little frail under the continuous banging.

"Y'know, now would be a good time to head back to where Jack and Ken are. I'm sure you can get through the WAUs with your five shots."

Sam knocked into Scott's head roughly.

"Ouch! Alright, you won't leave me, but are you sure? Jack would love you more than I would." Sam harrumphed. "'Kay, last warning though, alright?" The eye seemed to nod. "Last stand then....."

Jund walked up a few steps, watching the door closely. He saw a few of the WAUs' glowing eyes peaking through the cracks. Scott smirked as his ghosts drew closer to him, green glow dancing across his face.

"I was always bad at keeping promises."

Slam!

The WAUs started charging in once the door was broken down. Scott yelled out a battle cry as the WAUs started to swarm i--

Click, ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta!

Scott blinked his onyx eyes in surprise when the WAUs were shot down by a rain of...bullets? Jund knocked down any other WAUs that got into the room, but it looked like all the other ones were killed by the bullets....

...

Soon, a voice spoke up.

"Phewie~! That was a whole lot of weird robot dudes! Hello? Is anyone in that room?"

What sounded like boots hitting metal grew closer. Scott tensed up, bringing his ghosts closer to Sam and himself. The voice--it sounded female--spoke once more.

"Helllloooooo~? Don't worry, I'm a human! I'm not dangero--....well, I'm currently holding a gatling rifle, but I'm not going to hurt you!"

A shadow appeared in the dim light through the doorway. Black boots clunked on the floor as they stepped over WAUs. A brown trench coat swished on the ground.

Scott blinked, widening his eyes as his ghosts disappeared.

".....Holy sh**....!"

<<(With Pewds, Simon and Chey)>>

Felix glanced around the area holding a flashlight he found in one of the offices from before. Chey--Sup was on her shoulder--followed from behind with Simon, walking side by side with the diving suit. Simon's red lights shifted to look at the two he was currently with.

"Um....so....how did you guys end up down here?"

Pewds glanced over his shoulder at Simon, a slightly nervous expression on his face.

"Uh...well...that's kind of hard to explain. And I don't think you'd believe us."

Simon made a huffing sound.

"Sounds suspicious. It makes me question why I'm following you guys right now."

Chey sighed.

"Dude, chill. We're helping you out, aren't we?"

Simon sighed.

"Sorry. It's just....humans aren't really alive now--only brain copies of them. It's sad to think that humans being around is rare."

Chey looked over at the diving suit before lightly patting the other on the back--not sure if he could feel that--but trying to offer comfort anyways.

"Hey. I'm sure that this ARK thing might help you guys out. Don't feel too bad."

Simon sounded thankful, though his expression couldn't be read.

"I just hope something really can be done in this dark world."

Clank.

Felix spun around and shone the flashlight down the part of the hall where they came from. After darting the flashlight around, he paused and summoned tentacles of water. Ice started to crackle along the walls as Pewds activated his powers. Chey shuffled a little closer to the blonde, tapping the other lightly on the shoulder.

"Felix? What's wrong?"

The blonde blinked as he glanced down the hall.

"Something's coming, and I don't think they're friendly." Pewds handed the flashlight to her, narrowing his glowing, blue eyes. "Here. Hold this for a bit and stay behind me. Cry would kill me if you ever got hurt, Cheyenne."

Chey couldn't help but smile amusedly before doing what she was told to do with Simon: stepping behind Pewds. Chey kept the flashlight trained on the darkness they were facing as Felix started to back up a bit, pushing his companions along so they could walk backwards with him.

"Can you see anything, Felix?"

"Nope! I don't have sharp eyes, lol."

The three found themselves in an underwater tunnel, where they could view the murky water, which was barely lit up with small lights here and there.

"Felix, this isn't really the time to joke around...."

"I'm serious! I can't see sh*--HOLY CR**!"

A giant WAU eel--certainly not the one Cry killed because its lights were red--swam towards them while they were in the middle of the tunnel. Pewds spun around and started to push Chey and Simon forward.

"Run, guys! RUN!"

No one questioned his order. They ran like he**.

They were at the edge of the tunnel before the eel smashed through the thick glass. The air was quickly sucked out and water rushed in. Pewds blinked when he was thrown back when the floor of the tunnel jostled underneath his feet. Chey spun around quickly with Simon and tried to reach out to the blonde.

"FELIX!"

Pewds looked panicked as he fell back before sending a nervous smile to them, punching a fist-bump into the air in front of him.

"Keep going bros! I'll catch up!"

Felix sealed off the tunnel with water as he made a bubble for himself as the ocean surrounded him. The eel roared as it swam violently through the water, charging towards Pewds.

The blonde blinked, ice forming a sword in his hand as he grinned.

"DO YOU SPEAK CHOPNESE!?" Felix brought his blade down against the eel, grinning widely. "BECAUSE I SPEAK CHOPNESE, BRO!"

The WAU beast managed to swerve out of the way, only receiving a bad gash from Pewds's sword swing. The eel lashed out with his tail as it swam by Felix. The blonde widened his eyes and created a layer of ice to step on and jump out of the way with his bubble around him. He took the step a bit too late and the tail went through the bubble and smashed into his side.

This caused Felix to take bite into his cheek out of pain, blood pooling in his mouth as he smashed into one of the rock walls of the Abyss. Pewds huffed and flipped his bangs out of his eyes, cracking his neck.

"Hmph! Alright.....just need to try..." His blue eyes glowed, blood dribbling from his mouth. "A bit harder."

Felix pushed off of the rocks and sent multiple slashes at the WAU beast, stepping on blocks of ice to change his direction int the water to avoid getting injured. The eel shrieked and squirmed when it received more cuts. Pewds raised his sword and finally stabbed his ice sword into its forehead. The WAU thrashed around before becoming deathly still, simply floating in the water. It was dead.

Felix grinned and sent a triumphant smile to Chey and Simon, who were watching through the glass. He couldn't hear them, but Chey gave him an encouraging thumbs up and Simon pumped his arms into the air. Pewds started to drift back to the entrance of the tunn--

SLAM!

A WAU inffected tail smashed into his side once more. He slammed into the wall, coughing up some blood as he felt his ribs crack slightly.

He heard frantic clanking and weakly turned his head to the side, where he saw the non-destroyed part of the tunnel, where Chey and Simon should be. His vision was blurry, but he could sort of see their--more like Chey's--panicked expressions as they hit the glass. Pewds could hear his name, but it was muffled greatly by the glass and the spinning of his head.

Felix turned his gaze back to the front and narrowed his eyes.

'Another f***ing giant turd......'

Another WAU-infected eel had appeared, lights flashing blue and yellow this time. Felix summoned another sword, but his head was spinning too much. The sword tried to form, but it kept shattering when it only formed the hilt.

"F-F***....."

He heard mored panicked shouts before he saw someone try to push against the water barrier he created to keep the sea out of the destroyed tunnel. He widened his eyes when a human hand pushed through.

'Holy sh**! Chey, you're insane!' Pewds mentally panicked in his head. 'We're in a f***ing trench--you'll get crushed by the pressure, and you can't even breathe underwater!'

Pewds snapped a hand out to the tunnel as a figure stepped out, forming a bubble around the person so they could breathe and be protected from the water pressure. However, his movement gained the attention of the WAU beast, who screeched at him and started to swim towards him. Felix clicked his tongue and tried to form a sword once m--

"Maya! Use your super bark! Edgar! Use your laser eyes!"

BARK!

ZAP!

Felix watched with wide eyes as the WAU got pushed to the side violently before getting shot through the head with red lasers....

He blinked his eyes hard and saw that the eel was, indeed, dead.

"Felix! What the he** is going on!? I thought you we were all having a game night at Cry's house!"

The person he had bubbled from before drifted in front of him. Pewds widened his eyes as his heart fluttered.

<<(With Scott, Sam and ???)>>

The newcomer grinned at Scott. The brunette had purple-dyed bangs peaking out from a black bandana wrapped around her head. Her bright, caramel-brown eyes twinkled with amusement as she shouldered her gatling rifle, shoving her free, gloved hand into her brown trench coat pocket. She also wore black jeans that were tucked into shinny, black boots. The brunette widened her grin.

"Scotty~what up, man?"

Jund slowly found his voice.

"Minx....?"

The brunette, Minx, laughed brightly and moved her free hand out of her pocket, miming a gun with it as she winked at him.

"The one and only~"

<<(With Pewds)>>

"Felix? Oh no....you're bleeding!"

Pewds could only gape slightly at the caramel-brunette that was standing before him, including the black and the fawn pug that were wagging their tails next to her. It was a bit hard to tell in the bad lighting, but she wore white jeans, a yellow blouse and a tan, unbuttoned jacket.

Warm hands gently brushed his face and the blood that was dribbling there. Her brown eyes grew teary as she hugged Felix's head to her chest.

"You idiota! This is what happens when I leave you alone for too long! You get hurt!" (Idiot!)

Pewds slowly shook off his shock and hugged the other back, smiling softly as he stood up straighter, placing his chin on her shoulder. He chuckled softly as he ran a hand through her hair.

"Hey, Marzia."

The said caramel-brunette hugged the other tightly, burying her face into his shoulder.

"....Hey, Felix."
