I stared into my baby's eyes, they were large and dark, but oh so adorable. I had finally gotten Cody to calm down after a quick bath and a diaper change.
We were still in the hospital and it was late at night. I layed there on my hospital bed, cuddling my baby boy on my chest. He was so small. It's funny to think that we were all once that tiny and cute.
I relaxed in the silent room, no one else was around at the moment but us. And I liked it.
I think Cody liked it too, he had been crying an awful lot, but it was a soft, whimpering type of cry.
Now he was almost asleep in my arms as I saw his big dark eyes start to droop. I kissed his soft little head. He had light brown hair like me, and pale skin like his dad.
I had already gotten the "Oh he's so cute" and the "he looks just like you guys" from friends and relatives. I knew it was true too. I loved him the second I first layed eyes on him the day before. He was a beauty. One of a kind baby.
Suddenly he started whimpering and I quickly snuggled him closer. I figured he would have been hungry again by now, so I pulled down my hospital gown and breastfed him. The little sucking noises made me smile, and soon he fell asleep. "Goodnight, baby", I whispered softly, "sweet dreams".
